    Hello all,
I am about to download Office 2007 Home and Student from the Dell site to my N120 and wonder about several things:
    1) all I really want is Word--is there anyway to just download that? (it was cheaper to buy the whole Office than to buy Word alone!)
    2) is there any way I can "disconnect" McAfee while downloading?
    3) Should I uninstall Wordpad first?
Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated.

If you're buying the student edition I'll assume you're a student and wondering if you're aware of the $59.95 offer for Office Ultimate:

    http://www.microsoft.com/student/discounts/theultimatesteal-us/default.aspx

Could be cheaper than what Dell offers. If you attend a University they often have bulk licensing and free, or at least extremely cheap, MS Office products for students. Check with your school.

    1) No, there's no way to just download an install package for Word if you buy an office bundle, you can choose to just install Word after the download though. Excel, PowerPoint and Access are always handy to have anyway.

    2) Just go into your system processes using task manager (alt + ctrl + del) and shut down anything you see mcafee related. Though why you want to do that for the download of legit software I'm not sure, there's no real benefit.

    3) Not worth hassling with.

How can I choose to install Word only after the download? By uninstalling the others? Or is there something else I should do? If I leave the whole bundle on, will it slow down my N120? Otherwise comprimise the great way the netbook is working now? I get/handle lots of Word docs, but never any excel or powerpoint.
    THANKS,
    jp
