It's up to the reseller but if your options fall within sager's customisations then yes it would be sent straight to you, they do run tests on each machine before shipping of course. Any warranty would go through your reseller.

Hey all. I'm considering returning my Gigabyte, been having some issues lately with it that I can't seem to resolve
I may not even be able to return as I have tinkered around with the insides and repasted. So I may have to swallow the costs and simply use the savings I was setting aside for a Skylake/1080M upgrade next year to fund a new laptop instead. I'm thinking I might switch to the P650SG. But I will have to wait until 12/12 for the Killer 1525 card (because the Intel AC 7260 is what I believe to be the cause of many of my issues with the Gigabyte).
Is this a good laptop in your opinion? Would like to hear your thoughts.
Also, if I were to swap over, would the 4K screen be a good option? How does it compare with the 3K screen? Now that I have tasted what HDPI screens look like, 1080p just won't do it for me anymore.
Also, how is the CPU cooling on this laptop?ericc191 likes this. -
Could you tell me what issues do you have ?
CPU throttling I presume,...? that's common with msi GSx0 and gigabyte barebones...
You can repaste without Coollaboratory liquid metal ultra (hard to put but you'll get a great temp decrease)
And undervolt with XTU.
If only the 7260 is your issue that would be really stupid to return the laptop , just wiat early december for the qualcomm Killer 1525 ac and you'll have a great wifi card. Some 7260 have hardware issues, gigabyte seem to have used old hardware revisions... you can always buy a 7265 wwhen it'll be available on ebay, it's a 7260 but fixed .
For now if you're really overwhelmed by your wifi card consider a small temporary, wifi dongle like the asus n10tfast500 likes this. -
1) Nexus 5 not disconnecting and reconnecting when laptop plugged into AC adapter but not on battery power (phone works fine with other laptops plugged into AC adapter).
2) Problems with Intel Wireless 7260 card and bluetooth - laggy bluetooth mouse and severe interference with wifi download speeds whilst connected to a bluetooth speaker.

Change your nexus cable that happened to me on my gt60
2) latest bluetooth driver/software installed ? U APSD disabled ? -

This is what codeproject.com has to say about the new 7625 card.
2nd gen Intel® Wireless-AC7265 cards
The Intel Core M processor family also introduces faster WLAN (performance improves 15-100%) while having a 70% smaller footprint by using the M.2 1216 form factor.
Compared to the dual-band Intel® Wireless-A7260, the AC7265 has improved link reliability, broader coverage, support for more devices and can stream video at 1080p while being 50% greener at idle (4mW) and 30% greener when active (8mW during web browsing).
Note: Intel plans to introduce wireless docking with WiGig into the Intel Core M family in 2015. -
Don't keep anything that gave you a bad experience.
-
I vaguely remember having similar connectivity issues with my Clevo and Nexus 5 now that I think about it. I remember it being an issue before, which forced me to use only WiFi transfers. Maybe that is not the laptop's fault after all. Though my old Samsung works fine with my Nexus 5...
The WiFi and Bluetooth stuff is definitely a problem though. -

Cakefish if you're looking for extreme or what not and don't mind an additional week vs the 980 SG release and want the best of both of these laptops check out the p751ZM thread going on we're pretty excited I"m preording mine next week, soon as I verify one more thing,
However if not so far according to HT this thing is amazing.jaybee83 likes this. -
Mine has arrived at custom, and it should be at my doorstep next week. All basic spec though, but I can't help but post this.

PS: 15th of december is the current ETA (at bluemobility and also Schenker/mySn here in Germany) -

Would you be able to buy a 3k/4k matte screen after having already purchased the 1080p matte version of the p650 and then install it on your own? Or an you only do this with a same resolution screen? Are the pin connectors different or anything? I want 4k/3k MATTE not glossy : /
-
The Clevo P6 71SE/SG can be also be ordered from the german Schenker website.
You're limited to a 1080p matte screen it seems...Are there any reviews on this or do we have to wait till December? -
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
Yes only 1080p since there are no high res 17.3" panels out.
-
Mine will be awhile as I just got NOT ONE, but two flat tires thanks to an 18 wheeler cutting me off. BAH, there goes $275 of my P650SG money.
Also, Cakefish, if majority of your issues are the Wifi/BT card, try replacing it in a few weeks when better options become purchasable. I know someone else already said that.
I have followed your thread closely and it seems to be a pretty killer notebook besides that issue. Luckily you're not having main board issues or CPU/GPU issues, you know?
Good luck man! Let us know what you end up doing. -

Everything is going according to my plan, well, my new had-to-be-adapted plan.
Since I can't wait the SG version on multicom.no due to their late ETA I will proceed with the SE.

I've tried. I've tried everything under the sun. But it appears that my P35X v3 does indeed contain a faulty 7260. I may well return it. A part of me really wants to try out the P650 to see what it is like. I have been scared by how fragile the P35X v3 is; I dropped a USB cable from 3-4 inches and it chipped the anodised aluminium surface. I want to see if the P650 is more durable in that regard (my P170SM is a tank).
However, the P650 also comes with the 7260, with no alternatives available from PCspecialist until after Christmas (which is far too late for me). Sure, there are options from Scan and MYSN with the 3160/7265/1202 but these either lack the fingerprint scanner or only offer the 4K glossy screen while the 3K matte is what I desire.
Do I dare risk another misadventure with the 7260? How have yours been holding up? Also, what is the durability like of this model in terms of the aluminium surface? Is it likely to be chipped by a USB cable falling from a couple of inches height? -
OK folks, so I have requested a return/refund of my P35X v3 (for the specific reasons please see the P35X v3 thread in the Gigabyte section of the forums, but just want to say it isn't a bad model - don't want to give Gigabyte an undeserved reputation).
I now intend to become part of the Clevo brethren once again. I am lucky enough to have enough savings in the bank to preorder a replacement laptop before the return/refund of the Gigabyte is processed. I am thinking of this build:
P650SG
- Intel Core i7-4710HQ
- 16GB Kingston Hyper-X 1600MHz RAM
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980M 4GB - ETA 25/11
- Samsung Evo (?GB)
- 3K IPS matte display
- Intel Wireless N 7260
Thoughts?
Also:
1) Is the i7-4870 worth the wait until ETA 04/12 and £150 extra cost vs i7-4710HQ? My gut instinct is saying no.
2) Is the 4K PLS panel a better choice than the 3K IPS matte panel? In terms of scaling in games. I am definitely leaning towards 3K as I have been happy with the 3K panel on my Gigabyte.
3) Can Windows boot from an M.2. SSD or only SATA?ericc191 likes this. -
You can't wait for 5/12 to get the killer 1525 ? also you have mysn.co.uk it's slightly pricier but they come with IPS MAT screen ANNND 7265
The gigabyte P35xV3, is 2100 Euro compared to the P650SG 980M, i didn't understand people choosing it tbh. Some pointed out the 8 GDDR5 vs 4GDDR5, but that does not justify the +300-400 euros , and it's way too slim to be cooled well. -
MYSN is £1,743.03 for a near identical build with 4K screen to PCspecialist with 4K screen, which is priced at £1,521.00. I personally think a 3K IPS matte display is more suitable for me vs 4K glossy and only PCspecialist offers the 3K IPS matte panel as an option. Plus I prefer the aluminium finish of the P650 vs the sandblasted aluminium finish of the P651. -

Edit: apparently PCspecialist's 4K panels are the Samsung LTN156FL02-L01's, which according to earlier posts in this thread are not very good.
2nd edit: I may go with MSYN or Scan after all... the only problem I have with that is: 1) Scan don't offer a fingerprint scanner, which I loved and found really useful on my P170SM 2) MYSN has the sanblasted finish and XMG branding, which I'm not so keen on. Though both have alternatives to the 7260... which are very big bonuses - however, I did have trouble with the Killer 1202 on my Clevo, which is the only alternative Scan offers. -
http://forums.scan.co.uk/showthread.php?3474-3XS-Graphite-LG1720-1520
I'm using killer 1202 with Clevo P150, generic driver without Killer software suite work without a issue. -
THAT DOES IT. NO 7260 AT ALL. BURN IT IN FIRE.
There's no way in hell I'm even giving the 7260 a second chance. Now it's definitely either Scan or MYSN. -
Hey Cakefish just wondering why you didn't like your Gigabyte P35 and what attracts you to this CLEVO model?
-
I think the only thing that is making me hesitate to get it from Scan is the lack of a fingerprint scanner. Which is a rather minor detail.
EDIT: Scan offer a complementary mug! One of which is a jellyfish design which fits right up my alley being a marine biology student. On a more serious note, they also have a dead pixel guarantee whereas MYSN don't. I think my mind is made up. I'll miss having that fingerprint scanner, but it isn't worth having to accept either the less attractive branding & no dead pixel guarantee of MYSN, or the revenge of the AC 7260 with PCspecialist.
2) The anodized aluminium surface is very susceptible to cosmetic damage - I accidentally dropped a USB cable from a few inches above the palm wrest and it made a visible (albeit tiny) dent/chip - whereas I know for a fact that I've done the same to my Clevo P170SM and it has been fine.
3) My Nexus 5 refuses to connect to the laptop via USB when it is on AC power but will on battery. The phone happily connects to both my older Samsung and Clevo laptops when they are on both AC power and battery.
4) CPU throttling and noisy fans round out the list of reasons - though they are not anywhere near as problematic for my personal needs than the above, but still could be improved by jumping ship to Clevo.
5 ) I lied. There is an added bonus reason. The P650 has 2 x 2W speakers, while the P35X v3 has 2 x 1.5W speakers. I feel I have been let down somewhat by the speakers on the Gigabyte model, I was expecting better. Apparently the P650 is a good improvement over past models in this regard. -
Thanks for your input.
Loud fans and and throttling had me concerned about the P35 with such a thin chassis.
It seems like a great laptop but the 970M seems like a better fit for it.
Hopefully we will have no such problems with the GTX 980M in the CLEVO/Sager. -

Looks like a very nice set up...I might be worried about storage but with SSD's falling in price you can get bigger drives cheaper and install yourself.
Overall it's pretty much what I would go with. So great choiceCakefish likes this. -
Cake very good setup. I might buy the same setup from scan for my brother.

It'll take some getting used to to go back to having a glossy panel, when I've spent the past couple of years with matte displays though! -
Cake don't worry you're a hero to the forums in a way, you took the first bullet and prepped us w/ much needed info, overall looks like a great laptop, and as with most new hardware will sometimes start off with issues until the public gives their feedback. I"m sure in a few months time Gigabyte will have corrected some of the issues, and or v4 will be the answer to that.
As for me, I"ll be following your lead and preordering the p751zm from BM and be one of the first as well to review it here to give people the heads up. Your attitude and perserverance is what people need around here, showing that you didn't just flip a table after the first issue and kept troubleshooting for 40+ pages. Hopefully I don't have the same issues with mine and all goes smoothly. I trust in Clevo because they have some of the longest experience in doing this, so I raise my glass to you! You are truly a scholar and a true NBR Member.
Let it be known throughout the forums that Cakefish first fought the mighty p35x beast, slayed it down, and tamed it as a pet, after which he released it back into the wild to let it grow up a bit more and learn to fend for itself!!!!!
ALL HAIL CAKE FISH and his/her might deeds!!!!
You've been quite the inspiration -
I may be getting this as a second laptop (currently own the Gigabyte P35x CF1). However, I dont see any sellers that can supply one to the US with my specs.
i7-4870HQ (or better)
GTX 980M 4GB
4K Sharp screen
16GB RAM
no hdd/ssd needed as I have plenty
I also have spare OS to use.
If anyone can find me seller for US on this, please PM me and I'll order it. -
I'm thinking 970m is the best option for any thin and light. Haven't seen 980m in such a chassis yet but I think it will still run fairly warm in a thin and light. 100W TDP is 100W TDP.

The mDP ports on the side; what's the difference between those and a Thunderbolt port? The use the same connector, unless I'm mistaken, and that could be completely possible.
