Yeah, Just posting as fyi. Thx for the response. I went thorough all that 3 months ago. Not interested in spending time hacking the bios and not giving up half my memory.
    I’ll live with it.

With 12th gen right around the corner clearly something is up taking this long.

How could Prema not have had a machine and access all this time? That doesn't make sense.

Very much so. I just picked up a used spec'd out X170SM-G and called it a day. Still have hope for the KM to work out its bugs though.

I wish many laptop makers would just post the BIOS on their driver page like motherboard makers do. I can understand something specialized like Prema requiring remote installation, but for stock BIOS updates? Stop making it so difficult.

Here the files, to reset the XMG bios entrys back to Clevo :)

Only the SKU entry is still empty and not "Not Applicable". I'll try to fix it also.

Edit: SKU is fixed. Now its a 100% reset!

No, i dont bought from HIDEvolution. But my reseller say the same - its not available. I got the Bios from @yasarbas

I started to work now (7:00 AM in germany) and see whats happens. Yesterday the X170KM-G works for 4 hours without shutdown with the 1.07.07 and OC on.

    Edit:
I found a not working device in the device manager > system devices. It called "WDF insyde io". I removed it and it don't come back. Maybe it was removed with the new bios? Do you have this device?

And today i got a driver update in Windows 11 but i don't find informations about that.

I run Windows 11 in the Insider Dev Channel.
    I don't have 1.07.07 installed. I have 1.07.05RTR1-G2 from XMG installed.
I also don't have any missing drivers.

Man, I ordered a brand new build on October 22nd. On October 27th they told me the CPU was on special order. It's now Nov 5th and my build is still awaiting ordered part. I could have had Newegg, Amazon or B&H Photo get them the CPU in 2 days with free shipping. Everywhere the CPU is in stock. Starting to re-think HIDEvolution. When you're dropping $3200 for a laptop you'd think it would be handled a little bit better. If they hadn't sent me the Guardians of the Galaxy key I may have cancelled and went with XoticPC.

HID evolution is slow that is certain but in fairness to them supply chains have been short. They didn’t have a 3080 on hand so needed to send it out I’ve been without a laptop for a month. So I get it
What cpu did u get ? Could you just get a different one that’s in stock ? Or have them just send it with no cpu and give you credit ? Then just order and do yourself. I wish I did that honestly would of saved money on ram because there ram is awful with there name brands having high density sticks

Just an I5-11600K to keep thermals down along with the 3080. It is in stock everywhere online with free 2 day shipping and should not be at 9 days wait time.

I have been doing a ton of reading on single rank ram and 50% of the articles say it's supposed to be faster because the data has to take less trips around the "track" and doesn't have to make more laps to access the 2nd rank. The ranks cannot be accessed simultaneously anyway. Some say at least if one rank fills up it has a 2nd rank to fill. Then there are those articles that mention more latency because of "stalling" in the pipeline when dual ranks are being accessed.

Yesterday did my own testing on an 11th Gen intel CPU with 2 single rank 8GB so in dual channel, 1 Single rank 16GB and 1 dual rank 16GB. I ran memory benchmark tests and the test concluded 2 8GB in dual channel single ranks were much faster than a dual rank 16GB sodimm. The single rank 16GB module was the slowest.

Your right I was thinking of high density ram and low density there ram is high density dual rank and single are not to much between them

Dual rank ram is ideal as it can parallelise them.

XMG writes about the 1.07.07 bios

"...but 1.07.07 should bring G-SYNC to the new WQHD panel"

I have the 1.07.07 now for four days with enabled OC and since i update to this new bios, i had no uncontrolled shutdown. Thats really great! Maybe they found the problem :)

Yes, it used it with different XMG and non-XMG versions.

XMG writes in Discord, the Ultra 17 are the same as the X170km-g. No special XMG hardware specifications or something like that.

I'm not sure what the "official" Windows instructions are, but this is what I did:

For EC update I followed the X170KMG_EC10703\ECWinFlash\Windows_ECUpdate_SOP_1.9 - Eng.pdf instructions and ran X170KMG_EC10703\ECWinFlash\ECWinFlash.exe

For Bios update I ran X170KMG_B10707\X170KMG_B10707\ALL\X170KM07.exe

    Both worked fine.

Again, do at your own risk, it worked for me though.

Thank you for sharing the file, there was some extra's in that file that will be handy, don't know if you noticed FITC and the Sign firmware tools in that zip file.

Flashed it then manually setup Gear 2 (Don't ask how all i will say is NVRAM Edit) as it still has the bug in there where it still going to Gear 1 on 4 sticks which causes the No POST problem, but its working well, feels snappier too with this bios.

Will do a benchmark run later on today got to wait on battery to charge to 100% before i start abusing my X170KM with the benchmark tests.

Then will mess about with the Sign Firmware stuff so i can unlock what i need to unlock and then sign the firmware with it.
