Reviews are available at notebookcheck Clevo P150SM Review and Clevo P157SM Review
It looks like the stock screen is a downgrade from the P15xEM, but GTX 765M on the P150SM runs as cool as ice. -
Prema BIOS Mod link for this model in my signature!

Just wanted to post some pictures of our exclusive BIOS so you can see some differences All the new options and menu's are NOT part of the stock Clevo BIOS, there's quite a bit of tuning that can be done
This is the same BIOS that we use on the P150/P151/P157/P170/P177

Advanced Menu -> HDD Password: (Setting a password enabled self encrypting drives that support it)
Boot Menu -> OS Select / UEFI PXE Support: (You can set UEFI boot without setting windows 8 mode so you can UEFI boot any OS that supports it)
We'll be more than happy to answer any questions about these
Ohh and one more thing.....
Yes that is an overclocked 4700MQ in our Pollux 1613 (P157SM): (You can also overclock the embedded GPU, and the 780m clocks like a champ too)

Xoticpc have added both the P157SM and P151SM1 to their website. I still dont see P150SM on most resellers. anyone can comment on this please?
-
-
considering the 157SM as my first Sager.
1. how is the fan noise on sagers when idle/web browsing? i understand gaming, but what about just web browsing?
2. Which of the Xoticpc upgrades are worth getting? -
This is from the review at notebookcheck:
-

Remember they were using the old style of heatsink so their temperature and noise results are useless.
-
So how long before these actually ship? Do any resellers actually have these on hand or was it a soft launch and nothing ships till the end of the month?
-
Another month of waiting for the P150SM.......sigh....
-
they need to review it with the 780m
-
The one thing that really bothers me is excessive fan noise when gaming, yeah I know it comes with the teritory but ASUS and MSI do a really good job reducing fan noise in there new models. -
I feel like the GTX 780M is overkill..... for me atleast...

I really hope so because thermals were not one of CLEVO's strong suites, not that they didn't keep things cool but the fan management was someting to be desired. They were either off or full blast with not much in between ( for my older model ) anyway hope they worked and improved cooling whith new fan control while making things quieter.
It's either this or a MSI GT60/Barebone. -
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
Well the sager made me pause with the mew heatsink design I admit.
-
Clevo changed the EC supplier for the 2013 models so let's see...
-

All of the above being said, I find the P157SM quite ugly - an unhappy attempt to mix the sober lines of the P150xx with the puerile MSI design. If only they had taken Alienware instead of MSI as a reference, they might have come up with something resembling the Asus ROG line. Maybe all that design effort should have been invested in a docking station or a sturdier chassis or smarter cooling...
The P150SM, though, stays true to form and is none the worse for it. -
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
I would hardly call the GT60 design puerile...
-
We just put the P150SM up on our site FYI, we got some stock in early, its ready to roll now =)
-
Would love to buy a 150SM w 780M asap, but not a single trace of these new Clevos here in Sweden.
-
is this thew thermal bridge cooling system people are talking about from the other thread? -
-
what a quick reply mythlogic!
so when meaker mentioned:
All the p157sm's are shipping with the "new" heatsinks which should be quieter/better performing? -
-
What is everyone's thoughts on the Intel 525 mSata vs the full Intel 520 SSD for OS purposes? Is the 520 going to perform better?
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
You can check anandtechs review but they are really close.
-
Any mention of improved sound or keyboard? I saw a lot of complaints on those issues with the previous model.
-
-
Is there a difference between the P150SM and the P157SM? Is the P150SM out yet?
-
The P157SM has 2 2.5 inches slots whereas the 150 has only one.
Yes the P150 is out. I'm ordering mine tonight ( PWNPCS.co.UK), though other US resellers like MythLogic or other.

So is it true Sager won't be building off the P150SM chassis? only the P157SM?
-

Yes, at this time Sager does not plan to offer the NP150SM. We cant rule it out for the future but dont expect it anytime soon.
-
So what is the NP8230 that has the P151SM Chassis? I guess I am a little confused how it differs from the P150SM.

Like, it's not even about flashiness. I can appreciate some bells-and-whistles on an otherwise plain (which I prefer) style, like what Alienware has done with their laptops. But it's almost strange that anyone would not feel complete and utter shame carrying around and publicly using MSI's gaming notebooks or Sager's new styles. Obviously, I can't pass off anything opinionated as objective because that's not true. But a style so ugly and offensive to the sensible is so incomprehensible. I don't know. Maybe I've been so exposed and involved in design and visual aesthetics for my entire life, that I can't believe people would have such poor tastes.
What a shame, because Sager's like the only USA manufacturer I can find. -
I do not know why they thought that little symbol on the mouse pad was a good idea. -
Larry@LPC-Digital Company Representative
This is true....no plans as of yet for the 'basic type' P150SM, from Sager or it's dealers. Of course things could change...
-
I think it's sad and stupid of Sager to not offer the P150SM.
They end up with unhappy or lost customers.
I for one had an NP8150 and was planning to buy this right away from Sager with upgraded CPU and all, so well over 2k, but after talking to direct Sager sales they have no plans or care to sell it. They rather push the other one as it cost more so more profit margin plus one less machine to manage/support even though they are basically all the same.
To me the P157SM is horrible. For how bulky it is the thing is ugly. At least other larger ones like Asus look semi decent but this is just my 2 cents.
Sucks because now I have to buy from someone else and risk the whole warranty mess because Sager was good with warranty and other shops I just don't feel so safe with
I hope people don't buy that new model and sales are low for it. Maybe it will make them think twice.
Also shocked no 802.11AC wireless card option is offered on none of these. -
Is the mSATA interface SATA2/3? And what about the rest of the SATA ports? Judging from the raid feature I'd assume those 2 are SATA3 but what about the 3rd one?
-
I just bit the bullet a few days ago and ordered a couple of P150EM's from a supplier down here in Australia, but since they just released the new P150SM's, and since my two P150EM's were still in the building phase, I got them to change the order and I paid the difference and just purchased two P150SM's for me and my wife.
Spec's are below:
Metabox (Clevo) P150SM - 15.6" Laptop
95% Gamut Matte Screen
Intel Haswell i7-4700MQ CPU 2.4Ghz - 3.4Ghz
16GB 1600Mhz DDR3 (4x4GB)
nVidia GTX 780M 4GB GDDR5
128GB Plextor M5M mSATA
750GB 7200RPM Western Digital Scorpio Black
Bigfoot Killer 1103N WiFi
Should be getting them by mid next week.
Half the reason why I got them to stop building the P150EM's and changed them to the new P150SM laptops is because I contacted Clevo direct and questioned them regarding possible future upgrades on the P150EM and if it will be possible to upgrade to a newer nvidia 700 series video card and Haswell CPU in them. Unfortunately Clevo advised me that these upgrades will NOT be possible with the P150EM model's. The main reason is because the 600M series require 100 TDP where as the 700 series require 122 (from memory) TDP (even though they are both the same MXM size). And as for Ivy Bridge CPU's going to Haswell CPU's in the P150EM it is also not possible as the TDP for ivy bridge is 45w where-as the TDP for Haswell goes up to 47 TDP. Clevo did let me know that even the product road map for the upcoming nvidia 800 series and the 5th gen Maxwell CPU's (with new mobo) will be able to fit in the P150SM model.
So that's why I'm getting some shiny new P150SM's -
Just ordered mine : (P150SM)
4700MQ, 780m 8gb ram and 256 SSD.
I should receive it next week I hope.
Hope it will rock

Well the P157SM is unacceptable to me. Does the P151SM offer a backlit keyboard? The GTX-770M is fine for me, but the backlit keyboard was something I really wanted.
Not offering the P150SM was a really stupid move on Sager's part. Are there any other US Clevo distributors other than Sager? -
