Mine is shipping to me as we speak, anyone have any reviews on this model yet? I cant find any feedback at all when searching the internet.

 

Looks like the 15" version of mine which is the np8378f2.

It has a couple of differences w the 4k screen on this one vs the hd 144hz gsync screen on mine and the single color keyboard instead of per key like the 17"

Thermals and performance should be very similar. You can check out the thread I have on mine. I put a lot of benchmarks and temps and such in it. It'll be nice to see how yours compares. Especially for CPU thermals.

Thanks I'll check it out, 15 felt like the right size for me, i just started gaming on a 4I desktop and noticed a difference and hopefully I notice a positive difference between 1080 and 4k on this laptop.

Noise, thermals, and performance is what I'm interested in, I also intend to transfer my windows 10 installation to a new ssd I purchased so hopefully that is easy.

Good news for all of us is that pcgamer just reported dlss 2.0 will allow good 4k gaming even on a 2060 so we should see a bump in our gaming performance soon.

 

The OLED is very nice for content consumption

 

Replaced my old NP8672 with an NP8358(tried to find the thread for that model and there isn't one so here I am). As far as I can tell the only difference is the 4k screen which I didn't care to pay for since I have an external for that anyways.

One issue I had with mine is my external HDD's, I have three of them, were causing interference with the wifi signal and I had to move them out from behind the laptop. The wifi antenna in this laptop do terminate right at the back bottom of it so 3 spinning disks messing up its signal isn't THAT surprising but the old NP8672 had no issues with the HDDs being there.

 

That's going to depend on exact antennae positioning.

 

Not like it's a bad thing IMO. Just design that has to be worked around a little and on a desktop replacement with this much packed into it I expected that. Still very happy with the purchase!

 

You may find adjusting the screen angle could help.

I just bought one of these bad boys and I'm so excited to receive it (with a few upgrades, of course)! But man is it ever hard to find information on this particular laptop. Has anyone done any reviews? When I look up the model, I think I get results to a previous years version with older specs. Is our laptop a 2020 refresh or something? If so, what has changed in the current notebook, besides the CPU and GPU upgrades? Is there a link to a parts list or a manual or something like that?

A few more questions:
Has anyone attempted to overclock the refresh rate of the 4K OLED panel @ 1080p?

Does anyone know if the display panel the laptop comes with is the same one that Samsung unveiled at CES last year?

Anyone have pics or vids of the chassis itself?

Has it arrived? If so, care to share some thermals, pics, etc? Did you get anything custom done to yours (thermal paste, ram upgrade etc)? Do you play any games? How was the 4k gaming experience if you tried it? How does the 4k screen look when the resolution is set to 1080p? Still crisp?

When you say bricked what exactly is it doing? Why were you resetting the BIOS?

I'd like to add that my wife noticed that sometimes the screen flickers, so I think the OLED panel is actually turning on as well.
