The PB50EF can be yours for the low, low price of 9.999.000EUR.

It's a placeholder, they all cost that.

Clevo must be thinking large and in charge going with a 150W power brick to pair with a full rtx 2070.

    150w? 180w for 2060 and 230w with the 2070 IIRC.

Can you get confirmation? I thought I saw a member announcing the PB50 series having those adaptors but I haven’t seen those listed for sale yet.

How does the PB51 series differ from PB50? Why are resellers posting 150w for the above? Thanks.

The last number usually signifies cosmetic differences (brushed vs. sandblasted aluminium finish, for example)

I believe the 150W is a placeholder until they have more concrete info on the exact number, I'm guessing.

150 watts is far to low, and I think the gpu alone takes at least 100, and the cpu after a good undervolt will be around 45 watts, so I think 200watts is more in order. I dont know why, but I cannot find this model on clevo's site: https://www.clevo.com.tw/clevo_prodetail.asp?id=1149&lang=en

Are these images of it? https://clevo-computer.com/e-sport-...tel-8th-coffee-lake-nvidia-rtx-2070-vr-g-sync

They have some obvious errors on the page, like "french arabic" and double arabic before that. Im kind of annoyed they do the little things like say it includes two speakers, as if that was even an option to not have. The SSD prices they have are also a little inflated such as the 1tb 860evo at 220usd because ffs there are NVME options that are cheaper then that.

Oh man, thats awesome. XoticPC has it as well. Both sites offer it with 16gb RAM by default. Xotic default RAM is 3000mhz, and is overall the best price (I'm going no drives, no OS, as I have them already). I'm not sure if I want to get the 15" or 17" yet. Just depends on the price after config. Also of interest is the PB50EF, exactly the same specs as the PB51, but has an orange accent on the rear exhaust and along the side edge. Nobody seems to carry it except Hasee though, and they're in Asia.

Now i gotta check out all the other sellers. @Donald@HIDevolution do you have ETA on either of these or has the product page just not been updated yet?

What’s the appeal btw? I see thunderbolt 3 and G-Sync which is good. It reminds me of the starter msi titan models a little. Can we do better than a i7-8750H for cpu? It has a 230w power brick even the lighter GE63/75 has 280w without g-sync. Just wondered what the added bulk was about. Price seems one benefit.

For me it's the full 2070 without the ugly entry level MSI chassis. I think these actually look really good, hands down the nicest full 2070 (or even 2060 for that matter) in the sub $2000 range. I slightly prefer the P970, but they only come with the 2070 MQ.

There's also the SCAR II for similar price, but I returned that due to Optimus really dragging the RTX performance down. I was able to get over that, but oddly enough, the keyboard keys not being flush with the palmrest really bothered me the most, since I use my mouse on the palmrest when I have it on my lap, and the KB kept getting in the way. Just could not get past that no matter how much I tried.

There is no other 2070 + GSYNC for under 2k. Thunderbolt 3 is a nice option that I'll probably never use. I guess it boils down to whether gsync is worth ~150-200 bucks

I noticed Hidevolution is the only one to sell the PB51EF-G without a gsync configuration. Looking closely at the site, and the configuration for both, I came up with two conclusions. The difference in panel Response times for the panels have had me to conclude that the none G version is simply the same as the G, but without a gsync panel. Rjtech sells it with a gsync panel at only 1619usd, but that is barebones.

You can fit any panel to the machines still, they just loose g-sync if not certified.

If the 17" is a similar price, that's a great deal. It says prime so I'm wondering if the 5% amazon cashback works if you have their credit card? The only thing this configuration is missing is repaste.

I’m surprised no one is talking more about this laptop.
Sure it’s a little thicker than the thin and lite crowd but still pretty compact and you get a full RTX 2070, it’s the most affordable 2070 laptop out.
Isn’t the RTX 2070 better than the RTX 2080MQ in gaming?

It’s the most affordable full 2070 except for the eluktronics/tracer (tong fang). This one has gsync. The 15” just started shipping and the 17” isn’t even for sale yet.

I ordered one on Friday from LPC-Digital. No storage / Os since I have them already. Basically just a barebone plus the RAM.

The non-G version also doesn't have per-key RGB. Unless you have DDR4 RAM already, you're better off getting it from Xotic or LPC. Stripping them down to just the 16gb 3000mhz RAM came down to $1677 or so at both places.

Are you aware of any 1440p panels that we could swap into these?

The 17" is sold on the Sager site now. Seems like it's about $100 more than the 15" with same config.

I have seen mixed things about that. The difference also is that the max-q 2080 has a totally different die compared to the 2070 and 2060. Back in the pascal days, the 1070 and 1080 dies where the same for mobile.

There are 1440p panels, but they are TN and 120hz in 17.3 inches, and worse yet I hear bad reviews of them. I already have ddr4 hyperx impacts, so that would be a deal then going for RJtech, unless you can tell me another reason not to go for them? If LPC is the best deal with ram, seems like something I may go for in the future, but care to show us a review of the clevo? Maybe some teardown pictures?

But you are stuck with 1 dimm of 16GB 3000Mhz though. RJTech is probably $1570 with the cash discount. Save a $100 towards buying your own dual channel.

I'll definitely do that when it arrives, but I just ordered it on Friday so it'll probably be awhile. Hopefully it gets here sooner than later.

LPC and Xotic were exactly the same price on these with each config I considered. Prostar was only about $10 more. All 3, stripped down to just RAM, were cheaper then the RJtech barebone plus the $100 or so for 16GB DDR4. But if you got DDR4 sticks already the RJtech is probably the best deal for you if your going for a barebone as well.

In the end I ended up choosing LPC because Larry was real helpful, dude even added an option in the customizer so I could remove the last drive. Not to mention being a Prema partner, so in the unlikely event a BIOS for these becomes available I'll be able to get it, which is just an added bonus.

Didn't realise they did a cash discount. Even with that, the final price after $100 for RAM comes out the same. I'd rather have the 1 dimm so I can upgrade to 32 later

If that is your plan that is perfectly fine. Just know there is a noticeable performance hit if you plan to game on any single channel memory configuration.

    Edit:that=any

Yeah me too, I guess they trade blows depending on the game but for the most part they are almost equal. I compared both GPU’s on notebook check and in some games the RTX 2070 does better in others the RTX 2080MQ . I could have been what drivers they were using so who knows 100% for sure.
Would love to see a head to head direct comparison.
Does anyone know how the switchable graphics work? Is it through the BIOS or a actual switch to toggle on or off?
