I would advise you to wait for Montevina Plus if you can. Much lower prices and better performance from notebooks across the board. I came across the X360-34P but decided the new models were definitely worth the wait since competition and performance will be far superior as well as much lower pricing across the board. The Amazon deal of $999 after rebate even with the good specs for the moment is pretty much just what the real cost is right now on this and costs are going down with performance ramping up. So I decided to not get this one. If you absolutely need a laptop ASAP and can deal with the inferior quality of this, then I suggest you get one from the Amazon deals if you see it for $999 after rebate again.

I have heard stories of CPU Fan Whine, to broken screens and the like. The notebook is definitely not as well made as others but at the deepest discount price of the Amazon deal, at $999 after rebate, you have to decide if you need this laptop ASAP or if you can wait for montevina plus which will be out later on, maybe a month or a few months or so.

OK I actually HAD a Samsung X360 .... looks fine, good keyboard, fast machine for what I need way too fast BUT ... that plastic is HORRIBLE, the finger marks make it look yukky and I am sorry to say but I am not a big fan of glossy after this experience ... it is way too bright and the brightness does not stay down where you put it ... it is fairly quiet though there is a constant low fan noise, not really annoying at all. But that shiny plastic just looks crap no other way about it.

I wish it was known the models of the new upcoming ultraportables with the new Intel Montevina Plus. I guess I just gotta wait a little bit.

Perfectionseeker really lives up to his name. I am super nitpicky about my laptops and have the X360 and am loving it. I do not think the piano black finish looks bad at all. In fact it looks very good - the problem is the fingerprints etc, but those are easy to wipe off.

I have the U9400 1.4ghz core 2 duo ULG and 128gb SSD. The SSD benchmarked at a steady 150mbps, it is SUPER fast. My battery life for web and productivity is 9 hours and change. With multimedia it is 7 hours, and I tested it with games (Age of Empires 3, and Unreal Tournament 3) to check battery life, and I get about 3 hrs and 40 mins). IMO this is the best ultraportable available right now. If you can see one physically, go do that.
