Has anyone here already tried installing Windows 10 January TP in their P65X? This weekend I upgraded only to find that the GPUs couldn't be started (code error C43). Drivers were installed and OK, but neither device would start. I also wasn't able to play any game due to that.

It was like they were conflicting with each other or something, I didn't have time to debug the situation so I just reverted to 8.1 (which took like 5 mins). Which is a pity, since pretty much everything else seemed to function properly (even fingerprint reader).

    Does someone have any idea?

    Thanks

Did you read up on how nvidia optimus holds in Windows 10? I am not sure of testing it until full release.

It's possible that the 1525 AC drivers arent updated for Windows 10, as is the case for most driver issues.

Prema's mod changes the BIOS, vBIOS and EC correct? Also, once I use Prema's stuff, will I no longer be able to update the BIOS/EC/vBIOS?

You can always update the BIOs, vBIOs, and EC. Why would you not be able to?

Yikes! That's no Dell.. a real Dell says Dell on the bottom, like mine. I dodged that bullet by really searching, there's too many 'compatibles' out there that are not the real deal but sold as authentic Dell.

I second that, speed first timings second.

I thought when you do Prema's mod it changes the BIOS. Such was the case with Prema's mod on my old gigabyte laptop. (If I would of updated my BIOS my clocks would go back to being locked)
Also, what drivers should I be installing? I looked on Clevo's website and there are some that don't look necessary. For instance, why do I need Intel RapidStart on Intel Rapid Storage? Should I just install all drivers anyway? Are the ones on Clevo's website latest?

I'd appreciate if someone can define BIOS, vBIOS and EC. I know that:
BIOS- Basic functions of computer such as CPU OC'ing, enable/disable various features, boot priorities
vBIOS- BIOS for GPU? Determines OC limits?
EC- Absolutely no idea on function... Controls fans? But that should be BIOS...

hmm.. never have seen "DELL" on top of the sticker on a PA-9E. I thought Dell sourced from Delta and Flextronics for these PSU's. Might you mean Delta? Either way it is from Dell if you have either.

Dell use Delta & Flextronics 240W PSU's. Nothing wrong with both of them.

Qualcomm has stopped producing special drivers for the Killer cards....from now on they will be working with the standard atheros drivers the same like all the other atheros cards. The last killer wireless suite is actually the last....ever.

Ofcourse if you will update to another version of bios you will lose OC...

When you're updating the bios you're not actually "updating" it...you're basically erasing the old one and installing a new one.

If you want unlocked clocks you'll just have to stick to versions released by PREMA

You can always update to a newer stock version anytime...but then you'll lose any mods available in Prema's bios

P.S. Prema's bios is based on xxxx.04 and stock xxxxx.05 is already out.

In alta ordine de idei...salutari de la un roman :D

    Multumesc tare mult!

So from Prema I get 3 things, the unlocked BIOS, vBIOS and EC.
After I have installed those 3, I have to stay with all 3 of them to maintain my unlocked clocks, correct?

Well, my PSU surely IS a Dell, check my pic.

See, there are 3 versions: the j938h, j211h and the FWCRC.
The latter is Dell, the other two are Delta and Flextronics. Dell 'approved' perhaps, but not quite Dell.
A bit like saying a cat is family of the tiger. It's not really a tiger.
Or that a Panzer II is a tank, just like a Tiger. Still not a Tiger.

There's pics floating around of the innerds of those PSU's that show the difference in quality.
Mind you, I'm not saying which is better, just that there IS a difference and that it might be a factor in regards to reliabilty.

Hmmm....I never saw DELL branded PSU, its always Delta or Flextronic. Not sure tho...label and fonts looks like it's fake Chinese copy.

OK.. if you look on the lower left corner of your sticker you will see "Delta Electronics" right above Made in China. You have a Delta sourced PSU. Again, no big deal as all are supplied to Dell and made to specs they desired for the PSU.

Riiiight, the font is exactly Dell and it seems that just because you never saw it it must be a fake...
Head in sand / praise the make believe man in the sky kinda situation.

And please do forgive me for the shoddy lighting, cropping and the high jpeg compression, I'm abroad and just wanted to show you guys it exists.
(just didn't think it'd be branded fake immediately by non believers).

Well, whaddya know :) Delta as well, glad I didn't badmouth it ;) ... anyway, still 3 versions out there but beats the **** outta what the difference is then.
    (it's all Chinese anyway)

Dude I used to have 2x dell original adapers. One for p150 and one for M17x. So stop pointing finger to me. There are plenty of fake adapters. Non of the adapters I have looks like yours. So I said what I know from my experience...don't act like a kid

'Dude' take a chillpill. Having had just 2 adapters doesn't make you Mr.Dell. That 'experience' isn't nearly sufficient to make the statement you did.
Saying something is fake from the get go just because you never had it or saw it is 'less than smart'.

Now let's switch back to adult mode again and back on-topic.

Anyone who knows whats up with the Soundblaster X-Fi Mb3 software? I've tried reinstalling the audio drivers (which works fine) and reinstalling the software, but I still get the message "There is no supported audio device available"? Even with the headphones connected.

I received my P650SG w/Sharp 4k screen last thursday. So far so good in normal, everyday use. Some application ignore or don't support scaling which can be frustrating because the windows are TINY but overall I'm still happy that I chose the 4K screen.

I'd like to test, benchmark, and mildly OC this baby, but I guess I'm more of a noob that I'd like to admit when it comes to this. Are there any guides out there of what apps/utilities to run, the settings to use, and what to to look at?

Alternatively, are there any of you seasoned laptop veterans that wouldn't mind guiding me through the process over PMs?

    Thanks in advance!

If you want to do safe OC on stock BIOS and vBIOS, just download Nvidia Inspector and push the core clock to 135 (limit) and memory to 360 (stable) and set power options to Balanced.

For me the solution was to not install the drivers from the menu of the driver install disc but to go into the folder of the drivers and running setup.exe from there.

    Hi!

I am looking for a seller where to buy the P650 for cheap in Europe, which offers a European-wide warranty, best if accidental damage. I have gone through the list of European sellers already but I have found that most are country-specific warranty only or on the expensive side of the spectrum.

    Any ideas/advices?

    Thanks!!! :)

I did, but haven't seen people with this issue. I couldn't even open GF Experience or NVidia CP because it didn't detect the card (drivers were not loaded).

Most issues I see are DX9 games not loading (supposedly fixed) and NVidia GPU never turning off. My problem was kinda the opposite, hence my confusion.

Just wanted to scan if there were more people around facing these issues, or if anyone else tried W10 on their P65XX. If not, I might try to debug the issue if I have time, else I'll stick with 8.1 that's been flawless for me.

As this is the thread for P650XX it seemed appropriate to ask around, is all :)

Do you think it would possible to remove the hard coating from the Sharp display and install one of these for example?
    http://www.protectionfilms24.com/pr...ion.html?geraeteklasse=29&marke=&modell=22174

I have my doubts it's possible and I'm pretty sure it's not sensible, but when something irks you (although I'm pretty sure I'm the only one who cares, so as not to deter anyone from getting this otherwise brilliant screen) it can drive you to do the insane.

I dont think the hardcoating is actually "on" the surface, but is on the inside...

You can email your vendor about the issue and see if they can resolve it for you by taking one apart or so. From a distance the coating isnt that noticeable anyway.

I see, thanks. Yeah, that's what I'd expect, this being a laptop screen... It's not really an issue since it's by design so I doubt the vendor would bother, so I'll just have to get used to it then. I just have a bad habit of watching anime and it has lots, lots of bright flat colors everywhere...

There's supposedly a Matte version being available for the P750ZM. If I recall, it will be out in a few months and you can opt for that one to see if its any better (via upgrading of course, the 750 and 650 share the same screens). You can ask your reseller if they see the same issues and if they can swap yours with one of less interference.

Salut frate! Vad ca sunt mai multi... noi romanii cu placerea noastra deosebita pentru technologie :D

A few things, your P650SE will not be able to stack an SSD with an HDD, only the P650SG and 17'' variants can do that because they are 3mm thicker. This is one of the reasons I just got another SSD and just did RAID 0, 256gb was not enough for me after installing a few games, OS, applications, I was left with 70gb to spare.

My P650SE came with the Intel 7265 and I purchased a Killer 1525. Qualcomm effectively killed the product line and the ability to fine tune your adapter settings are 4 compared to Intel's like 20 advanced options. Performance is exactly the same if anything the Killer card is certainly more stable than Intel, however there really is no difference. The performance suite is kind of useless in Windows 7.

I also believe the BIOS that came with my laptop is the absolute latest being xx.06 and EC xxx.04
