-200mv on CPU. Been running prime95 for like 10-15 mins. Sitting between 69c and 71c with factory icd paste job. Stock voltage is higher fan rpms(about 2x) and sitting around 89c

Wow. -200?? Most I've ever done on a laptop was -170. Sounds like you scored a nice cpu.

So far so good. I was -170 until today. -170 going to -200 shaved off like 2c. I wouldn't sweat it

What voltage range are you getting in HWmonitor at -200? I'm at -100mv and get .952V-1.078V but I get an error every time I startup XTU about watchdog not working correctly. Before getting the error I do see XTU running in windows services. It seems about right since my voltage range was 1.037-1.179 stock.

So does that mean the fan profiles are fixed? Wasn't really paying attention to what the EC version entails.

Hopefully it's being addressed by the time both of us get ours.
I'm tempted to go ahead and just get the 4k screen right now, because I don't want to wait over a month to play if I have to send it back. My 17x this year, has finally met its limits on fps, among playing on medium-low. I think it worked out while I waited on the 10 series, even skipped the 9xx series entirely.
Now don't let me down sager!

So I just looked at my screen on my P670rp6 non g sync 1060 and it says that its a Lg Philips LGD046C (LP173WF4-Spd1) I had seen this panel mentioned with other g sync capable laptops. Does that mean that this one is as well or is there more too it? Can anyone else check their 1080 panel to compare please

-200mv ended up crashing so I'm going back to -170. At that I'm seeing about o.92mv min to about 0.99 max with 0.95 average. That's between desktop and witcher3

That's a GSync capable display. If you bought it without it though that's it... You can't turn it on anyway. The options would be in the nVidia control panel in discrete gpu mode.

@Galm17 I was looking at another thread where someone was unhappy with the Samsung LTN156FL02-L01 and replaced it with the SHARP LQ156D1JW04. I think their main complaint was the way yellow looked (they had a few pictures).

Do you know anything about the differences between these panels? It sounds like you're pretty happy with the Samsung so I'm no overly concerned, but I was just wondering. It looks like some builders offered the Sharp display for some Clevo models.

As far as I know the effect will be big I bought MX300 because it gives battery life a nice boost.

I saw that, it was weird. I don't think it was calibrated, but from his photos it really did super yellow. Idk what happened. The Sharp is so good its for like professional photo editing, but you'd lose GSync and response time. I've calibrated it and am using it next to a monitor I know is also calibrated correctly and it looks good. Not over anything, but idk if they are like inconsistent or anything as I only have one, my friends will be here Friday so either I'll post pics of his engraving or he will and I'll tell you how it looks.

Pretty sure a 950 Pro consumes only marginally more power than a normal ssd and less than a HDD. I don't remember people I know complaining about a battery life change after install.

I too am wondering how big of a difference it will make... I opted for a 256gb 950 pro this time around instead of the 600p I got last time.

    Anybody have a good guess?

Hi everyone, I'm new here and I just got my Sager NP8152-S. When I play cs go, the fps~30. But once I plug the ac adapter, the fps~110. Is that mean I need to charge my laptop every time in order to play games?

The GPU limits frame rates and also does this weird adaptive clock scheme on battery so it doesn't nuke itself.

Havent really tried on this laptop but some do use AC and battery at same time to provide full power draw... Go to nvidia control panel settings and enable maximum performance in 3d settings as default to see it go back up.

Actually, here's a pretty nice review of the Samsung LTN156FL02-101 panel (in an older Asus laptop). I actually wonder if the panel is exactly the same or if Clevo has an updated version:

ohh well I had this ssd for awhile now but i would probably get the 960 as well when it comes out. I took out the 950 from my other rig and so I might replace it with the newly 960.

Dose any one thought about 200+W car charger? I couldn't find any one with power more than 120W.
Can any one tell the size of the AC adapter connector for the NP8153 ?
For people who look for SSD power consumption search in www.tomshardware.com they offer power consumption by minutes of battery life and www.anandtech.com and they calculate power consumption by Watt

Update with people concerned about the issue of pressure from the case on the screen, my reseller is unable to make any progress.

In some instances, the "bleed" got worse. So it just depends on the luck really. For anyone with 4k screens + G-Sync, could I get your panel's model number?

Remember, those watts come off the engine. 200w continuous is a pretty big strain. Make sure your alternator can take it.

It seems several of us are able to get -180-185. I get -181 stable (CPUZ reports -185). That might work for you aswell? :)

    Hi!
I am reading this thread almost from past 200 posts.
    On 9.09.2016 I ordered my clevo - exacly: HYPERBOOK SL702 VR [P670RS-G] GTX 1070 from HYPERBOK.PL reseller.
    link: http://sklep.hyperbook.pl/hyperbook-sl702-vr-p671rsg-gtx-1070-p-25983.html
Still w8ing. It was delayed due to shiping delay, then delayed due to faulty GTX that was heating up on stress test to 95 degrees.
They told me so. They offered me a polishing of a heatsink as a bonus for w8ting.
I was asking them about all the issues:
    • ACPI.sys - they don't know this issue yet, also they state that on EXPO where they had a exhibbition they had no issues with multiple VR and external displayes. No one was complaining when comparing to other brands.
    • Backlight bleeding - they state that is more common with 650 clevos
    • EC / fan issue - in newer laptops there is updated EC,
    • REPASTE - they do it as standard due to their aspirations to be "hyper". They dont use kyronaut due to excesiv and fast drying and hig price compared to gains. They use sth like gelid - dont remember which. I will ask.
    • POLISHING HEATSINK - they state it can lower temps by 2-3 degress in stress tests.
    • In 670 there is a 60Hz panel, OC by drivers to 75Hz. Confirmed it could be OC more.
I am curious about temps in my unit after their treatment.

Other things i would like to mention:
If you want do installation of WIN7 like Hardcore88 and update to WIN10 (i think it was his nickname) u can insert all the drivers to install.wim
    http://codeabitwiser.com/2014/03/how-to-install-windows-7-with-only-usb-3-0-ports/
Here is a guid to insert drivers to USB 3.0 using cmd. But when you mount install.wim u could copy and paste all drivers to files inside a mount folder - it will be copied with windows.

I don't know after reading all thread is ACPI issue solved or not. Someone meantioned it was Intel and Nvidia drivers crashing with each other and solved by installing in the right order drivers and changing discrete and hybrid mode a couple of times between installation - anyone can confirm that?

Also - anyone want to buy GoW4 code? :D

P.S. - i was unable to join the thread because this forum would not send me confirmation email. Had to change email adress.. strange.

Temps will not be ultra low, still mid 80s. The limitation is simply the amount of air a laptop cooler can pass to cool off is limited. A thermal interface doesn't accelerate cooling, it just reduces the thermal resistance between surfaces.

Given enough time, it will reach 80s.

The GPU will throttle before you can damage it, which is why some users are undervolting, reducing the watts of heat and thus spending less time throttled.

Can anyone with a P670RS-G please try enabling MSHYBRID graphics option (via bios or hot key control centre), restart, login to windows and then shut down.

For some reason when MSHYBRID is enabled for me, my laptop will never shut down.
DISCREET on the other hand shuts down fine.

It just sits there in limbo with the CPU and GFX fans pumping, keyboard illuminated and screen powered on but black/idle.

I've tried multiple restarts, unplugging all USB devices, unplugging other displays, latest intel graphics drivers, latest nvidia drivers =\

    BIOS: 2.18.1260
    Intel 530 Graphics: 20.19.15.4416
    Nvidia Drivers: 368.83

Guys, noob question: If I buy a non g-sync p650rp6, will it affect Premamod's availability? Or will it work no matter the display? I'm asking because I'm quite sure there was a version that was only compatible with g-sync or non g-sync cards

No idea about the Prema mod, but when I was looking into buying the laptop A LOT of people stressed to me how important it is to have a gsync display. So I think it may be better to just go ahead and buy one with gsync and not worry about it.

I don't know how it affects availability, but I would consider it worth spending the extra, money it should only be like 50 bucks more. The TN non GSync display is pretty awful, the IPS one is much better. And yes, GSync is a very nice benefit. For example, Black Ops 3 tears like no ones business, but GSync eliminates it completely making it butter smooth without the input lag of VSync.

    Nope, no overclocking. All stock.

I played Miscreated and Arma III recently. It will linger in the high 60's for about an hour. Then mid-70's by two hours. And at some point bounces back between 80-81C. I asked Eric Foy from XoticPC if that was normal and he said anything below 90 was acceptable and to try using compressed air on it if temps went to 90C.

The CPU heat doesn't get close to that in other titles, like Star Citizen.

Not used to notebook heat loads myself. Been building PC's for about 20 years so those kinds of temps are quite... different.

Cooling in laptops are different always since you are trying to put something close to desktop specs on a slim chassis and it doesn't work well unless it is thicker and bigger. The question is how much can the manufactures make the cooling system more efficient and powerful and doesn't tax on the battery of the laptop.

I don't know about miscreated but ARMA III eats cpus for breakfast. No matter what your using usage is gonna be high. Star Citizen is incredibly graphically intensive, but the cpu usage shouldn't be 100% like I would guess it is near in ARMA.

How is the performance for Arma III? I am a huge Arma III player so I might at some point play that game on this laptop than my rig since it is more convenient.

No idea, I don't enjoy playing it with such big server bottleneck and stuff, I've never been impressed with its performance on anything.

8153-S handles it like a beast. 16GB memory option on the -S I think was a nice choice for games like Arma. Anyway, I can literally slide everything to max at 1080P and still get exceptional frame rates.

Well, 85 bucks for an IPS G-Sync is kind of too much when I have to consider so many things that has to be bought. I don't mind the tearing, I can't even notice it :D I can upgrade the display afterwards anyway, and most gaming will be done on a 23'' non g-sync screen I'll be buying, so there's no point in spending an extra in a G-Sync screen.

    Thanks!

Had I known before hand the 1070 was so powerful I would have forfeit the G-Sync and ran the entire thing on fast-sync. I think I mentioned that in my review. I'm pretty picky, and I can't really notice the difference between G-Sync+V-Sync versus Fast-Sync.

How does one go about upgrading a monitor later on? I'd like to see this. Perhaps a 100Hz panel down the road for me?
