Still doesn't officially come with 1080. I'm assuming heat is a major issue.

that would be the perfect config for me, 1080 in a 15 inch form factor :) id just do the upgrade myself, pretty confident i could get the temps in check with repadding/repasting and maybe a lil UV...

I don't understand why anyone hasn't done it yet. I'm sure it'll work (there should be no power or compatibility issues).

Would be awesome if we could spend a bit extra and purchase the 15" with a 1080 config.

ikr?! so far ive only seen obsidian do that "mod", but u still have to specifically ask for it, theres no option for it in their configurator.

in any case, if id purchase a new machine right now, it would be a P751TM with 8700K and a 1080 in it :D

    8-Core Z390 + GTX 1180 with a 2560x1440 120hz display in 15.6" form factor would be great. :D

Soooooooo, I figured this thread would be the best option for my question instead of hitting up my owner's lounge or starting a new thread, but could it be possible to install the P751TM motherboard in the P750DM2-G chassis? I'd love to purchase the 8600K and the P751TM motherboard for 6 thread performance next year!

I assume at this time only Clevo knows, but I hope someone at a boutique might know something!

At first glance - definitely change the 1 stick of 16gb RAM to 2x8gb

That will be a nice little system. No 120hz display option?

    Hey there TBone,
What is the reason for changing the ram to 2 sticks instead of one?
I will hook this machine to an external monitor so is there really a need to get the 120hz one?

Moving from single channel (single stick) to dual channel (two sticks) yields a small performance increase, though 1x16GB does make expansion easier in future.

What was the the 9155's predecessor? I just ordered my 9155 and I can barely contain my self out of excitement. I'd love to see videos of the laptop chassis if there are older models out there with the same size / form factor.

At this moment Tornado F5 is the only 15.6" laptop with MXM3 based GTX 1080 GPU. We are looking at supporting GTX 1080 in P750TM1 too but don't see big demand for it. Any interest in VEGA10 MXM3 option? AMD has MXM3 VEGA10 in planning - but we need to push them to make this to happen.

Would it be actual Vega 10 like the RX Vega 64 and 56? If so would it be standard mxm style or Clevo mxm style?

    Also if we can crossfire?

Any word on the dreaded refresh rate limiting "Optimus" on the Nvida chips and whether the 15.6" IPS screen can be run at 75/100Hz?

Intel now lets you customise resolution/refresh rate with a little work around :)

But the desktop CPU systems have never used optimus or even had the IGP enabled.

When are you expected to receive it? Might be good to post your review too as mine won't be done soon.

EDIT: What's the difference between the TM and TM-G versions? I know @Ted@HIDevolution mentioned to me that the 750/751 difference is that the 751 chassis is for the European market. The Clevo website doesn't go too much into detail with it.

Next gen won't be out for about a year...and it is highly doubtful that it will support the highest GeForce card.

How about the GTX 1070 Ti?

Some expect a substantial price drop in the 1070 Ti once the next gen comes out - would be a good upgrade option then, yes?

There are no plans for MXM3 based 1080Ti or 1070Ti. These GPUs are not available for laptops from Nvidia.

Thank you very much everyone! Fascinating info.
I don't really need GTX 1080 on this model now, but I may (but also may not - getting a real job soon, less time for gaming) need it in ~2 years. Would you say it's a good idea to get the 1070 or 1060 for this now and manually upgrade to 1080 later?

I also appreciate how you run your benchmarks with Windows 7. I've been considering using Windows 7 for my new machine instead of Windows 10, after experiencing worse stability on 10 than 7 on my old machine. Would you say 7 is a better choice than 10 for this model? Thank you!

Has no one got this model yet? Still waiting on photos. Mines should arrive in a couple of days.

I should get mine tomorrow. I have to install my Intel 8265 card on it, so I’ll take a picture of what I can.

I bought the 3DMark bundle over Steam, so I’ll get those results as well. What else? Cinebench?

Should I do the bench test after I’ve installed all my stuff (games, hardware/temp monitors/other software)?
