Leaked Time Line of Release Dates for Skylake Processors
I've provided some appetizers below for you to enjoy while we wait for the Batman 2.0
There is a lot of cool technologies coming online to look forward too, and that are important for manufactures like Clevo to consider. Such as..
Next Gen PCIe SSD's NVMe - A great article! Phison supplies SSD manufactures like crucial, kingston etc.. with their Phison controller. Crucial, & Kingston are position well and may one up Samsung because it's partners are on track to produce a 1TB PCIe SSD and also include encryption on the fly which Samsung hasn't mentioned anything about, and may not even support that feature as Samsung's current SM951 SSD does not support encryption on the fly. Samsung's SM951 also runs hot because their controller is using an architecture of 30-40nm the memory on the other hand is much smaller.
Another exciting feature is Thunderbolt 3.0 - a great article
More in depth Thunderbolt 3.0 article here by- anantech
Watch Intel's recent Computex Keynote Presentation here
* I hope the P750-DM aka Batman 2.0 get's Intel's Real Sense implemented which would be a cool feature. (not yet confirmed)
I'll continue to update this. I hope this helps you in making a purchase decision.

Looking good! All I want is future MXM 3.0b support. This is a good sign...
I'm sure Clevo has some inside information regarding Pascal, otherwise they'd be making a huge mistake releasing a system with MXM support if Pascal is not MXM. So, I think it's safe to assume Pascal is MXM at this point (assuming what you've provided is accurate).jaybee83, Ionising_Radiation, MichaelKnight4Christ and 1 other person like this. -

I think this is the one pals ! I really like that thunderbolt/usb 3.1 port and the fact that skylake and all the skylake refreshes will be supported on this. The only thing that I'm worried about now is the price tag however if its comparible to the normal zm then I have a new laptop to take home to the family.
ps:
Im still curious what other clevo books are on the way if any only to see the performance of the mobile skylake but I have not heard much on that. Any ideas whats going on there ? -
True or not, thanks for at least spilling the beans on what you know. Seemed like you were content to prod people a bit with a bag of hot air, and lead us on (aka troll the forum).
I'm thinking along the same lines as J.Dre that if true, it somewhat increases the odds that Pascal will be MXM. Now to hear what the horse actually has to say.ProFX likes this. -

Thanks for taking the time to post this. Hopefully one day it can be moved back to the owners lounge.

I doubt it will be hardware raid with a chip and ram on the motherboard for it.
-
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
Yep which would be the usual firmware raid, like software only bootable.

Hopefully we get some reasonable high speed DDR4 modules because at the moment the fast DDR3 heavily beats it.

2400MHz minimum. Hopefully up to 3000MHz will be available, or at least supported. -
I wonder how many pages this thread will have before the first end-user is an actual 'owner'...well maybe in a little over 3 months the first people in Asia should be getting theirs...
EDIT: Why asking people in a 15" model thread what screen size they want? 15" model has always been the better selling version...HM/EM/SM/SM-A/ZM...Last edited: May 19, 2015jaybee83, Starlight5, TomJGX and 3 others like this. -
I'd take 144hz 1440p over 4k any day for gaming. I hope 4k doesn't become the only option for the next round of these laptops. Clevo, please DO NOT jump straight to 4k only. 1080p is just too low for Pascal, unless they do 120Hz-144Hz. Pascal may be perfect for that... Imagine a smooth 120 FPS at 1080p? Drooling just thinking about it... But 1440p/1600p makes sense, as that's the next step up from 1080p.
@Prema,
Most definitely. We're just now coming to a stop on the hype train. It'll probably be a good 3-5 months before anyone actually has one in hand on these forums.TomJGX, Mr Najsman, triturbo and 1 other person like this. -
Interestingly the panel/laptop size popularity is different depending on the country. I won't go into details but in Europe some countries show that 15" models are noticably more popular and in others the 17" sell better.
I wonder, is this the first Owner's Lounge thread that has been created before a model has even been announced let alone launched into the market?Prema likes this. -
Yes I know 15" is the most popular over other laptop display panels but I thought it'd still be interesting to ask since it's a 4k display. -
It surprises me to hear that 15" is more popular. I can't stand 15" screens. I'd take a 20" if it was available...
-
@Ethrem 15" is better portability for people in school/college/university.
They simply enjoy a logistical advantage and get direct shipments as they don't have to go through one of the large quantity importer.
On topic (-ish):
What I am personally looking forward to the most is 17" 4K (still hoping they bump the SLI model to eDP 1.4a...120Hz 4K hello ) and the Thunderbolt 3 port. Imagine what eGPU joy that'll bring...
EDIT: And no this is not to start a 4K gaming discussion, I actually do work on my systems...have 2K (WQHD) on 13" atm and it's perfect...
EDIT 2: What I am looking forward to most as a gamer are actually the Oculus Rift & HTC Vive, hope NVIDIA gets their driver ready for SLI support. It is unbelievable how long it took to be build VR into a consumer product, I remember testing a VR build by Silicon Graphics in IRC 1993...LOL.Last edited: May 20, 2015TomJGX, Blacky, ajc9988 and 1 other person like this. -
4K 17" does seem to be a repeatedly requested feature and it makes more sense in 17" than 15". -
-
-
I'm considering going 17" this time around. As long as Windows 10 scaling is improved, I'll take 4k. I'll likely still play games at 1080p, unless an SLI rig can manage 4k gaming without much issue.
But personally I would prefer a 16:10 3K LCD. I think that would be perfect.triturbo likes this. -
Very much enjoy the 13.3" for its portability; it's a proper laptop and for desk work on location there's an external 30" 2560p. Yet for movies the 20" would've been perfect as is. This is, however, a luxury of sorts; if you can only afford one laptop then an inbetween 15.6" makes sense.triturbo likes this. -

Exactly, for people that do lots of work on their laptops (coding, image editing, lots of multi-tasking), high resolutions and good eyes are a must. I went for the M17x R2 only for it's 1920x1200 resolution, for me it's still the best 17 inch notebook up to date simply because of its resolution.
-
It won't matter soon as we'll all be using 6 x 50" screens in virtual desktops
To be fair we need at least 4K VR for that to work well but that's not far off. -
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
I'd love to see a high refresh rate 1440p display
-
I was hoping Batman 2.0 would have displayport 1.3 to support high refresh rates like 120Hz for VR. I more excited about using VR for a desktop monitor replacement than for gaming, but I don't think VR will be ready for a desktop display replacement until they have 4k VR. I just can't wait until there's a unit that I can use every day for normal work etc.. It's nice having a lil privacy while you do work, or while working or watching a movie on a plane etc..
correct me if I'm wrong here on the VR I haven't kept up with it for a while, but I don't think any of the ones coming out this year would be good enough to use on a day to day basis to replace a desktop display. -
I think you'll be surprised. I had the low res DK1 and even that was nearly workable.
Due to the slight movements of your head a lower resolution can actually look a lot higher than it is especially when looking at a stationary object. -

So what HW raid is it using? Is it a co-processor ?
-
I think we have the bulk of the details now, though I'm very curios to see how well Skylake can be over clocked.Last edited: May 21, 2015 -
6600K & 6700K are very much unlocked!
-
Support.3@XOTIC PC Company Representative
K models have typically denoted an unlocked version, the 6700 without K would be locked.

YES, "K" version Haswell and Skylake and "C" version Broadwell are marking the unlocked versions.

I can't even find drivers for it here: http://63.110.85.2/index.cfm?mainpage=download&modelno=P750ZM/P770ZM#file -
Really dumb question here, why is this laptop called Batman? Is that an official series name given by clevo/sager or is it nickname given here on the forums?

4k screens on the 17 inch models makes more sense and I think they should have added that from the start along side the 15in models but i guess they had their reasons. As far as the skylake goes I think thats very well suited for builds like these. Like profx I was a bit torn on if I should wait but something is telling me to do so in my mind since future proofing has been a major priority for me. I think this model has the potential to go the distance !

Right, production unit 4K 17" screens where simply not made by any LCD manufacturer, reason being the much higher sale numbers of 15" screens, which are far more popular across all Notebook OEMs.

Ah, I guess this was covered in the 600+page owner forum of the current model. TY for the response all.

The P975DM or "DM" as we might call it or Batman 2.0 will not have SLI in the 15" or 17" version. However Clevo's product lines that support SLI will be getting Skylake too!
P.S If you could give the P975DM a new nick name What would it be? I think Batman is cool, but I think it would be fun to brainstorm names that would fit it well, and if anything just for the fun of it.Last edited: May 21, 2015 -
If you're talking of the P7xxDM then no other name is more fitting than Batman 2.0, since it's the same chassis. One could say that it's the same batmobile but sports another engine.
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
It would be nice to see a replacement to the P570WM, if just for the awesomeness you could fit inside with modern connections. The weight class is just so much higher though so I would expect it to be kept to a different line.
-
Holy wow, I didn't expect to see this information when I came here today!
So this is the news about the Batman refresh huh. I quite like it (but I am a simple man). I was hoping for a chassis upgrade, maybe to something more metal-esq rather than plastic but given that this looks like it is coming out Skylake compatible and in early Q4 2015 I think I can personally overlook it
Thanks for sharing! -
Though to qualify all keys would have to be pure black and the leds as well ... Hmm, and the display would have to run 100% K gamut, obviously.TomJGX likes this.
