Looks like Sager is officialy offering the Clevo P370EM as the NP9370!!! Will come with dual video card options either AMD Radeon CrossfireX or nVidia GeForce SLI, featuring 7970m or 680m as their flagship options! And of course all the other quality stuff we've come to expect from Clevo and Sager in the past. Trying to get details, but it should be same/simliar to the P370EM that we've already seen out there.

Definitely looking forward to this rig
-
im really looking forward to your video review! would it be possible to show it with a single 7970m single 680m and xfire 7970ms and sli 680ms?
-
Sigh... everything is good, except for no thunderbolt.
I use external monitor/keyboard 90% of the time and daily bring between office and home. Having need to plug/unplug the AC adapter, keyboard, mouse, network cable, audio cable, esata cable, video cable ... soooo many cables everyday a few times is a real pain. Thunderbolt can simplify these into only 2 cables.
USB 3.0 dock is not good enough because Ethernet emulation will increase response time; and it can't hook into 10GBE network like thunderbolt.
Any idea if P370EM can be switched on while the lip is closed? -
Estimated price? Hope it's nowhere near the M18x with Dual GPU configuration also cuz definitely Alienware is much cooler (IMOO) when price is not involved ^_^

I just pre-ordered mine in Germany with 3610QM, 680M GTX SLI (what else...), 16 GB RAM, AUO Panel, SSD
"the waiting is the hardest time"... -
-
After reviewing the screens, I found the Chimei Innolux screens to have the best specs. I am placing my order tomorrow, thanks to the guys at Eurocom for being so great!
I am ordering it with the;
glossy Chimei Innolux screen
3610qm
1* AMD HD 7970m
8 GB 1600Mhz RAM (will install my own later)
and a 750GB hybrid HDD SATA 3
optimized for my school budget, and requirements of games and software available today.
as stated to me before, SLi and X-Fire are not yet utilized, or utilized well in most games. So I will upgrade to X-fire 7970m's in a year.... or to the 8***m series
also, there are lots of ES intel chips on ebay. like the 3740qm. will these work in clevos? I heard somewhere that ES chips wont control the fans... is this true? if it will work I will upgrade my CPU along with the second 7970m.
EDIT, Engineering Sample Processors belong to Intel and are NOT for sale.
Thus purchasing an ES chip the same as buying stolen property. -
I found a price from Ava Direct Gaming Notebooks Custom Built by AVADirect about 3/4 down they list the price of $1984. But they list the P170EM as $1526, so that price is inflated compared to a Sager reseller's price. The P170EM is almost $200 more since it has an OS pre-selected, and for whatever other reasons. That = 13% more than what Sager would cost. So if we do that math we can assume the NP9370 would cost roughly $1726 base cost with a 7970M, and obviously lower with a 670M or something. So my prediction is: We will see a 9370 from Sager around $1550 with a low end GPU option as the base cost for the unit.
I was considering buying a 9170, but since this appeared, I think I might just buy the 9370 instead. Looks like it has just about the same battery life, if a bit less. It has similar weight, and looks killer. Best part is the SLI/Xfire option, talk about long lasting appeal here, the 3rd Gen line of CPU are going to be here a while, and the high end ones will be a possible cheap upgrade, along with either adding a second GPU(if 1 is selected like I would do) or buying newer SLI/Xfire setups down the road.
I had put in an order on an X7200, but backed off due to the size, weight, and battery life. I needed a bit more portability with that power, and this laptop seems to fit the bill finally, and isn't 18.4 inches like that silly monster they sold a couple years ago. -
I wouldnt hold my breath for a 1700 dollar price tag, expect all oems/ resellers to be around the 2k base price. There is more tech inside, and no more enduro/optimus. This will be much more than a 170em on all fronts, lead by its price. but it is a platform that could last years and years.

Notebookcheck's review. Looks like the quality is very mediocre, keyboards is not great and the touchpad is really crappy. But the worst part is the temps, even the non-extreme CPU is overheating under load. Same goes for the video cards. Decent screen quality though.
I'd wait till more reviews come out (not from the resellers) before giving it a thought. -
Order placed!
Now is the wait! should be shipped next week -

Honestly, it seems the laptop's chassis is a bit overloaded by the components and heatsinks. The laptop is picked up by the corners, and doesn't flex too bad, but you can see it flex. The screen is quite flimsy looking also when opened, but as long as it doesn't shake/vibrate while open I wouldn't take a point off for that. This is a 17'' laptop that weighs 8 pounds, it's a 16:9 form factor, and nothing short of a macbook pro wouldn't flex a bit. Clevo has been using crap touchpads forever, the last decent touchpad I used on a Clevo was the 9280, or D900F. That was hands down the finest touchpad I have ever used on a Clevo. My W860, or 8690 had a terrible touchpad, and numerous times I got angry enough at it to bang on it even! Anyway, I would love to have a laptop like this for what I plan on using it for. -
And yes, there are few notebooks out there in the 17"+ category with no lid flex (Dell M6700, HP 8770w, M17xR4, M18xR2, etc). -
I went with Eurocom. Again a shout out to those guys
as for the specs of my build:
17.3-inch (43.9cm); FHD 1920x1080; GLOSSY (Glare); 300nits; 500:1; LVDS; Chimei Innolux N173HGE-L21; Backlight LED
i7 3610QM
1x AMD HD 7970m
2x 4GB 1600Mhz Ram
750GB SATA 3 SSHD w/ 8GB soild sate
DVD/RW ODD
As for the price, I get the student discount, but the reg price is just under 2500. Eurocom is releasing the Scorpius next week
Side Note, IC Diamond Paste is standard
I will upgrade to duel GPU next year, or to the next gen card, depending on cost/performance.
I plan on using my Scorpius for 3D CAD/CAM, 3D Modeling rendering, Gaming, and Video recording and rendering.
What would you use it for? -
Well, I am a Computer Science major, so I will be using it for software development, graphics, and whatever else is required. I also play lots of modern games, and am a forced drivers addict in games, I just love layering AA everywhere. I am sort of at a fork in the road though for what I really want out of the laptop this time around. I would love to have it to take to school, and take notes, play games if I have no work to do, and just go around town. But really I need a 9150 for something like that, but at the same time, the P370EM would be able to do that also, just a bit less, and heavier when you figure I'm carrying a few books already. But I used to bring my 9280 around with me, and yes it was heavy, but still portable and powerful to make up for it compared to a desktop. Yes I could buy a HP envy 6 or something to do what I'm talking about, but then I'd be screwed on games, but I'd still have my desktop. It's a tough decision, I'm still trying to decide what to do.

"Mark my word, it's not gonna ship next week. You know why"
not sure i follow. because of the long weekend? because i am excited to get it? because its the first batch shipped? I am not in a time crunch so im not too worried about it but the sooner the better.
"–Approx shipping time is 7-10 days." i dont know if that is delivered/sent to shipping/or time in travel... but i will keep posted -
I sincerely hope you will have more luck with them than most of us here. -
Pssst, they are up on our site now for pre-order

Added today for pre order, cant wait to get our hands on one!
-
In the ballpark with your estimates. Kudos.
As already posted here, pricing is available up at the various builders and resellers. -
lmao SLI GTX 680M's. Run ALL the games!
-
-
With SLi ENABLED DUAL 2x 4096MB PCI-Express nVIDIA GTX 680M's (8192MB Total) w/ GDDR5 DX11 Video Cards, what FPS am I looking at for Battlefield 3?
-
Judging by the FRAPS of this M18x you should have no problems holding 60fps with v-sync.
-
2~3 more weeks of endurance and I can get this >_< (although it means 2~3 more weeks of no computer...)
If i buy this with single 7970m, better cooling + overclocking or same as np9170? -
-
It is very similar between the two, the biggest differences are the ability to upgrade to X-Fire/SLI, the lack of Enduro/Optimus, and the better sound quality. Advantage P370EM.
I just got confermation on which is the master, its the one next to the HHD (shares a fan with CPU) -
It would be nice if I could afford 7970m X-fire but my budget don't allow it ):
Thanks for the info. -
This looks like a lot of fun

I will do some benchmarks when i get mine. Side note could someone help me with my Sig? -
Is anyone purchasing the 680m in SLI (4096mb x2), for this Sager/Clevo? I would like to see benchmarks and compare them to the Alienware M18x R2 with 680m in SLI.
-
680m SLI benches can be found here. They dont have a straight up comparison, I want to see benches with X-Fire 7970m's in this machine.
-
Are those are the 8GB VRAM scores? Maybe I have a misunderstanding of how GPU's work. What I'm trying to ask is, will it perform better because it has more VRAM? Perhaps the amount doesn't exactly matter, passed a certain point. -
Google Chrome has a decent translator. Yes 2x 4GB 680m's. Here is a quote from the article.
"The DirectX 11.1-capable Kepler model is based on 28 nm small structures (Fermi architecture: 40 nm ) and contains a 4096 MByte big GDDR5 video memory, which is tied up with 256 MB. The clock rates are 720 MHz (core), respectively, 1800 MHz (memory)."
"Modern DirectX 11 programs elicit the two graphics cards just a tired smile. Since we have, for example, the Unigine Heaven Benchmark: 131.8 fps , which reached the XMG P722 with the use of 1,280 x 1,024 pixels and normal tessellation setting, good 78% higher than the result of a single GTX 680M (74.2 fps @ Schenker XMG P702 ). The Radeon HD 7970M benefit even more from a second GPU : instead of 80.1 fps ( Alienware M17x R4 ) we have almost 90% better 151.3 fps determine ( Alienware M18x R2 ). Should be noted with that the Radeon HD 7970M CF with a four GHz was tested overclocked Core i7-3920XM."
A 4Ghz i7XM processor in th M18x "may" have something to do with some of their tests lol. Also, they use different hardware for each configuration.
Also, as seen in the game benchmarks, SLI and CF are not always supported, and sometimes hurt the performance. But 32000 points in Vantage is still huge! -
I dont think 8GB of VRAM makes it faster... as most games and software dont fill 2GB of VRAM at any point. What matters is the clock speed, VRAM frequency and mem interface. As far as I know...
