F***ing hell! Clevos are going to dominate the enthusiast market aren't they? If this system doesn't throttle and the required tdps are properly managed, I don't care if I have to carry TWO 330W bricks everyday, I am buying one on release day. @Phoenix let me know when u ordering this to Dubai mate, we'll order TWO of this and over clock the hell out of it.

Will it have a Z270 chipset? It would allow people to continue using Skylake until the newer cpus come out.

Oh and take a look at the manual. I think people will be pleased with which video cards and how many. ;)

What's concerning is the extra height. 47.2mm vs 45mm. I'm assuming this may have been done for the cooling system meaning us original P870DM owners may be SOL if it doesn't fit.

Ahh so the first flagship will have 1070SLI .

Im guessing the single card solutions should work with out P870DM. But only time will tell.

Might as well say it the manual is up lol. So it will have 1070 SLI, 1080 single and 1080 SLI.

Also, it just hit me. The extra thickness is probably the bottom panel! I know the P650 has two bottom covers, one for 970m and one for 980m. I'm assuming it will be similar for the P870DM2/3!

I just cant help but ask, why not create one 700W power brick instead of just relying on the old 330W brick that two are needed to be dragged everywhere and must connect to two power outlets?

330W is more than enough for single card configs even with moderate overclocks.

But the manual does say you have to use the dual power adaptor for this laptop and not to attempt to use a single PSU

Not only that, there are regulations. I believe there were some issues with making a power brick larger than 330w due to airplanes or some shipping issue?

Don't remember. But a 480W adapter the size of the 330w adapter would be perfect. 100% performance at stock with two powerful 1080s and a 6700K. Overclocked is obviously a different story.

That is for the 1080 SLI configuration.

I lied. Looks like dual 330w for 1080 SLI. Dual 230w for 1070 SLI and single 330w for single 1080.

    Indeed! :D

The server may have been getting hit with too much traffic. Or, they may have recognized it was getting hits and blocked it.

Not much different than we are already used to. An extra TB 3 port and GPU refresh from what I can tell. Still 6700K for now.

Ok give us a hint here.. Now the GTX1080 and GTX1070 which can SLI, do they need a power connector? My guess is no.. The full GTX1080 will require one I know that much...

Is there any vendor that supplies a brick with 500W+ capability? I really hate the idea of needing 2 power outlets and two separate power bricks and a converter, not due to weight, just to multiple components and complexity to a simple task.

Not yet... But, you're not the only one that feels that way and I know of a vendor that is working on such a thing. More like 700W... that's all I can say at this time. One very high power output AC adapter is a much better idea than two smaller units and the extra stuff to go along with it.

I suspect with new heat sinks. Don't know if a system BIOS mod will be needed or not, but possibly a good chance only heat sinks. Just a guess on my part, though.

Ah, yeah... forgot about that part. That's not very much difference at all, only 2.5mm, but the original bottom cover doesn't have much in terms of extra space to play around with. It might fit, but I guess someone would have to test it to find out. It might be they increased the size of the GPU radiators and fans, which would be a very good thing.

Yeap, less TDP but thicker heat sinks. But then again, higher clocks might take the long sessions thermals almost where they are right now.

I'm not thrilled about the less TDP part and I think that part sucks, (more is always better in my book,) but better temps is always a welcomed improvement. I want to see more with more, not more with less. I hate doing more with less.

A 700W passive supply with titanium levels of efficiency. That's going to add around $300-400 to the price of the machine.

From what I've gathered we will need new heatsinks and a new bottom cover. BIOS update most likely as well.

Speculation on my part of course. ;)

    Mmmmmmm................Pascal. ;)

But it really does look just like a logical refresh. The second TB port is interesting, though.

If a BIOS update is needed, how does this play with PremaBIOS? Will Prema update the 870DM Bios? Having Prema exclusivity with some vendors on the new model like the current model?

Cross flashing even on the same chipset is usually a bad idea.
