    Hmm, from notebookcheck's review:

It appears to be a great screen but with...not so good blacks, do you notice any greyish blacks? :p

Sorry about this questions but I rly need to choose my future LCD :p

Everyone has different perception so what I may notice may not be what you notice. I don't really notice much of a gray-ish black, but I would stick with what notebookcheck says, as they have hard, numerical data. What I say will just be subjective.

    and thanks cloudfire :3

    I think LGD02D9 is a great screen, better than AUO156HW1 V1.

I'm in love with this laptop except for one thing. Coming from a macbook pro, the 2 finger scrolling on this thing kinda sucks on the trackpad. Besides that, loving the machine :)

So do you guys think that I will notice much difference changing from LP156WF1 Glossy to LGD02D9 Matte?

hey mental cheers for the review!

just wanted to ask if you've owned any other gaming laptop prior to owning the np9150.
if you've tested this laptop against a worthy competitor (let's say, MSI or asus), it'll lend a lot more credibility to the review!

otherwise some people have a hard time imagining your expectations of this laptop... you may very well be comparing the NP9150 against a netbook, in which case 8.8/10 isint very flattering!

    Hi jonting91,
This is awakeN's review :p not mine. But answering to your questions, yes I did had another gamings laptops (Asus), and when I changed to my Clevo P150 HM I was very happy with the performance of the display (LP156WF1), but since I travel a lot...the glossy screen gets very dirty and has ANNOYING reflections which hurts a lot my eyes...
So I'm considering on changing the screen with matte when I upgrade to P150 EM, but changing and losing considerably colors, would make my investment not worth while.

This is why I'm asking for help/feedback regarding this matter :p

    Thank you,
    Best Regards to all

Sounds like the colors are incredibly important to you, but I don't notice a difference in colors between glossy and matte.

but thats just because im not very picky with the monitor, i just wanted a matte screen :p

Ugh I can't wait for mine to arrive. Even at work I'm just reading this forum on news about Sager and the 7970M.

I also ordered the P150EM with all branding removed. The 95% wide gamut matte, 7970M and the 750GB SATA 3 Hybrid. I'm going to replace the ram with CL9 1600, 1.35v (reviews say increase battery life by 30 minutes over the 1.5v ram), and will apply the ICD7 and thermal pads myself.

    I ordered from Larry @ LPC-Digital, final $1620 shipped.

Well, that should mean your wait times are going to be over soon. It's absolutely awesome, I've had it for a week and the only problems I've had are that things I've done wrong.

    Hang in tight!

Also, quick question for those who can answer it - when I record with FRAPS I get this incredibly annoying micro-stuttering that occurs about every 5 seconds or so. Do I need to record to a second hard drive? If so, can I record it to an external one?

Great review. I was waiting for a review like this for the NP9170. I´m also considering a matte screen. You mentioned that is a great screen and someone said that is possibly 72% because that comes with the stock option.

What I don´t quite understand is that I have read here that the stock screen matte is 72% Gamut, nevertheless when I see the options for this model in Xoticpc they have the options:
17.3" FHD 16:9 "Matte Type" Super Clear Ultra Bright LED Matte Screen (1920x1080) + $30
17.3" FHD 16:9 "Matte Type" Super Clear Ultra Bright LED Anti-Glare Screen w/ 72% NTSC Color Gamut (1920x1080) paying + $149

Isn´t supossed to be 72% gamut included in the regular stock being that one the first matte option?

I recall hearing something like that, or somewhere around 60% Not sure, though. Might want to check up about that on the resellers. I've never been too picky about the screen.

Hmm... that's odd. I guess that the screen on the P170EM is different than the P150EM's one. Or else the stock matte is below 72% gamut. Since I've just said I'm not too picky about the screen, what I love about it is probably garbage for someone who is very choosy in a screen's colors.

    Hi ppl,
After some investigation, I found out that the Asus N56VZ (the version with 1920x1080 matte screen), has the same screen of the P150EM :D

So I went to my local store to confirm that it was a LGD02D9 and to try it out with my wife...And I have to say that it rly is a beautiful screen, although the black levels are not as low as mine, it's not that noticeable since they didn't appear to me as grey-ish.
The view angles are also great and of course being matte, made my wife fall in love with the screen, since it will be much helpful on our travels :)

Bottom line: Great screen and it's worth the investment :) I hope that I can order my new P150EM soon eheh

    Best Regards to all

Overclocked the GPU to 900/1300. Hahaha, sexy results! I shall try again whenever I feel bold and confident that I won't fry my 7970M. Even when OCing the GPU never broke 72 C!!

    EDIT: tried 1/1.5 GHz. BSOD'd.

The stock matte display on these is 66% gamut.

Increments of 1 or 2 percent are best .And from what I hear 950/1450 is about the best you can get on stock voltage. Still a nice 10 percent oc on core and 20 percent on memory . Will give you a nice chunk of performance and ppl say its stable for gaming.

I had the 95% matte on my np9130. My np9150 will come with the 66% stock matte one and I'll be able to judge between the two but the 95% one was amazing (didn't calibrate it).

It's a Window's setting. A calibration tool will measure your screen, that's why the evironment lighting will affect calibration and why it's not recommended to get it calibrated by a reseller, their lighting conditions won't be same as yours. Then it creates a file which you run that will adjust your windows settings.

Unless you are doing truly critical work that needs to be exactly what prints from your printer etc, these 95% are good to go out of the box.

So in order to have the LP156WF1, the name must appear in the Monitor Hardware ID section?

I'm confused. The XMG A502 (W150ER) has a LP156WF1. Asus G55VW has either the LP156WF1 or the LGD02D9 depending on which model it is. Does anyone know how to tell with accuracy which stock matte display Sager uses?

The XMG A501 is from the older generation. The XMG A502 should have a different screen if I'm correct, same goes to the P150EM, but hey I could be wrong.

One thing is paper another is hardware, I highly doubt your hardware tells you the wrong thing, the paper on the other hand could be written mistakenly

My mistake for listing the XMG A502 (W150ER) as XMG A501. By monitor name I mean what is listed in HWinfo64. If anyone can clarify this please do, I would really appreciate it.

Well if anyone cares, it seems that I may have found the specifications for the stock matte display in my P151EM or something very close to it. Dell Precision M4600 seems to use the same screen as the stock matte screen available from Sager for the NP9130 (P151EM).

There is no way he can do so as there's no manual way to disable enduro in Clevo computers yet.. :(

oh wait, I am pretty sure you can disable it in some games though.. so that might check up on it

That doesn't seem to be the case for me. The Alienware scores P5802 with Enduro off, which is also what I got. Also, my Skyrim, BF3, and Crysis 2 FPS seem to be around what notebookcheck has.

    downloading right now :)
