    ++RTX with larger resolution please!

My needs are graphical/CAD/design/creative/mapping business and gaming. GTX 1070 is currently pretty good, the RTX 2060 (apparent equivalent to GTX 1070 Ti) with larger than 1080p (anything at any Hz) would be an awesome mobile and featured config, great performance, and attractively priced!

    17.3"
    Thin bezel, thin laptop
    3K or 4K
60Hz/120Hz/144Hz <- as a business and gaming user happy to sacrifice Hz for Resolution
    16:9 or 16:10 ratio
    RTX 2060 for value

    Then, in 2021, will trade in for a RTX 3000, with 4k / 144Hz, no-bezel :D

Weird thing is there is no boutique from Europe offering this laptop at the moment. This is the real replacement for previous PA71 series. It's only HIDevolution that offers this laptop from US. Please provide this laptop in Europe with 3K or 4K panel, not just FHD. I'm not a gamer but a dev. and I need the real estate!

Lots of sites only like to offer a machine when it's ready to build and ship. So wait a couple of days.

Yeah, anyone grab this yet? Can't seem to find a better deal for a full 2070 on 17in, the g-sync is a really nice plus. I'd love pictures and dimensions.

Anyone with any new or updates on this model? Been looking around, all I've found so far:
    https://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=no&u=https://www.multicom.no/systemconfigurator.aspx?q=st:1500010180&prev=search
Actually looks pretty nice. Their configuration comes with thunderbolt (which has been missing from a lot of the Clevo/TongFang RTX chassis laptops we've seen) and the i9-8950hk or i7-8750h, so it likely has pretty good cooling if it can handle the i9.

    Their listed specs:
    • 17.3 "matt 144Hz display with Full HD resolution, 72% NTSC
    • Intel Core i7-8750H processor 2.2GHz ~ 4.1GHz with Hyper-Threading, 6 cores / 12 wires
      or Intel Core i9-8950HK processor 2.9GHz ~ 4.8GHz with Hyper-Threading, 6 cores / 12 wires
    • GeForce RTX 2070 8GB GDDR6
    • Up to 32GB DDR4 2400MHz SO-DIMM memory (Dual channel, 2 tracks)
    • Space for 2 PCIe SSD M.2 and 1 pc 2.5 "7mm HDD / SSD
    • 802.11 ac / a / b / g / n wireless network card - Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 9560
    • Bluetooth 5
    • 10/100 / 1000Mbps network card
    • Full-HD 2.0 Megapixel webcam
    • Creative Sound Blaster X Pro-Gaming 360 with 7.1ch audio support
    • Built-in microphone
    • fingerprint reader
    • 1 x HDMI 2.0 with HDCP
    • 1 x miniDisplayPort 1.3
    • 1 x Thunderbolt 3 - 40Gbps / USB 3.1 Type-C
    • 1 x USB 3.1 Type-C
    • 1 x USB 3.1
    • 3 x USB 3.0 (one with power share)
    • 1 x S / PDIF digital output
    • 1 x Headphone output / microphone input
    • Memory card reader (MMC, RS MMC, SD, mini SD, SDHC, SDXC up to UHS-II))
    • Battery life: about 350 minutes (UMA mode)
    • Removable 6 Cell Battery Lithium Polymer 62WH
    • Full Range AC Adapter 230W 100-240V 50-60Hz 19.5V 11.8A
    • Kensington lock slot
    • Touchpad with scroll function, supports multitouch
    • Size 399 x 275 x 29.9 mm (WxDxH)
    • Weight: about 2.9 kg with battery
Some dimension (w x d x h) comparisons between the current RTX Clevo laptops:

    P970
    398.6 x 268 x 19.9 mm
    Weight: 5.51 lbs (4 cell 62Wh)

    PB71
    399 x 275 x 29.9 mm
    Weight: 6.39 lbs (6 cell 62Wh)

    P775TM-R (I think)
    418 x 295.3 x 40.9 mm
    Weight: 8.6 lbs (8 cell 82Wh)

So about the same size width/length as the P970, just a little heavier, and thicker. Still much smaller than those portable desktop cpu laptops.
The P970 also doesn't have any models with the full RTX 2070, so I'm going to throw in the TongFang 17.3in model for comparison here too.

    393.7 x 260.35 x 25.4 mm
Weight: 5.25lbs (3 cell 46Wh, some places have a bigger 4 cell 62Wh option similar to the P970 battery which I assume weighs more)

So I guess for the slight extra weight and 50% more thickness we get G-Sync, Thunderbolt 3 (maybe), possible configuration choice for the i9-8950HK, a full RTX 2070 and better cooling (probably).

    Bonus:
Comparison to the MSI Titan, which seems to be the cheapest RTX G-Sync laptop out right now
    428 x 314 x 30.9~57.9 mm
    10.05 lbs (8 cell 90Wh)

And the more expensive Asus ROG
    424 x 320 x 47.5 ~ 50 mm
    10.35 lbs (8 cell 96Wh)

Both of which are somehow both more expensive and bulkier than the clevo laptop with desktop cpu.. G-Sync laptops seem to be very bulky, heavy, and expensive.. the PB71 starting to look like an amazing deal in comparison while also being much more portable.

More images from different sources never hurts. Wasn't sure if they were real because it looks way different from any of the past Clevo models that I've seen, including the PA71. Seems valid now.

I love the clean minimalist look, looks way better than those gaudy "gamer" look laptops that we've been seeing a lot of. I've seen a ton of those MSI Raider, Asus Strix, etc. laptops at my college in person and they look gross IMO. The stealth looks great at least but it's a bit costly compared to other similar options like the P970 and those TongFang models.

Check out the second link I posted. Schenker has alot of pictures up. We've had images of the 15" version of this for a while now, looks basically the same without the gaps on the sides of the keyboard. I've just been waiting to see how similar/different the 17" version turned out. I agree though, I really like this design, along with the P960s (but no full 2070 in them sadly). I've always found the MSI Raiders and such ugly, as well as pretty much all the Clevo designs prior these new models.

The dimensions show the chassis as only around 15" wide, which is exactly the same width as my 15" work laptop. The trackpad on this doesn't appear to be the same glass trackpad as on the PB51, though. That's pretty strange.

Yeah, looking at the dimensions, it's about the same as an average 15.3 inch laptop, maybe slightly thicker. Still a lot more portable than any similar spec laptop that I've seen.

Checks all the right boxes for me:
Does it look like it will fit most laptop bags? Yes.
Nice clean look that won't embarrass me every time I take it out? Yes.
Does it look cheap and dinky? Nope.
Cheaper than the other big brands? Yes.
Cheaper than similar spec G-Sync laptops? By a huge margin, not even close.
G-Sync, 144hz and decent color? Yes,
    Full RTX 2070? Yes.

It'll be a bit heavier than my cheap HP 15.3in ultrabook, but about the same width x height at the cost of some thickness. The big thing is that it will still be way faster than my dedicated gaming desktop that I built some years ago for 2 grand.. so I'll be replacing two computers at once.

Enough people are saying the eluktronics 2070 + 144hz screen has no tearing, that I might forego the gsync and thunderbolt and save 300-400 bucks and get that. Is there any reason to have thunderbolt besides an eGPU?

None that I can think of. And if we're getting a full 2070 anyway, I don't even see the need for that anytime in the next 5 or so year.

I mean ****, I was still playing newer games on medium settings with playable framerates on the 960m in my old laptop before it died. TB3 would be nice, but the 2070 is likely more than enough future-proofing for me.

I'm probably going to get the G-sync version just because the standard one doesn't have per-key rgb, afaik.

The EU sites have had them listed for a few weeks, but not actually available yet that I've seen. They are, however, available in Asia (or at least the 15" one is).

Yes the high cooling 15" variant is here :) bigger chassis means more cooling and a gtx 2070. Plus you have user switchable graphics between optimus and g-sync.

So they're using a mux switch then? I was actually wondering if these were strictly G-Sync or switchable like on the Zephyrus.

The PBxxEF-G models are finally listed on the actual clevo website now, with specs and pictures. Looks great.

I see the PB51EF-G being sold by some NA builders now, but no mention of the 17.3" model by anyone but hidevolution outside of Asian and European builders.

I'm also wondering how the cooling compares to the tongfang chassis with the full 2070 since the tongfang laptops seem to be a few hundred to a couple hundred dollars cheaper.

Bad news, clevo.com states that all PBxxEF models have only "17.3” FHD 144Hz Refresh Rate" Panels. I guess my QHD/4K dreams have not been answered. Well, will look elsewhere..

It's showing a UHD option for me...

Nvm that's only for the 15" one. The 17" does only show a FHD.

I would expect that to change in the future though. From my understanding there's only one 144hz FHD panel for example, so it may just be a lack of good 17" UHD options right now.

It's an excellent gaming panel and they have to only certify it and the 4k for G-sync.

As above the 4k is a factory option if you want.

It might be an excellent gaming panel but I need real estate and a good gpu for dev., I don't think any reseller in Europe will be selling this laptop with such a config in the near future, hopefully I'll be proven wrong..

I would expect a 3K or 4K panel in the future. Really doesn't make sense for them to have a UHD option for the 15" but not the 17", unless it was a lack of viable options. Considering how easy swapping out a screen is, I would really expect a higher res option to be available for the 17" in the future. Just my .02

It can come down to demand, they don't want to end up with a bunch of 17.3" panels.

I would assume there would more demand for a higher res panel for a 17" than for the 15"s. Not much point to 4k on a 15", 17 I can see. I was actually contemplating waiting for the 17", just so I could get it with a 3 or 4K panel. I guess this make that decision for me, now I'll just be going for a 1080 15".

Now my only problem is Sager vs Clevo BIOS (I've heard they're different) and unlock possibilities.

The BIOS is fairly standard on Sager systems so menu options should be the same.

Any idea when we’ll get any sort of benchmarks or information on thermals for this model?

I have the 15" on order, cant imagine they'll be too terribly different. I'll post an update in the PB51 lounge when I get it.
