To clear up any confusion... the Clevo P151EM1 will be the Lotus P150EM on our site. The Clevo P150EM will be the Lotus P150EM-SE. :)

Does the plastic finish look durable? Is it more likely to withstand a bit of wear than the rubbery finish? (I know certain mice have a rubbery finish that eventually rubs off) Also, is the finish on the plastic one shiny or is it more like thinkpads and similar laptops that have a more rugged look?

hey xotic, i just ran into your youtube channel. really like the videos (would love to see more too. :D)

do you think you could do a video for an mSATA install on a np9130? i'm probably gonna pick up one of these as soon as ivy bridge launches but i already have an intel 310 ssd laying around.

Just take the back plate off, right above the CPU fan is a slot that is full sized with the screw already there. Remove screw, install card, install screw to hold it down.. Put the plate back on :)

    Its REALLY pretty easy

    Hopefully that will change soon!

We're hoping to get a full review up on this like you probably saw on the other models we have up there. I'll mention to include the mSATA as its one of the new features. But as Mythlogic mentioned its a pretty easy install.

I have a few questions about the Sager NP9130 or any of the Clevo P150EM models. I am specifically looking at the NP9130, not the NP9150.

    1. What is the battery life on these units using the integrated GPU? The reason I am asking is because XoticPC lists the battery life as 2-3 hours while Mythlogic lists it as up to 5 hours. If I can get 4-5 hours out of it using the lowest possible brightness with wi-fi on, that would be great.

    2. When will Ivy Bridge quad core CPU's become available on these units?

    3. Do these units have one hard drive slot, or two? Reason for asking is because the NP6165 seems to have two but I think this one has one.

    4. Is the GPU swappable? For example, in 3-4 years could I change the GPU and put a more modern one in?

    1) With Optimus across the board, battery life should be quite respectable. In the user manual PDF that's around here somewhere it was suggested that it could get 6 hours.
    2) Ivy is now expected to launch on April 23. Previously it was April 29. Expect it somewhere around that time.
    3) As I understand it, 15.6" models have one hard drive slot, plus the optical drive slot, that can be removed and replaced with an HDD caddy. The P models also have an mSATA, although I've forgotten if the W models do as well. 17.3" models on the other hand have 2 HDD slots + ODD + mSATA, IIRC.
    4) The P models (P150EM, P151EM1, P170EM) have an MXM slot GPU, which is user-upgradeable. The W models (W110ER, W150ER, W170ER) have a GPU that is soldered onto the motherboard and cannot be changed.

I'm sure if I missed something someone will correct me; I don't even have one of the current models, but I've been able to glean a bit of information by hanging around these forums.

quick question for malibal, xotic, or mythlogic:

when are you guys expecting the np9130s to start including the 7970Ms? i hear rumors of it being released around the same time as ivy bridge. do you think that i'll be able to get my np9130 with the ivy bridge AND the 7970M anytime soon?

I think your looking in the direction of the P150EM for that, not the P151 as the 7970 might be too much power. However, can't confirm that. If you'll be able to get your hands on one soon? No comment

to the retailers out there again:

are there gonna be any new graphics cards available for the np151 by the time ivy bridge comes out?? or are we gonna be stuck with the 670m if we want to buy as soon as ivy bridge launches? are there any mobile graphics cards that will be coming out within a few weeks immediately after ivy bridge launch that will be worth the wait?

I really want to know if the P151EM will accept a backlit keyboard, and even if my machine can't be built with one, what's the cost for one? Just find it hard to believe they'd have different motherboards for the P151EM and P150EM just for the backlit keyboard.

Tough decision too if I want to run with an 11.6" W110ER or go with the P151EM.

I have one question. Is the difference between the

15.6” FHD 16:9 LED Backlit Wide screen (1920x1080) Super Clear Matte Type Screen (SKU - S1R324)

    and

15.6" FHD 16:9 "Matte Type" Super Clear Ultra Bright LED Anti-Glare Screen w/ 95% NTSC Color Gamut (1920x1080) (SKU - S1R303)

really noticeable and worth the 95 dollars?

Seems like a potential gimmick to me? Might actually be convinced to pull the trigger on the 9130 but want to know more about this.

It's 1300 without, with windows 7, the better wireless card and i7. With it's 1400 which pushes my budget a bit. So if it's not worth it that would be great.

The stock screen is really nice. The 95% isn't a gimmick, it definitely is a high quality screen, but unless you need accurate color representation for photo work, I'd save your money.

Hey does anyone have any experience with the sound card in this new generation of Sager? Is it better than before or the same as the last generation? I am a bit concerned with how clean the audio will be. I know, I know, I should really get a headphone amplifier but It would be sweet if I didn't need one...plus I am very cheap :)

I ordered on Sunday from XoticPC right before IVB came out, so I was wondering since IVB isn't supposed to change the processor prices (if all the hints that were dropped are correct), could you guys at Xotic change the processor I'm getting to the equivalent Ivy Bridge one?

    Thanks for the order Fatality!
Once the Ivy Bridge CPU's are added you can change your CPU option then. If you have a sales advisor already just let them know, if you dont have one let me know and I can get it changed. If everything stays as they are you should see new options on the 29th.

If you're within your return period (30days from ship date) which is sounds like you are, you can return it and get Ivy Bridge installed in there. If you're interested in doing that shoot me a PM and I'll let you know how to set it up. I cant say it will be free as we dont know exact pricing yet. If the CPU prices are the same you wont have to pay any difference.

To the resellers/owners: Whats the noise level like when just doing normal office tasks/running on the igpu?

I saw a review somewhere that stated this thing idles at 40 dB, I want to be able to use this in public if I want to without drawing ALL that much attention to myself.

EDIT: Whoops I'm in the wrong forum, I meant to ask regarding the p150em

So then does that mean it wont fit into a laptop bag that has 1.5 inches as the rated thickness?
I ask this because I was hoping the bag manufacturers allow for stretch.
Better yet does anyone know of any backpacks that will definitely fit the 9130?
