Hi,
I have a Samsung np730 (series 7 ultra) and I just upgraded the operative system to windows 8.1 thanks to the image recived from my university. I solved the compatibility problems of the wi-fi with the advice of this topic and I installed the latest catalys 13.10 beta that work well with windows 8.1.
The only issue (for now) that I find is that the backlight adjustment doesn't work. If I use the fn key the on screen bar is shown but the backlight level don't change. The same things if I thange the light level direcly from the control pannel.
Some of you have this problem, maybe with other laptop models too? What can I do?
Thanks!!

I'm on my phone now (tapatalk) but check the thread linked below; also search for other 8.1 discussions.

Basically Samsung's Settings program isn't compatible with 8.1 yet (it's still not released). But if you look under model NP940xxx, you'll find a newer Settings 2.1 that has worked for some.
Please continue discussion in that 8.1 thread. -
I know that Samsun Settings is not compatible with 8.1, (but I solved with compatibility setting as write in that post) but this is not the problem.... Anyway I just solved uninstalling the Intel graphic driver (the one with the white backbround that I think windows 8.1 installed) from the device management. This restored the old one with the black background (in particular the version of the driver is 9.17.10.2875) that solved the problem and now the backlight leves change correctly
Backlight adjustment doesn't work after upgrade to Win 8.1 (series 7 and maybe others)
