I’m not too sure who to contact. I bought a P870DM-G second hand, then purchased all of the necessary parts to upgrade it to a P870TM. Any resellers that would be willing to provide me the appropriate bios update?

I purchased it from RJTech. I can always reach out to them and see if they can provide a bios update.

interesting project! did u have to do a lot of case modding to implement the TM mobo into the DM chassis?

I actually bought an entire TM chassis for a really great price, so no modding was needed. There isn’t much in the DM that was useable, it had to pretty much all be replaced. It’s more of a “replace everything” than an upgrade lol.

If anyone is interested, you can find the entire P870tm casing on taobao for super cheap, seemed to be of good quality when i received it.

Thank you for the help, I was able to get the updated bios from RJTech and have the 9900k in there now.

Nope, it is just the external casing, and it also came with some extras like the touchpad and buttons, an eDP cable and various other things, but the MB and other electronics/heatsinks and fans you need to purchase separately.

Hallo, got answer from Donald: RTX gpus not supporting SLI modus. So theres no sli gpu available. HDCP 2.2 not supporting. Mini Display port is only 1.3. And MXM modules are dying.

I only know of one game that supports it (Ashes of the Singularity) but would the Multi GPU function of DX12 work with it if there were two 2080's installed? Maybe HyperSLI?

Non vendor specific multi gpu would work but with the obvious limitations of game being coded for it and PCI-E bandwidth.

It seems to be not possible to purchase the P870TM-R with HDCP 2.2 and titan ridge. I need hdcp 2.2 for 4k streaming damn it.

Of course is without sli. And next gen will be also without sli. Unfortunately this is past. But I have tested yesterday i9-9900k with rtx 2080 made 34000 GPU scores and system with p870dm3-g with i7-9700k and 2x gtx 1080 going up. To 53000 GPU scores. [IMG] [IMG]

i see the sli is faster? Im confused 20542 vs 27722?

Then old gpu sli is better than new?

So theres might not be a reason to buy the rtx when sli is faster nor?

For me personally is just another test project like gtx 980 desktop from past..
Nothing special.. Comparison price/performance not good. Cost much more in all possible ways as barebone and as mxm moduls.

But mxm modules are perfect to change a dead gpu i would needed that in my past notebooks same for changable desktop gpus.
For me that fixed in soldered crap should generally be forbidden theres no possible way to change dead electronic stuff for longer lifetime of products.

If a wear product in a device is not replaceable than the overall device itself is a construction failure....

as seen the P870TM1 with dual 1080 in sli will give better performance compared to the new single rtx 2080 P870TM-R. So better look for the sli 1080

It's not an upgrade path for 1080 SLI, though in games that disagree with SLI the 2080 will come out ahead.

Maybe sli works without sli bridge? Like one generation from past. But the question is if they use original CLEVO gpus? I don't thinks so. Maybe some another vendor because this fit is like Msi vendor with modified vbios. Probably 99.99 % :)

It's amazing if they really push this as far as making a new GPU unit

He means there's a possibly to run SLI without using a usual bridge

They might be advertising it as SLI but it's just two 2080s in mGPU, which wouldn't help in anything.

Why wouldnd it help? It's still sli if its supported game. I think it's just the P870 with 2 gpu's mxm2080 so not bad at all.

It's not SLI. It's mGPU, a DX12 feature and as far as I know, no game as of yet supports mGPU.

SLI is supported in many games.

Let's wait and see what this "2080 SLI" really is.
