Simple question, maybe it has been answered.

I am looking at upping the RAM on my 970TF to 32gb.

Has anyone tried a low latency RAM, say like 15 or 16 on this laptop series? Found some Hyper X Impact CAS 15 RAM on Newegg for $140 for 32GB, and just wondered if it is too low for this chipset.

    Thanks for any advice given.

Pads it's more about getting the right thickness and fit, any decent ones will do. Thermal grizzly paste does pretty well.

Thanks for the response. So for this particular model what thickness of thermal pads is suitable? They're used for video memory chipsonly if I'm not wrong.

Often it's on the VRMs and inductors too with the VRMs being the most important. Usually you want to use the same thickness as the originals or 0.5mm thinner all round if you can.

Are you worried the pads are damaged? They can usually be reused.
