BTW, this model is in stock and ready to build and ship with the 10th Gen CPUs from all authorized Sager dealers. The 11th Gen CPU's coming soon....

The max TGP 165W (150W + 15W Dynamic Boost) is capped in hardware by NVIDIA or theres a way to flash a new vbios with higher power limits like 200W?
-

AFAIK:
No higher power limit signed vBIOS
Can’t flash unsigned vBIOSraz8020 likes this. -

Very nice) Could anyone confirm if system is equipped with HDMI 2.1? Would be great.
Of course, 1440p panel option is, sadly, not present. May be they add it down the road.
Also, will it support PCIe 4.0 ssd with 11th gen cpus? I see MXM is 4.0, so should be the same for ssd) -
- Support one M.2 2280 SSD PCIe Gen4x4 (depends on CPU / only with 11th gen)

Is the 11th Gen a different socket than the 10th Gen or can you upgrade the older clevo from 10th to 11th Gen cpu?

It is confirmed by Clevo that this model does have a HDMI 2.1 port...

Same socket but 11th gen uses more of the pins for the m.2.

As I had a scale handy here is the weight of the X170KM-G that is quite a bit higher than some sources have it:
The laptop itself including the battery almost exactly comes out to 10 lbs while the whole bundle of 2 x power supplies, power supply cage and power cables comes out to another 5 lbs. So 15 lbs it is when taking this one on the road.
The brilliant setup where Clevo requires the owner to lug two 280W power supplies around to get normal performance has been kept for all versions including the one with the RTX 3060.Mister-Knister likes this. -

Weight and volume are unfortunately both an issue with air travel these days so Clevo should offer some kind of Y-adapter to connect one power supply to both sockets especially for hardware combinations that do not need more than one 280W adapter in the first place.
In the end I still love the X170 because of its second to none servicability and modularity and because it takes 128 GB of memory but I wish they would have invested more thoughts into the basic design and software and less into LED stripsJaces9900, Papusan, Mister-Knister and 1 other person like this. -
You can also get this splitter so you only have to take up one outlet: https://www.amazon.com/Cable-Leader...+x2+16awg&qid=1605058991&s=electronics&sr=1-2
That way none of us have to be the douche that hogs more than one power outlet to ourselves at the airport.
The only thing this laptop is missing is a MUX switch. If it had one, it'd be the ultimate laptop. Yes, I know DTRs are not meant for ultra long battery life, but that would be an easy way to get significantly longer runtime off the laptop when needed.Jaces9900, Papusan, 1610ftw and 1 other person like this. -

For this generation of mobile cards the 3060 and 3070 are definitely less gimped than the 3080!
-
The mobile 3060 will be the closest to its desktop counterpart in performance. The extra 6 GB of VRAM on the desktop card doesn't mean anything since you won't be able to take advantage of it.

To be fair, the mobile 3060 also has more CUDA cores, and the desktop 3060 is mediocre, performing around a 2060 Super or 2070.

The extra ram would be nice for the future.

What would you suggest GPU wise with an i5 11400F config RTX 3070 or RTX 3060?

Ok thanks for that, coming from a GTX 970m (as my GTX 1060 died). Just after 144fps total. Looking for under 2K

The 3070 will add another ca. 30% performance increase but if you only need 144Hz you should be fine with the 3060 - it is just about on par with the 2070 Super in the last model.Clamibot, Mister-Knister and hacktrix2006 like this.
