Sager has mine, I just cant believe they would sell it like it is w/ such a terrible screen. Either way, my new rig should be here next week. Looks like I am using my wife's MBP if I need to use a laptop.

Thanks for that! Not really a problem, to me anyway, but a minor annoyance that I would occasionally trigger a touchpad learning video while typing. LOL... Rep+

I noticed all of those learning videos in the Synaptics program files directory. If you are worried about triggering them, maybe removing or renaming them would avoid that.

Yup, I went to the folder and deleted all of them. I'm not sure why that one scrolling vid would randomly pop up out of nowhere.

That happened on my M860TU as well, after upgrading to newer touchpad drivers.

anyone have problems with the video card going haywire every now and then. Mine will show a bunch of dots and the drivers keep crashing. I have to shutdown the computer completely and then start it back up.

Yeah, I guess you're having the same problem I did. Apparently there are 2 different mobility driver packages floating around. The one I downloaded from AMD's website did not work (filename: 11-4_mobility_vista_win7_32-64_ccc.exe).

However, these do work: http://forum.notebookreview.com/sager-clevo/571199-amd-catalyst-11-4-8-841-april-5-win7-vista.html. Go to the first page of that thread and you'll see the download link. The filename should be 11-4_mobility_vista_win7_64_dd_ccc_ocl.exe. These are the official 11.4 WQHL drivers, and they come directly from ATI's website, and the driver version should be 8.841.

You need to monitor your temperatures. Is it overheating?

Run HWMonitor, before you load the game, then play for a few minutes.

Does anyone know if it's likely clevo will enabled gpu switching in this chassis? From what I read all core I have integrated gpu but chassis dictates whether enabled or not.

Is there any fix for the fans cycling yet? Also, is there any way to automatically enable the wireless so it detects my network at startup? Auto enabling BT would be nice too...

Wireless automatically activates for me. As far as bluetooth there should be an option in your BIOS. It will give you the choice to automatically disable bluetooth upon restart (default) or to maintain whatever the setting was before shutdown.

I can't find the BT option anywhere...Also, no idea why my Wireless isn't detected at startup, I have the option to automatically enable WiFi selected but it doesn't seem to work. And I still notice the fans cycling. None of these things are big deals, just curious.

The Zalman NC2000 works fine and I use the NC3000S as well. I find better temps with the NC3000S because it raises the back more but you can also use the feet to raise the NC2000 as well.

Am I an outlier, in that I don't have fan cycling?

Both of my fans run at a constant hum, with little to no variation.

They released an EC to fix that behaviour for the 150 so it is either your Bios or maybe that only happens with the Nvidia GPU's. I am assuming that it is the GPU fan that ramps up and down so much.

A P150HM user said the Bios EC update fixed the fan ramping issue so I guess it must be the Bios only then.

Nice, I found the BT setting and it works automatically now, but still trying to get the wireless to work automatically. The guy at Sager just told told me automatic wireless detection isn't possible, even though that definitely doesn't sound right, lol...And he didn't know about the fans surging fix. Anyone know about this?

Just by raising my back feet on the lappy, I lowered the temps by 5 degrees F. Also got it closer to my eyes as I gotta use reading glasses.

Has anybody had any experience with letting windows update put explorer 9 on. If so, has there been any bad things?

Internet Explorer 9 is fine. Seems much faster the 8, although I don't really bother with it much. You definetely shouldn't run into any issues from updating. Besides, IE is notorious for security holes, so you might want to stay up to date with it even if you don't use it.

is there a way to remap the keyboard keys. I use end a lot and with this keyboard you have to either shutoff the numpad or press FN first which is dumb i think. I would like to remap Ins or Pause/Break to End instead.

For the international purchasers using U.S resellers

-please note to ask them to write on the shipping bill - "Laptop Computer" if they have to mention accessories they can add "laptop computer and its relevant accessories". They should not write "Laptop computer + computer accessories" as I'm having challenges with italian customs now and have to wait until Monday for customs to open the package. They believe I purchased ulterior accessories not included in the laptop and accessories is vague so they want to check what accessories is. What do they it can be - rare counterfeit human organ accessories???? Another weekend of waiting.

P.S - Shipping with Ups was very quick and efficient - Xoticpc
    Departed - May 4 @ 16:50
    Arrived Bergamo, Italy - May 6 @ 05:05

Whoa. Had a weird thing happen. I was playing Bad Company 2, the machine stuttered a couple times, then I lost control of my player, then the machine just turned off instantly!

Strange thing was once I started the computer back up (thankfully it did), batterybar was showing my battery charging and had consumed a few percent of battery. Wondering if there's an issue with the power supply?

I had something similar happen the other day where my laptop just shut its self off. It's only happened once so I figured it was just a freak thing. Maybe it's another issue with the recalled motherboards, who knows...

Well, I never actually have it on my lap. I almost always sit in a large over-stuffed leather chair. I then place a piece of 3-4 ft steel wire-type closet shelving across the arms to make a quasi desk-shelf.

I then place the Cryo and laptop on this "desk".The shelving allows air to the laptop bottom if I'm not using the Cryo.

I did unplug and replug it in since it seemed like a power issue, but didn't pay much attention how well connected it was, hopefully that's all it is.

Just moving your laptop around, whatever could do that I guess.

My temps are always <72 CPU and <80 GPU, usually less than that. Bad Company 2 tends to stress it the most though.

More than furmark? That's not good...maybe it's time you start thinking about a notebook cooler then...

I would never let my laptop (or any laptop, really) hit temperatures above 75C. But then again, maybe I'm OCD about my machines because I love to take care of them, lol :p
