Hi everyone i'm looking to get a Samsung X-65 and want to upgrade the RAM to 4GB for photoshop work.

I will need to install a 64 bit OS to access all 4GB and was wondering if anyone has sucessfully loaded a 64bit version of Vista on to one and if so did it go ok? were there driver issues etc?

    Thanks for any help received.

You absolutely have to install a 64 bit OS in order to get advantage of the full 4 Gb of RAM. No idea about driver issues - sorry.

I'd recommend buying a 1GB and 2GB stick to maximize 32-bit. Majority of 64-bit drivers are not developed well so I'd avoid that.
Alternatively, if you minimize your video card memory (assuming integrated) and have 2x2GB, then you'll probably only have 3.2GB useable - if you're ok with that.

The X65 has a 8600 GS 256MB. After posting this there was also a thread about enabling PAE/DEP something in 32 bit vista that will allow the full 4GB to work, so i might give that a try.

What's the thread? I'm pretty sure 32-bit OS will never allow you to use the full 4GB for memory though..
