hi there , 2 days ago my little cousin drop almost half lt of water in the laptop, especially in the keyboard area, keyboard didnt work and trackpad also, and the redlight turns on indicating some problem.

turn off and call my friend that fix laptops, and after some hour he open the notebook and start cleaning this mess because there was a lot of water.

after 1 day he deliver me the laptop, he told me that motherboard was ok but some keys in laptop dont work

the computer seems to be 100% ok at least turn it on more than 24h and no turnoff and it was working like before.

however some keys dont work, lights turns on, but some of them not working, maybe water inside?

anyone with same problem or with experience that can give me some tips, and i will take to my friend again or buy a new one?

    thanks

Maybe check keyboard connector to ensure it is dry.

It could take more than one day to properly dry out the keyboard. Leave the computer somewhere warm with the display open to help any residual moisture to evaporate.

If it was just clean water then you have a reasonable chance of things working again. Other liquids usually leave deposits that adversely affect the electronics.

i would like to know if i will have to buy the full set, chassis + keyboard

or i can change only the keyboard, because ive seen only selling the full set on the net

is the keyboard fixed to the chassis or we can separate this 2 pieces

The keyboard is built into the keyboard surround / palmrest so it's all one unit.

It's a disadvantage of the thinner profiles with the separated key keyboards.

Hi tugapt, I'm Portuguese too, so if you guys don't mind I'll explain this procedure to him in Portuguese.. I'll translate it later.

Monta e testa. Se n resultar provavelmente tens algum componente danificado.

So.. Long story short, i recommended an old trick of mine, dip the watered part in isopropil alcohol to remove residues and let it dry.

    Good luck!
