    newbie here...

i just want to ask here.. i just bough series 3 samsung notebook NP350V4X-S021D

it's have an ivy bridge cpu..

    specification:
    i5 3210M 2.50Ghz
    4GB RAM
    HD 7670M

i wanna ask about switching the graphic...

everytime i launch game, it launched with the Intel HD 4000 graphic. i use the switchable graphic options on catalyst and set the game for the high performance. still the same, it still use HD 4000.

i checked the BIOS there's no option for the graphic. i uninstall the driver & install catalyst 12.8(downloaded from amd.com), it doen't detect my HD7670M & the HD 4000.

i already checked in device manager, in display manager there is 2 display:
    -Intel HD 4000
    -AMD HD7670M
and if i clicked it, it says the device working properly.

so i reinstall back the driver from the CD... im very confused right now, because i didn't found any one had this notebook & have same problem with me.

im just thinking that this notebook is just build up in my country ( Indonesia).

sry for my bad english & sry if I ask in the wrong place, because im very confused what to do right now.

I would start by making sure that the latest drivers are installed. If your computer has Easy Software Manager installed then it should find any updates. Otherwise you can go to the Samsung Global Download site and get the latest drivers. However, I should warn you that the list of all the computers is very long and can take several minutes to load before you can select your model. Also run the BIOS updater (under Firmware) to see if there is a newer BIOS.

    i already do that...

easy software manager says that my notebook is unsupported models, but if i run it from the DVD driver, there is no update for my notebook...

i already check the web before, i download BIOS updater & the result is only show "cannot download", then i already try download the intel graphic driver & amd driver. the amd driver is exactly same version with the driver installed in my notebook.

the intel driver just give error because didn't detect any intel device...

I've edited the title of this thread in the hope that someone with experience in making the AMD switchable graphics work properly can make a contribution. I don't have any first-hand experience in that area.

    UPDATE....

i download FurMark & it detects my AMD HD 7670M... i can do benchmark with it...

then i run Sleeping Dogs benchmark & FFXIV benchmark but it still using my Intel HD 4000, i already set High Performance for Sleeping Dogs & FFXIV Benchmark.

    now... im very confused... :(

Read through some of the Series 7 threads. The AMD graphics is used in some models so people may have encountered similar problems and have figured out solutions. Have you looked in the AMD graphics control software to see if it lets you define which programs use the AMD graphics?

did you mean the Catalyst Control Center?

Yes i did, in the switchable graphic i choose "High Performance" for games, not the "power saver" mode.

can u send me link the solutions that work for Series 7, maybe its work for me.. :D

    UPDATED...

i use GPU Shark from furmark to view my radeon activity...

and i screenshot the result my benchmark with sleeping dogs.

in the GPU shark its show my radeon card is working.. but in the second picture it shows the result, it tells that run with intel HD 4000.

what about your opinion? is it my radeon HD7670M do the benchmark or my intel HD?

and when i want to post this post, i look in the GPU shark it tells that my radeon its not working, i set my chrome in "power saver" mode in switchable graphic.

Hey what is the wireless card of your Samsung NP350V4X? Does it connect to the Internet slowly? On a wireless-N network does it connect more than 100Mbps, or even stay at a stable speed?

Oh lucky u! i bought the same NP350V4X but the thai version S04TH, but this damn thing came with an Atheros AR9485WB-EG card, one of the worst! can't connect past 90mbps and mostly connects at 2mbps! Btw what are your specs? and your windows experience indexing scores (located in system properties) for your processor, ram, graphics etc?

You can check your wireless card model in device manager. Yea its disappointing that the WEI only evaluates the Intel graphics, really wanted to know the score of the dedicated graphics.

and whats the resolution/mega pixels of your webcam?
