Hi guys, I received my laptop from ProStar and it has a god awful, crooked company logo on the lid. They told me it is easily removable but no amount of pressure or length of nail seems to pry it off... It feels like the logo is metal with some sort of industrial strength adhesive.

Anyone have experience with removing logos like that without scratching the lid? I'm pretty pissed because this was one of to requests I made to ProStar and neither were obliged...

    Thanks, I appreciate any suggestions.

If you go to a store like AutoZone, they sell something called adhesive remover.

Should make removing the logo a breeze.

Have you tried asking them if they use something to help or have a certain technique?

I asked them, waiting for a reply. I used a sparkling knife and so far got the A and R off :) Very annoying...

Camp fuel (gasoline) works miracles for almost every adhesive. Specialised remover is mostly gasoline, only 50x more expensive.

It's a similar branding, but you could maybe try using fishing string (or in this video... floss?) to get underneath the logo and get it to come up. I don't think I would use a heat gun on it, but it might be worth trying to pry it up like this, instead of using a knife underneath and possibly scraping it up.

Be careful the chems are not too harsh. Like ssj92 recommended get a shelf adhesive dissolvant. With paint/lacquer thinner you may end up melting and warping plastic.

It's true. Vinegar sometimes works as well though to a lesser degree.

Soak in rubbing alcohol for an hour. It should just peel off.
