Ok si here I am with my NH55acq (1660ti, 180w PSU). The laptop came back from the RMA, and they didn't experience the problems I had with my gen3 SSD. They claimed everything was fine. The vendor was the most stupid of the bunch, telling me 3200mhz wasn't supported and telling me they were losing their time trying to fit the parts I purchased separately. I was losing mine also :-(
So right now the 3900x is running fine on 2666 ram (kingspec bought on ali, what a joke !) With a sata SSD.
I ordered a crucial p2, and hopefully it'll fit. The comp is running at 3,6ghz and 1.075v. maybe i'll try to overclock the ram, but it looks ok.
Managed to get good Dpc latency, so I guess I will be able to work.

I have experienced the issue once, while working in Linux. It would indicate the problem is not Windows related but HW, EC firmware related probably. XMG Apex 15 (3950X, EC 1.07.04TR1).

So does anyone know how to get the RAM up to respectable speeds in this system? I have one with a 3950x, a single stick of 16gb 3200mhz RAM, and the Prema BIOS and I can't seem to get it higher than the default of 1600 mhz. If I try to change it at all in Ryzen Master, my system locks up and I'm forced to reset the BIOS via removal of the CMOS battery. Any guidance?

You could see the memory tuning guide by this XMG user:

In addition, be aware that in a laptop there are more constraints due to the space leading to compromises in PCB design and the use of SO-DIMMs which generally may prevent the achievement of the highest RAM speeds seen in the desktops.
Moreover, you generally want to have good RAM, I am using this kit: Kingston HyperX Impact DDR4 HX432S20IBK2/32 .
This works at stock sppeds and CL20 out of the box already, and it is based on Micron E-die. Samsung B-die is also a good choice: for understanding which die you have on your RAM, you should use Thaiphoon burner. I have done limited experiments by bringing my RAM to 3600Mhz CL22 but I did try it only once out of curiosity as I don't plan to overclock RAM as the performance level I get is more than enough for my needs (I even undervolted/underclocked the CPU in normal usage to get it as silent as possible)..

    Hi all,

I just watched 3DAndStuff's video on Apex 15 UV and OC, and am unclear on the procedures to find the best values for my laptop with 3700X

I want to use Zenstates because I dual boot to linux, so I can apply the same settings I found under windows10 to linux both using zenstates

I will start with 3DAndStuff's numbers in Zenstates. Lets take his 3700x 65W manualOC 4.00GHz/1.075V numbers for example, if I get higher than 65W "CPU PPT" on my HWinfo during CR20 runs, then I lower the voltage and freq and try again until I get a stable combination that's within 65W right?

Lastly, is there any reason he picked 65W as the target PPT?

    I left this message.
    There was some hope.

I'm currently using two geil 32GB (25600) 32GB. I was putting my Memory clock down to 2666 and there was a problem.

As the 16GB Hynix RAM (21300) was changed to two, the problem disappeared.
    Passed TestMem5.

Here's the screenshot of the Memory tab in CPU-Z, not sure if that's what you were referring to, but it's the closest I could find.
    Screenshot (29).png

And I'm not quite sure what memory die it is, it doesn't seem to say it anywhere.

Hi, where I can get Prema bios for my Dreammachines?
I switched from intel to amd and I hate ryzenmaster. I prefer to undervolt from bios.

I have Crucial and I can't set anything else either.

You have undervolt options from the bios level. Find on advance setup. I also have DM.

So it is B-die memory, if you need more info about it here's the screenshot:

    And also for you,
which version of the BIOS do you have? I have version 1.07.06, and don't have any of those controls.

Yes, but if you undervolting from this settings, you cant use turboboost, right? You now have CPU with 3.6ghz max freq instead 4.4 in boost, if you have 3700x.
In CCC you can set 4.2ghz, but I have BSODs.
I want to get undervolt offset.

I want to have a 17" version of this with thin bezels. Should be the size of my old 15" laptop then, but have a bigger display and better cooling than the Apex 15s.

Is something like this in development? Ryzen 5900 with RTX 3700 mobile?

    (Sorry for entering dreamland) :)

Micron B has a few issues with some timings. It has to run slightly higher tRCDRD, tRC and much higher tRFC than Samsung B-die. The last timing is very important in games and can account for 5-10% performance-difference alone.

Any link for purchase 3200Mhz Ram?

I bought the Corsair 4000Mhz, 4x8GB, does the Apex 15 has slots under the keyboard?

This memory is 1.35v for the 4000Mhz, i will keep them for the future if we can modify the volts for the SODIMMs.

Now THIS is exciting! Gimme a 17" version! But OK...if it supports Ryzen 5000, I'll probably pickup a barebones or Eluktronics (if their units support it as well). Origin prices are a bit too over the top for my liking.

So I've been encountering the same keyboard issue as several other people had been a while back. It also seems to affect the fan control, power button, and Control Center. Both times I've had it happen so far have been during highly GPU intensive games. The custom fan control software I installed, from Obsidian PC, reports that a "critical service has stopped responding" and presents an option to restart it, but that does nothing. This has only occurred after I upgraded my BIOS to the latest XMG BIOS and EC. I wonder if it's some sort of problem with this EC, as I didn't experience it before the update. Any ideas, or links to a different BIOS version I can load to see if that helps?

So the hesitation is due to the lack of 65W chips with only the 5600x and if a 65W mode would be supported and getting that in there. Probably AMD not being very communicative.

So a little bit of updates on the Zen 3 possibility and the keyboard/fan issues: first of all, Origin PC has taken down the Zen 3 configuration options. I wonder what would happen if you had ordered it in the time it was still available? And second, with the keyboard/fan issues, it seems not to happen unless the CPU is being overclocked or undervolted, at least from my limited testing. I don't know if it never happens, but it at least hasn't happened since I've stopped undervolting. Also, this is done on a 3950x, so it might be different for other configurations.
