That screen on the 775... why can't the 750 have 120 Hz too... I'd drop the 4K for the 120 Hz anytime.

Maybe only the 17" panel has 120hz.

There is a countdown timer for something big at http://pc-konsulten.se/ now it says 12days and 22 hours. You can also find the new P750DM2, but it is buried in a hidden URL but it offers max nvidia 1070, so no 1080 for 15"...

Asus debuted a prototype 4k IPS 144hz monitor. Never mentioned when it would be available, but I imagine the price would be awfully high. Dell also has a 5000 dollar OLED 4k 120Hz monitor as well.

Yeah,i have their current FHD IPS 144hz and this thing is glorious. But the price is another story..
Considering that, not sure how soon they will slap on high refresh rate IPS panels in laptops.

Even on my 3-year-old AW 17 R1 the 120Hz screen is glorious. My current 750ZM can't handle 4k maxed out on a 980M :(. Can Pascal make a difference this time? It's all about gaming and eye candy for me. I couldn't care less about OC.

Yeah, 900 series wasn't able to run 4K well on any single mobile card, you would usually need a desktop card like a Titan X or 2x graphics cards to do 4K reasonably well. Pascal is better for 4K on the existing desktop cards. Looks like the Titan X (pascal), as expensive as it is, will be a 4K monster. We will have to wait and see on mobile graphics, but it should be better than a 980m I'd expect.

I was actually thinking about a full-fledged 1080 (not mobile version), similar to 980M vs 980.

So P775DM2 are the ones with GTX 1070 (230W PSU) and DM3 with GTX 1080 (330W PSU). Interestingly, the difference between FHD and 4K panel options results in 400g of extra weight: 3.9Kg and 4.3Kg respectively. Why so much?)

the lack of a 770 seem like they're going with just one 17" model. I guess thats one less chassis to design and manufacture. I just hope that if it fits in a 750 then it should fit in a 770 since the internals are practically the same.

One thing that I noticed is a higher price difference for some dealers for these ones versus P870 new versions [?]

I'm not sure if this is too early to get a clear idea, but leaks and price leaks so far indicate that this might be a cheaper option to P870, with a similar performance.

If your looking only at single GPU performance then they might have similar performances assuming no TDP differences between the cards used. But then again practically everyone who's looking at the 870 wants the SLI or are assuming that it comes with a higher TDP version for single card.

I look at the P870 based on its presumably better cooling system, but plan to run a single 1080 in it for the time being (and maybe add a second one if I manage to set beside enough cash and SLI gets more attention from game devs & nvidia).

However I'm not sold yet, if the P7 alternative is a chunk cheaper I'd probably opt for it instead. My only priority is a 120hz 1080p screen.

But the diferece in price used to be much smaller. Now it seems that this version will be considerably cheaper, but feature 1080 GPU.

Today we should have more news!

    I can't wait!

I have no idea why I'm excited, since P870 might be better anyways, but I sure want to know more about this model too.

Anyone around knows why the two models exist? I mean, is there any advantage for P77X series, or they were meant to be smaller and P870 was meant to be the big monster of laptopys ?

Same, I can't wait! Judging from the leaks, both models should be able to house a 1080, while Prema hinted the P870 could enable the card to yield better performance. Before jumping the gun and getting the P77X model (which I would probably prefer, even though I'm coming from an x7200), I will look at how the 1070/1080 perform in both notebooks.

For anyone waiting on a new panel for the 15" models, a 1080p/120hz/G-Sync panel DOES exist in the new Aorus X5v6. Hopefully Clevo can get their hands on it as well because I'd LOVE to stick one in my P750.

So is it not possible to get a 120hz screen with G-Sync? because on the websites, I can see G-Sync with only the 4K option.
    Can somebody confirm this?

@Stooj do you buy from HID or from Metabox mate? Maxing out on HID website gave me AU$4900 Fedex shipping/tax included. Metabox about the same?

I bought from Metabox only because I'm not really down with the risk of shipping something THAT expensive in. It would also be an extreme pain in the ass to deal with faults.
You also have to make sure you account for import duty (10%).

Metabox haven't yet added the new models to their store but I expect it'll happen soon as the new model names have already gone out to resellers (e.g. AffordableLaptops)

I also noticed the only reseller that state that the screen is 120hz - 5ms refresh is HID. I wonder if it was just a copy/paste error from the P870's or if they truly have 120hz screens. The images from Computex show that they have 120hz screens...

120Hz is already confirmed. What he's asking is whether there is a 120hz AND G-Sync screen. What I'm seeing across all the resellers right now is ambiguous at best. Will wait and see until @HTWingNut does his reviews :p

I have looked a couple of re sellers, and they offer 120HZ screen for P870DM and not for P775DM. Did you find one which offers 120Hz with P775DM?

    Sorry, edited my earlier post.
HID is the only reseller that I've seen that advertises the 120hz screen. No mention of G-sync though.

Edit: I just noticed that they have the laptop listed as the P775DM3-G. That means it should be the G-sync equipped model. Just need to confirm that's the case.
