I hope you guys like the review ^^

    Here is my build:

    Model: MALIBAL SATORI (Clevo P170HM3)
    Display/Panel: LG 1920 x 1080 LED Full HD 120hz 3D Matte
    Graphics Card: Nvidia GTX 580M 2Gb GDDR5
    8Gb RAM Samsung DDR3 @1333
    Processor: Intel core i7 2630QM 2.0 to 2.9 Ghtz.
    Hard drives: Crucial M4 128gb SATA3 (6 Gbps) + Seagate momentus 500 GB X 2 (yes 3 hard drives ^^)
Cooling: IC Diamond thermal compound on Video Card and Processor.
Grade A 45 Day Perfect Pixel Warranty

I will start with the parts I liked the most and then the ones I believe need improvement.

    **** Display/panel: ****

The panel that came with my machine is an LG LED backlit Full HD Matte, capable of reaching 120hz refresh rate or 60hz with the Nvidia Stereoscopic 3D enabled. I believe this was my best upgrade to the machine, simply because it has a fantastic color reproduction, amazing viewing angles and it’s much easier to work on a Matte screen on my humble opinion. After this I will never use another Glossy screen =p The next pictures should show why I took this decision:

    Viewing angles:

    Front:
    Right Side:
    Left Side:
    Over:
    Under:

As you guys see the best angles are from side to side it is really pleasure to have you friends looking at your computer for games or movies, no matter if they are not too close to the center.

The Up/Down viewing angles are also pretty nice, even tho it shows higher-lower contrast-ratio after 45º you still won't see any the horrible Gamma issues that other displays have (when you see green borders on dark areas or yellow borders on white areas). Which is a nice thing specially when you do not have the screen right in front of you.

    Glossy vs Matte:

And this is why I love the matte finish *-*

Same room - Same light conditions, in reality the matte even looks darker, I cant even see my shadow, I guess my camera tried to compensate the exposure. On a personal note it would have been better if the bezel (border frame) was in matte too... to be honest that IS very glossy and distracting -_-

    120Hz:

Some people believe that the human eye cannot perceive over 60 frames per second but if you are a gamer you know that’s a huge LIE, the brain and the eyes work together to allow you to see high-speed action, the more frames per second you have the more fluid and impressive the action is.

Here is one example of how smooth the action looks on 120hz at 120 fps (I used 1/4 speed to make it more evident):

    <param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/WBu3_QkHuNk?version=3&amp;hl=es_MX&amp;rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/WBu3_QkHuNk?version=3&amp;hl=es_MX&amp;rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width='853' height="480" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

Edit2 bkDJ also recorded video at 120 fps vs 60 fps

    <param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Xv9pzQ8dP2o?version=3&amp;hl=es_MX&amp;rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Xv9pzQ8dP2o?version=3&amp;hl=es_MX&amp;rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width='853' height="480" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

    Brightness & contrast:

I have owned many laptops and also have friends with Machines like the Macbook Pro etc, but I have to say this screen is like nothing I have seen before, its so bright that I just cannot set it to the maximum level and read, but in the lowest level it reaches some superb Dark-contrast, it is definitely something you have to watch to understand, I think it can be compared to the dynamic contrast on Samsung plasmas, but without the annoying flickering =p

    Stereoscopic 3D

I'm planing to compare the performance with 3D on and off but this will be just numbers of some games since the Stereoscopic 3D effect can only be seen with the glasses.

    Color reproduction:

    Allow me to say my camera do not make justice to the colors on the screen, however compared to my G73JH this one has about 15~20% better colors. I have not calibrated a color profile yet so I will comment more after I have fully calibrated my display ^^;

    **** Graphics: ****

The Nvidia GTX 580M has proved to be a really good buy. At first I got it because of the promotion (for the FREE 120hz screen on MALIBAL), I do not really favor ATI or Nvidia, I go with the one that gives me the best performance for games, my last machine had the ATI 5870HD and It was a great acquisition for a year!

At any rate I rather let the videos speak for themselves:

    Battlefield 3:

    <param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/q-Ivy-wQGHc?version=3&amp;hl=es_MX&amp;rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/q-Ivy-wQGHc?version=3&amp;hl=es_MX&amp;rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width='853' height="480" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

Sonic Generations is one of the last sonic Games for PC, the speed feels amazing! ;)

    <param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/maFDbHsU2Eg?version=3&amp;hl=es_MX&amp;rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/maFDbHsU2Eg?version=3&amp;hl=es_MX&amp;rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width='853' height="480" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

    Crysis 2 (I hope you don’t mind is in Spanish =p ):

    <param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/WKFJlrvlKHo?version=3&amp;hl=es_MX&amp;rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/WKFJlrvlKHo?version=3&amp;hl=es_MX&amp;rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width='853' height="480" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

Everything looks so amazing when running at maximum (ULTRA) settings, but if you ask me I prefer using the native resolution with extreme settings to maximize the framerate over 75 and get the most of my 120hz screen ^^

    Need for speed World

    <param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/3pKT7eCO1KM?version=3&amp;hl=es_MX&amp;rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/3pKT7eCO1KM?version=3&amp;hl=es_MX&amp;rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width='853' height="480" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

Running on Full HD textures and everything on Max settings, this game is good to show the speed feeling of high framerates =) (you guys can also look at my other Need for speed word videos that I took on my G73JH but they where on 1600x900, no High-Ress textures)

    Unigine Heavens Benchmark Results (Stock)

I like the heavens benchmark because it’s a good tool to check the graphic card performance on DX11, looks cool and have a nice song ;)

edit2: With a small Overclock of 15% on all 3: Mem/Shader/Clock (1725/1426/713), and new 295.73 WHQL drivers, here are the results:

My temperatures went from 72C Max to 80C Max and I saw 2 artifacts during the benchmark ^^; pretty nice performance upgrade compared to the temperature gain in my opinion =p

    **** Cooling: ****

Ok I have 2 different opinions on this, first I must say the fan speed changes can be a bit annoying on a room with temperatures over 24C I never turn off my computer so when I go to sleep my machine will be downloading something and I usually change the plan to “quiet office” or “power economy”. Nevertheless the P170HM set the FAN of the GPU to medium when the temperature reach 42C and then it turns it back to low when it comes down to 38C… meanwhile the fan on the CPU stays on medium speed since the cores are usually around 40 to 50C. If you ask me I rather have the GPU FAN at a constant speed (medium perhaps?) and not changing back and forward every 2 to 5 minutes >.<

You won't notice the sound while working or gaming, but you will listen to the air flow going up and down when there are no other sounds (or when going to sleep with your computer on)… :p

    My second opinion is that the cooling system on this thing is FANTASTIC when its about doing what it was designed to (definitely not for some1 to fall sleep). So I did some hardcore gaming tests with different games and benchmark software and the highest temperature registered was 88C (no fn+1), then I tried using the fn+1 shortcut to allow my fans run at constant full speed, the highest resulting temperature then was 72C!!! OMG even when I had my G73JH with Cryo XL never got such amazing temperatures o.o. The P170HM Fan system really do a great job, definitely something you will appreciate if you are a gamer like me ^^;

    **** Sound: ****

When I tested the speakers for the first time I tough they were clear but low sounding, however after looking at this forum I found the fn+5 shortcut that activates the "depth" under the machine and also amplify the sound on the other two speakers, making it sound better than many laptops on the market.

    Sound Connectors:

The headphone port produce a very clear sound on my Sennheiser HD Headphones but lacks the powerful amplifier that my ASUS G73 had, for instance on that other machine I used the volume in 5 points while listening to music and on this machine I use 15 to get the same results, if you ask me, I always thought my ASUS was too loud for headphones ^^; . Nevertheless when the P170HM is connected to an external sound system that have its own amplifier this machine performs flawless! with clear and depth mids and highs =)

I noticed the HD-Sound port ( S/PDIF) have a Red LED inside witch makes it very cool to look from the side =p~ I haven't tested it on my home theater, I might do it later when I plug-in the machine to the big TV to play video-games or watch movies.

    **** Overall performance: ****

I’m very happy with the machine performance at this moment, the processor is much faster than my previous i7 720QM and can open my games as well as my applications in a blink of an Eye. Even tho I already have experience with SSDs (Intel G2) on my other machine, this time I can tell the difference on loading times for applications like ACDSee and Firefox now open in 1 to 2 seconds and before they took 3 to 4… I know it does no to sound like a big difference but it’s important to me ^^ plus my old games like Pangya load 3 times faster O.O than my previous machine with the i7-720QM =O~~~

    **** Interfaces: ****

The USB 3.0 are running fine but they do not go over 106 Mbps when copying files longer than 1Gb, I’m wondering if there is any driver to get better speeds, I was hoping for the 3.0 ports to go around 140 Mbps =p

    HDMI:

I tested the HDMI on a Plasma TV, the results were so amazing that I spent the whole day playing Games and watching Anime! Also, the NVidia Support for Plasma resolutions is still a bit better than ATI, because my 5870M had a small area on the borders that was not covered by the default resolutions, and there was no option to “adjust to the panel” like there is on Nvidia. The cool part is that my SATORI P170HM was able to detect the native resolution and show the perfect fit right away. Also I noticed the quality of the picture was pretty crispy like when using VGA or DVI. I remember HDMI was blurry when connecting computers to read, but this is not the case =)

    DVI:

Haven’t tested it yet but I will try to do it next week when I go to a friend’s house.

    **** Keyboard and mousepad: ****

I saved this for the end because it’s the part I have more complains about, at first glance the keyboard seems pretty standard but… probably the biggest issue with this keyboard is the layout, this just CANNOT be called a Full-Keyboard, simply because the numeric keyboard it’s so small and nonstandard that gets more complicated to use than the numeric line over the keyboard... As a matter of fact, when you want to use it as a calculator you end up hitting the right-arrow looking for the number 0. Even worse is the position they used for the “+”, “-“ and the “.” (dot) that will normally be at the left side of the Intro key. Oh yeah about the Intro… well you might just look at this picture:

I was so unpleased with the keyboard layout that I got myself a Wireless Backlit keyboard, but the principal reason that lead me to do it was the lack of backlit. I really use it during gaming and even on the everyday routine; it makes the keys more visible on any situation.

On behalf of this keyboard (if you plan to use): The keys feel very nice under the fingers, they have this “heavy feeling” on them that makes you believe they are made of aluminum even when they are not.

Regarding the mousepad I don’t have much to say. I have been using external mouse all my life. ATM I have a G9x so I have really no need for the mouse pad, I tested it a bit tho, All I can say is that it feels very precise, it should get the job done =)

PS: *This is a work in progress, I will post the videos on the panel and some more benchmarks ^^ If you guys need me to review something else please feel free to go ahead and do it :)

Excellent review! (Kinda NSFW pics for the viewing angle demo.)

I feel exactly the same about my machine, which is similar to yours! I'd like to add my feelings on some of your points:
    - the 120Hz is amazing. Fluidity of everything benefits, from mouse movements to game movements.
    - Brightness is crazy. I never use highest setting, though it is necessary (and automatic!) for 3D since the glasses eat half of all light.
    - the 3D looks great in games and videos (minor cross-talk with high-contrast, which happens a lot in Portal 2, but it's ignore-able considering the added depth perception which really helps!), but using Windows in 3D mode feels sluggish. I really don't like the primitive 3D toggling options. EXAMPLE 1: Dirt 2 and Crysis 1 are games I'm playing for the first time, but their 3D support isn't worth it, so I'd rather play in 2D. It would be nice to blacklist the apps, but I can't. As it is, I have to do the Ctrl+T hotkey to use 2D. And that would be fine if I had to do that once, but I have to do it every time I alt-tab too. Or check the NVIDIA control panel every time I play a game to turn it off/on accordingly. EXAMPLE 2: Firefox sometimes enables 3D mode if I open a 3D YouTube video, and then 3D mode won't turn off (even through the NVIDIA control panel) until I quit Firefox. Annoying if I had work-in-progress in another tab.
    - The keyboard layout is definitely the worst of any of the laptops I've ever used (that had a numpad). The lack of backlight is annoying considering other vendors (apple, dell) had that figured out years ago.
    - Cooling. While the fans and ICD7 do a great job cooling in general, the frequent GPU fan speed changes, at night when falling asleep, are more annoying than having the fan just stay at one setting.

Also you didn't review the speakers. I think they are ridiculously loud, and sound better than any other laptop sound system I've tried (my previous laptop, a NP9750 had 2.0 sound with 4 speakers and a subwoofer and it didn't sound nearly this good). Unfortunately, getting the Realtek interface to detect the 5.1 properly instead of just 2.0 seems kind of hit-or-miss that only a reboot can fix, and then it doesn't work well with on-the-fly switching to 2.0 headphones without also closing/reopening the program (most noticeable with skype)

Thanks for the tip, I added my comments on the sound ;)

BTW I just noticed the mouse smoothness (I tough I was becoming super-human or something :p hahaha). Before It was too hard to keep track of the mouse on the maximum speed (5900 dpi) but with the 120hz active its much easier to see and use =D

    That screen looks great!

I'm deciding wether to upgrade to this model from a (broken) gateway p-6831fx or not but this eye candy is very tempting!

As for the backlit keyboard I heard they're coming early next year.

Thanks for the review, keep benching it and keep us all posted!

Added some pictures on the Matte finish and my first attempt to show the difference between 60 and 120hz... not very useful with my photo camera XD~

would also like to know if the display is "shaking" when you write on the laptop on some unstable surface.

    thanks

I don't really use it on unstable surfaces, but I tested a moment ago and:

Yes, It does shake on a "back and forward" movement, even tho its just a bit, compared to other computers I have owned this one is probably one of the worse if you plan to use it on your lap or the bed... however I believe it is too heavy for that =p It will be a better idea to handle it as a desktop replacement.

Hmm from what I googled it should be ~4,4 kg? THe macbook pro is 3,6kg (if I remember right). And having the macbook pro with me in my bad is no problem :p but we will see :)

    That shaking however sucks :(

About the keyboard, I tested it for a while and the Keyboard itself have no problems, in fact it feels very nice and responsive for people that write very fast.

The real problem comes when you want to use the numeric side or want to look at it on low light conditions, then is a big pain in the rear... believe me if you guys use your machine on situations different than the office you might want to get an additional keyboard =p or if you only use it on good light just get a side numeric pad and you are ready to go ^^

I haven't been able to find a software that can record on 120 fps, a friend told me I should use an "actual camera" that record at 120FPS to be able to show people the difference on the panel frequency.

Anyways I shall probably make a video while running "Deus EX: HR" or "The Witcher 2" ^^

You can only show 120Hz on a 120Hz screen...otherwise it`s like filming HD and showing it in SD. ;)
What you could do is load one of these websites that have black lines in the background. On 60hz they flicker a lot on 120Hz they are stable.

Have an example website? I don't know of any.

Also, I believe you can set FRAPS to record at 120fps. but then you'd have to encode it to quarter-speed (30fps) if you want to show the smoothness on youtube (you'd think that with 1080p support, they'd increase the framerate limit from 30...)

The witcher 2.. good idea cause I can't wait to try it out on my new MALIBAL as well :D

Tbh, everyone who uses that laptop as desktop replacement should have an external keyboard.. if possible a mechanical one (<3 my Majestouch Filco Tenkeyless with MX-Brown switches).

Wow man you finally did it!! I think your video truly shows the difference between the 60 and 120 ^^ even tho some people wont be able to notice during gameplay, some dudes with good eyes and gamers surely will appreciate the advantages of the 120hz panel.

I uploaded it on the main post for others to see ^^

I tried a 15% OC on the GTX580M today, and here are the results:

My temperatures went up 4C+ from 72 to 76C on the Graphic card, I edited the main post for everyone to compare ;)

I recorded a video on both 60 and 120 FPS with fraps, then used 1/4 of the speed with power director ^^ Its much easier to see the difference like this:

    <param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/WBu3_QkHuNk?version=3&amp;hl=es_MX&amp;rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/WBu3_QkHuNk?version=3&amp;hl=es_MX&amp;rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width='853' height="480" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

    =p I'm loving this screen~ yeah!

I truly hope you guys can get it too, cause it goes easier on your eyes as well :D I usually stay over 5 hours a day in front of the computer and this really helps ^^

*I probably should have gotten the 3D kit, in my country is 50% more expensive... =p~~~

SHEET 120hz? I want that... i cud play quakelive on the go. Bought my np8130 like 4 months ago, but I wouldn't ever get a 17in laptop again.
    Any input lag?
quakelive is terribad on laptop displays because of input lag. 60hz is bearable on good displays. Like my 120hz LCD, when I hook it up on hdmi, it only runs at 60hz. It's still very playable, but not nearly as smooth. On laptops the input lag is very bad, even the np8130 has this problem... actually almost all lcds have this problem, yes TN panels.

Technically speaking, they have one. It just happens to be 1366x768 and overall not great quality. Now, a 1080p 15.6" 120hz monitor would be excellent :)

Hey guys I just made a video running on FULLHD Battlefield 3 on my SATORI:

    <param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/uXYMf4Dr9RM?version=3&amp;hl=es_MX&amp;rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/uXYMf4Dr9RM?version=3&amp;hl=es_MX&amp;rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width='853' height="480" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

    My settings are:

    Native Ress Full HD: 1920 x 1080 @ 120hz
    Textures: ULTRA
    Everything on: High
    AA: Off
    Ambient occlusion: HABO

    Avg Framerate: 55~80
    Max: 90
    Min: 45

The game looks amazing but to be honest, thats all there is, the campaigning is short and dull and the 360 controller compatibility is limited (not even vibration or screen display).

    ;) Waiting for COD MW3!

Have you tried the witcher 2 already ? With my GTX 560 & better CPU I can run Crysis 2 on max settings & fullHD.. the witcher2 only works on maximum (not on very maximum of whatever the english translation is :p) & fullhd. I wonder if your GTX 580 with the lower CPU will manage the highest settings (4th gfx configuration) :)

    Here is mine:

I will try the witcher 2 a bit and see how it goes =) perhaps I shall make a video on that game, like I just did on Battlefield 3 a moment ago:

    <param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/q-Ivy-wQGHc?version=3&amp;hl=es_MX&amp;rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/q-Ivy-wQGHc?version=3&amp;hl=es_MX&amp;rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width='853' height="480" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

A friend asked me to show a bit more fighting =p

Hey guys. I just wanted to show you this small video I recorded on the new Sonic generations:

    <param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/maFDbHsU2Eg?version=3&amp;hl=es_MX&amp;rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/maFDbHsU2Eg?version=3&amp;hl=es_MX&amp;rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width='853' height="480" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

Yes I practiced the stage twice btw... And I'm loving the Audio in Japanese!

Its Nice game =) but the frame rate is limited to 59 fps =p (no matter if you change the options to 120 or disable vsync) I hope the developers make a patch, It will be so amazing to play it on 120fps *-*

Hi Mubay, I'm thinking of purchasing your model too, could you suggest to me which screen is better?

    1920 x 1080 FHD LED AUO B173HW01 V.5 72% NTSC Matte Display
    OR
    1920 x 1080 FHD LED Backlit 120Hz 3D 72% NTSC Matte Display
I'm looking for in picture quality, btw, nice anime posters you got in your room ;)

o.o I haven't seen those displays so I cannot say for sure sry ^^; what I can tell you is that this display is WAY brighter than anything I have seen before (including Mac Book PRO LED Displays). I hear it has something to do with the 3D feature, but I don't use it most of the time, so when I take the brightness to the max, all the colors and details look superb!! However its kind of painful (too bright) on the eyes if you are not on a well lighted room =p

Today I recorded some action on Modern warfare 3 at 1080p:

    <param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Al_8dXmu8tQ?version=3&amp;hl=es_MX&amp;rel=0&amp;hd=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Al_8dXmu8tQ?version=3&amp;hl=es_MX&amp;rel=0&amp;hd=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width='853' height="480" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

With everything Maxed out I get around 90~120 FPS, and as low as 45 when recording on 1920 x 1080.

This game is still not better than the first Modern warfare (COD4) on my humble opinion. They took away some features that Call of duty black ops had, like the XBOX controller support or the native Nvidia 3D vision... Infinity Ward just lost a customer here =S

Hope you guys enjoy it tho ;)

Hey guys I just updated my Drivers to the 295.51 Beta and made a small 15% Over-clock on my 580M here are the results:

    Max temperature was 80C.

Compared to my Previous results on the same OC 15% you can see a very nice improvement:

    Old results:

You guys should try these new driver ;) I will be doing some gaming test later.

I installed the new Nvidia Drivers WHQL 295.73 yesterday and made some tests on 15% OC:

The best part is not the small performance improvement but the fact It seems more stable than the Beta drivers while they also provide LOWER temperatures :D I'm very pleased with it! So I made a commemorative video playing Blade and Soul:

    <param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/l-EEYF5fx54?version=3&amp;hl=es_MX&amp;rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/l-EEYF5fx54?version=3&amp;hl=es_MX&amp;rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width='853' height="480" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

    See ya guys around ;)

Very well done review on your laptop. It is a shame you're disappointed with MW3. But there plenty of other FPS games out there. See you on the battlefield.

Thanks for all the info! I read somewhere else that Sager is no longer offering the 120Hz screen? Will this option continue to be available?

It is true that Sager no longer offers the 120hz. Any Sager resellers are no longer able to get it. They might bring it back some day as it was a popular option but there is no info if they will or not.

I'm very sure 120hz displays will keep coming out for Clevo machines. They might be preparing for the next-gen Laptops (like Prema mentioned), or maybe a new 3D technology is coming out? o.o I'm truly expecting something that does not need the Glasses kit -_-

Anyways. I recorded another Gameplay video on Blade and Soul (The finished game is coming out late this year, this is a Beta Gameplay):

    <param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/monfq_J4zMc?version=3&amp;hl=es_MX&amp;rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/monfq_J4zMc?version=3&amp;hl=es_MX&amp;rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width='853' height="480" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

Make sure to watch it on Full-HD ;)

    Enjoy your gaming~

Regarding your comparisons between 60Hz and 120Hz, if you're displaying a 120 FPS video at 1/4 the speed, wouldn't the video be at 30 FPS? Your video is now 4 times slower, so each frame would now last 4 times as long, meaning you can now only fit 30 frames in 1 second, correct? Similarly, if you're showing a 60 FPS video at 1/4 the speed, isn't it now 15 FPS?

Or am I fundamentally missing something here?

Keep in mind FPS and hz are different. They do have similarities but they are not the same thing. A movie playing a 30FPS will be 30FPS but the screen will still refresh at 120hz.
