Wait a min, assume one of those 2TB HDD is running from the optical bay with SATA III so only the esata port is SATA II?

If so might be worth adding a 850 pro or Evo if I can run it at SATA III speeds.

Hmm.. actually I don't think so man. When I checked with crystal disk info, for my optical drive I see this (My F drive is the HDD in the optical bay):
    R9wdbJ1.jpg

All my drives say under Transfer mode: SATA / 600 | SATA / 600 except the one above, so unless I just don't have it set right (which is possible I guess.) it may not be what you are looking for?

OK, then we only have 4 SATA III ports which are tied to the 2 msata and the 2 2.5" bays. For 850 evo/pro I'd need to use one of the 2.5" bays and move a HDD into either the optical bay or esata port.

I bet it is showing 5x SATA 6Gb/s drives because that is what the drives are reporting they are. Not necessarily because the port is/is not SATA 6Gb/s

As it has been established above the chipset can only support 4x SATA 6 Gb/s

I'm waiting for the msata version of the 850 evo as there hasn't been any signs of the 850 pro being released outside the 2.5" form factor.
It'll go well with my existing 840 evo and I can install windows 10 on it later.

Quick question on these msata ssd, are there any heat sinks/shields as I noticed my 840 evo at 61 degrees the other day. It sits in the bottom slot and I see no form of heat reduction of any kind at this msata slot.

No, msata and M.2 drives do not ship with heatsinks in any model I am aware of. 61C is ok for the controller though.

Can anyone with this laptop PLEASE PM me your screen color calibration profile! Trust me anything you have is gonna be better then my uncoordinated calibration! I can't seem to get my screen even close to looking right how it was before (I installed the new Nvidia drivers so I lost my settings)

Anyway in case you don't here's mine from a ChiMei 72% NTSC Matt screen View attachment CMN1735.zip

There are several options already built into Windows. If you go to the Color Management options, the click the Add button on the bottom left you can then pick from the default ICC Profiles. Try sRGB IEC619966-2.1, click on one and click OK. Then back on the Color Management page, select that profile and click Set as Default Profile. If that does't look good, do the same with another profile.

Loving this machine. On whatever paste Sager used I can run 70W @ 85C for 4.2GHz and these 980M are a dream.

I have no complaints with my machine now.

    I7-4940MX @ 4.1GHz
    32GB RAM
    2x 240GB Raid0
2x 1 TB storage not in raid
    2x980M running in SLI.

Don't try my settings I'm feeding it 660W via the splitter I purchased separately. They replaced everything. The heatsinks too. Now with my old heatsink on my CPU I couldn't pass 3.8GHz without overheating.

I run 4.1 GHz because it's not stable at stock voltage.

I haven't opened the machine to repaste because everything works so well. And yes the 70W power limit runs an average of 4-4.1GHz with the lowest dip (Catzilla) being 3.8GHz

Xotic and Sager are the way to go.

Oh it's fantastic. I told them to replace the CPU heatsink after hearing about people maxing 85 stock while I throttled. They fixed my trackpad too. Couldn't be happier!

Good for you Ethrem, glad to see you FINALLY have a working machine. In my case I got some CLU and now I can keep a nice CPU OC =D.

Now I'm feeling the upgrade and tinker bug myself T-T.

Finally settled in on a CPU overclock I like. Nice performance boost but not really pushing the edge for daily use. Hovers around 85-88c fans on auto and the laptop on a flat surface.

Hi guys I'm interest in buying a sagar but am having trouble understanding the model numbers. What is the difference between the np9377 and np9377-s. What does the s stand for. Thanks

-s is a little bit more upgraded over the traditional 9377. It includes things like extra ram, SSD, blu ray optical drive, upgraded thermal compound, and dead pixel guarantee.

Although if you decide to configure it how you want that pretty much goes out the window anyway

The "-s" model is simply a "value" upgrade that starts with higher base specs at a bit of a discount. It differs in no way from the non-S model if you were to select the same parts.

Thanks for clerifying guys. I also was looking on exotic pc and all the models under sagar only show one gpu. Are all sagars single gpu configurations. How do you know Wich one are sli. I think the np9377 is sli right but sagar only sell it with one gpu or is there price for dual gpu. Thanks again.

the P37xSM-A models, of which Sager re-brands the P377SM-A as the NP 9377, have the ability to purchase two GPUs. If you look for it in the configurator, it will be there.

Got it . Now to figure out Wich one to order. It's between the np9377 or np9772. I have a clevo 980m at home I bought for my alienware 17 but decided to to sell the 17 as I didn't want to deal with all the issues everyone was having with the 980m in alienware. So if I bought one of the two mentioned laptops above with single 980m I could simply stick the one I got at home in it and have a sli machine.

You would need an SLI cable as well as the heatsink and thermal pads. You COULD sell the 980M directly and buy a SLI 980M machine and be done with it as well, however.

Sorry for so many questions. This is last one. Ok probably not.
From what I've been reading the np9377 is pretty much the best sagar laptop you can buy.

    Question or Statement? ;)

Everyone has different needs so there isn't a "best" model. If you're needing the performance the 9377 model offers though, yeah it's a pretty good buy.

Possibly. Good luck with it! If you want the best cooling, look into purchasing the P370EM CPU heatsink and the P370EM slave GPU heatsink. They fit together. Your slave GPU will run a bit hotter (which doesn't matter because maxwell is the coolest GPU I've ever seen) and your CPU will run ~10 degrees celcius cooler. You can keep the old heatsinks if anything's wrong with the new ones too.

I was actually thinking of doing what you suggested . Order the laptop with sli 980m and sell the one I have at home. The Upgrade To SLI Is +650 IN CONFIGURATION Options . I should be able to sell the 980m I have at home for 750. Or at least break even. And I wouldn't have to mess with installing mine and buying another heatsink and pads .=D

RJTech sells 980Ms for ~$720, so you could try asking ~$700 for yours. Should be fine; it's a working card. Good luck!

Depends on where you are of course as some have to ship it and pay tax which can adjust the expected price up.

    I have another question guys.
If I order the np9377 with dual 980m's can I simply turn one off and use it as a single gpu machine. Or does it not work that way. Cuz I know a few games don't work proper with sli and some people say they don't want some of the headaches that sli causes .

And also on the os. I hate windows 8 with a passion. And I am 100% content with 7. If I order this laptop with windows 7 will I still be able to play all the games that come out for the next two years or will I be screwing myself by getting 7 .
Did I mention that I really hate windows 8.
    Thanks.

Haven't' worked on a laptop SLI setup and trying to break the configuration before, but the foolproof way would be just to remove the GPU. You'd have to repaste every time you put it back in though. It's possible to be like in desktops the Nvidia Control Panel gives you the option of operating in SLI or not. The way these are bridged however I don't think that option will be available.

Edit: I checked with an Aorus X7 we had on hand and you are able to break SLI in those. Something in the back of my mind is making me recall that Sager does theirs differently though and don't allow it. So further verification from an owner would probably be helpful to confirm.

Can anyone with the np9377 confirm that you can switch between sli and single gpu without actually taking one of the cards out.

You go into nVidia control panel and change it there. Requires a reboot.

On the OS front, I'd get used to 8.1 if I were you. There are bound to be features taken away. For example, nobody knows if directx 12 will work on 7.

I can tell you that now that I got used to 8.1, I fly through the interface much faster than I did on 7.

You can chose if you want to run SLI in the Nvidia CP. Also you'll be fine with Windows 7, 8 sucks and not worth the time IMO, I'd get 7, then wait for 10 and upgrade then..
