So I bought a samsung evo 500 gb to replace my intel 330 ssd for my ativ book 6. I have done replacing parts on my laptop before and never had problems until now.

But after this one, my laptop no longer powers on. When I press power button the fan spins just a bit and then turns off. Screen doesn't go on. No lights on keyboard like caplock or numlock when pressed. Plugged the hdmi cable to my tv and there's no signal coming to the tv. I put back my original spinning drive that came with the laptop and it does spin when the laptop is turned on.

I have tried all the resetting methods including pinhole, removing battery, removing bios battery and still nothing. Ac adapter still shows red light when connected meaning there's still power coming into the machine. But it's just that the mainboard is not responding to anything. Is my mainboad fried now?

What happens if you remove the SSD and also any removable RAM? Can you get into the BIOS?

Thanks for the reply. I already tried booting up with the hard drive disconnected but it still didn't boot up. My laptop has soldered ram so I can't remove it.

Was UEFI enabled (probable if the notebook shipped with Windows 8) and were you not keeping the BIOS up to date?

If yes, you might want to read the unbricking thread.
