I actually kind of wish I got the NP5125.. I got the NP7110 two days ago and haven't had any time to play around with it until today being extremely busy with orientation... I figured that the extra screen realistate would be nice with the 17inch over the 15inch but now that I have this 17inch.. Its just so big.. Having to lug it around to all of my classes in college and the desk sizes are tiny.. I don't even think that the 17" could fit on the desks we have there... I honestly wish i got the NP5125 so i would have a smaller computer.. Ughh wish i could have tested out sager laptops before i ordered but its kind of impossible to do that..
Not to mention.. I don't know if its the screen size or what but the battery seemed to last like literally an hour and a half with JUST firefox open and screen brightness lowered towards the lowest setting.. I'm really not liking this ughh
In addition.. There is kind of a almost crack like appearance towards the center of the screen.. although pretty small, I thought it was maybe a few stuck pixels but it is actually a little like scratch behind the screen somehow?.. just kind of bugging me.
Oh.. and this is by FAR the MOST irritating and the left click button has to be pushed down really hard in order to not randomly unclick when dragging text or a file or anything... maybe it'll fix itself after a little bit of use? Maybe? We'll see i guess.
AND! the fan has been making a really loud grinding noise because it is scraping on the metal casing that is around the fan to add ontop of all of this.. I honestly don't know what I'm supposed to do unless xotic PC sends me a replacement because the noise it to the level where I was embarrassed to show my mom my laptop when she asked to see it because the fan noise was so loud.. No way i could possibly bring it to class and type with it because its distracting.. its just THAT LOUD OF A GRINDING NOISE!
I guess ill give it a few more days seeing as this is the first hour or so iv been able to try it out so maybe things will fix themselves? I don't know
ALL I KNOW is the left click is a HUGE problem as well as the Fan.. The fan can be fixed VIA OEM fan replacement (obviously easy to install) and the left click may just fix itself? from a little bit of use? maybe? hopefully? Anyone else have any of the above problems but mainly the built in mouse problem?

I'm thinking of buying the 7110. Definitely would want a 17 inch screen, as I want 1920 across to make 2 windows side by side usable. Don't know if the 5125 offers 1920 across, but even if it did, text would be too smallish. Also waiting for the bigger battery. Anyway, would like to hear from others who have bought the 7110. -
49ºC at iddle? What is region temperature, specially, your room?
-
I'm at 43~45 idle with ambient temperatre about 28-29.
Using 258.96 btw -

Effective with the latest price update Sager started providing, as a promotion, the larger 62.16WH battery stock on the NP5125 and the unit went up $10 in price. (Same with the NP7110)

Hmm, well the only difference is the Sager NP7110 went up $20...SWEET deal though
-
flip4life, it sounds like your laptop was damaged in shipping! cracked screen, something hitting the fan making a grinding noise, and you're gonna live with it? get a replacement.
I'm glad I did order the NP5125, because I am going to school as well.
For $1004 flat, I got the 1920x1080 screen, battery upgrade, intel 6300, ic diamond, 4gb ram, 500gb 7200rpm hdd, i5 450, carrying case, and 3 year warranty. I'm excited.
I just returned an ASUS ROG 15 inch for $1300 after rebate because it's battery life was too short. Though, it did have an i7 720QM, 6gb ram, and a 360m, 1920x1080, and 2 year warranty/1 year accidental damage warranty. It's also a pretty sweet deal, but I sacrificed features and power for battery life. I figured the smarter investment was into something I can actually use as a laptop.
Ordered mine yesterday. When it gets here, I'll post my opinions. I think I'll be happy with the laptop. -
Mine is coming in today!!!!! I'm so excited! I have a high resolution camera so I'll take some pics after I get windows 7 on it!
-
I wonder how Razer orochi will work with this. Is bluetooth mice any good for connection ?
-
got my NP5125 a few hours ago, and going thru the process of installing all the newest drivers so far im loving this laptop, no problems whatsoever, screen is nice, everything is great
sagers servers seem to be a bit slow, downloading the drivers is taking forever -
my goodness, I thought you guys were exagerating, but trying to get something off of sager server is like dial-up in the 90's.
34mb video camera driver takes 1hr20min to download, lol
Edit.....What resolution should I run 3d mark on ? -
-
well, I'm unhappy now, found stuck pixel blue one in middle of screen
-
get the drivers from the original manufactrers websites... (cetainly the intel one...)
-
im having an issue with the webcam, when i press the webcam installer, it just says no camera device, anyone have any ideas?
edit, i turned on the webcam now, and i has to install that chicony cam, but what is bison cam which is also in that some folder or webcam drivers provided by Sager? -
I'm havin the same problem, how di you turn the camera on ?

Honestly, would jumping from a 17.4" screen to a 15.6" screen make any difference in the battery life or effect the performance much or not really?
It just seems too overwhelming to send back the computer because of the scrape in the screen.. it is small and mainly only visible on darker colors, on white, being a scratch, it just looks kind of well like a scratched screen so like glossy but not very noticeable? ughh it just seems like so much work to send back or anything.. anyone have any suggestions? xotic PC is willing to ship me a new fan well obviously seeing as how bad it was damaged and i can install it myself and as for the little scratch that is very noticeable on dark colors ESPECIALLY black but really not noticeable much at all on lighter colors.. is it even worth it to do something about it besides getting over it?
Thanks for any suggestions, greatly appreciated for any answers or opinions to any questions.
Plus, is there much of a difference between a 15.6
and a 17.4" having say firefox open in half of the screen and word open in the other half when doing research papers and such for college? I mean i do it a lot on my 22" widescreen at home all the time and almost see it essential for writing papers so sadly that may make me want to just keep the 7110 over looking into something with the NP5125.
PS. let me just add that the webcam is the crappiest POS that i have ever used.. like it is literally not even a webcam.. imagine taking a picture on your phone and by the time it loads to take another picture and the frame changes a bit because of the loading time in between... its like that (literally not even usable) for any suggestions or other views on the webcam would be appreciated too.. just don't see why they cut such a stupid corner with the cheap webcam which isnt that expensive to have a better one built in seeing as we are paying more then a grand on this computer.. -
wow, that camera is garbage, waste of space and waste of additional $$$ for it. I can't believe they put crap like that these days, I thought we're much more advanced than that. It's basically unusable
-
i have a question, mainly for Justin, but when ordering the NP5125 from XoticPC the RAM is listed as 1066mhz yet those 2 screenshots of the RAM i took with CPUZ, particularly the 2nd one says the max is only 667mhz, any comment on what thats about?
and what the hell manufacturer is "Transcend Information"? never even heard of that company and RAM... if im reading that right at least...
-
Also when looking at a screen from an angle, leaning left, I can see white light on right side of screen, I have to lean to the side to see it, but I don't have to lean much.
It's like white light is shining through, from the top to bottom of screen. Is this normal for these kind of monitors ? For some reason it's only right side of the screen.
I got the screen set to Solid black, cuz I'm running UndeadPixel to get rid of stuck pixel. -
-
Here's what I'm talking about, white light shining through only on right side when slightly leaning to the left.
Is this normal ?
-
Mine does the same thing. That's normal I have seen lots of laptops like that. -
-
Donald@Paladin44 Retired
Do the same math. 667x2=1033
-
CPU can only support 1066
So the math is 533x2 1066 GHZ and 667x2 1333 GHZ
Don't worry about it, its fine. -
Well I thought you meant this
in the red circles. -
oh, so back to my question on the panel light shining through, do you guys have this aswell ?
-
i havent really gone to a 90 degree angle to look at it, but i dont notice anything from using the laptop normally and thx for the clarification everyone.
-
In fact, my stuck pixel position probably the same as yours. It's on the middle, slightly at the bottom of the center of the screen
Anyone able to get hardware monitoring button in rivatuner?
Please let me know. -
My stuck pixel is slightly to the bottom and to the right off the middle.
I wonder if anyone out of those ppl got the pixel unstuck..... -
Seems like NP7110 owners are posting here under the 5125. Could we separate these 2? I'd like to propose that 7110 owners start posting under the 7110's lounge, as it is often confusing reading threads from people and not knowing which unit they're writing about. thanks, just a suggestion.
-
I ordered mine a few days ago but all these recent posts are scaring me
-
How are your real world battery times? -
Just tried Starcraft II with 1080 resolution on the new sager video driver, high settings with 3ppl vs 3 ai and I got around 35 average fps, game was pretty smooth, but there was no 200 rush
The temps I got were 86c screen, 87c cpu, 84gpu, this laptop cools down really fast after turning off program/game. -
-
-
even though I'm not happy with my model I would still recommend it
I got stuck pixel, there's no way around, there will always be few unlucky users in any laptop in the world, The camera sucks, oh well, it's a budget laptop capable of gaming with great screen, they had to cut corners somewhere.
Other than that it looks sleek, screen is , you can game on it and it's probably great in more areas I haven't even experienced yet. -
yes, the screen is very nice, even the default HD one is quite nice (which is what i chose) and i agree that the webcam is complete crap, then again i will rarely if ever use it so no problem really.
-
Here's my attempt at 3dmark, I'm unfamiliar with how to run this program or what to look for, so here's the basic.
3dmark06 1600x900
3dmark06 1920x1080
3dmark vantage 1600x900
3dmark vantage 1920x1080
-
one thing id like to know, is there a dedicated way to disable the trackpad while im using a mouse or something?
-
Weird... For I would expect 1600x900 can put down the number lower to 5.6k-5.7k range. I did 1280x1024 and ended up at 5.9k ish most of the time. I'm using 258.96 driver. What driver version you use? Did you overclock it ? -
Would it be possible to transplant the webcam from my old laptop to the Sager? I imagine they probably both run on the USB bus. I have good soldering experience, and my last laptop's webcam was considerably better than what I'm hearing about the Sager's. Would it work?
-
-
That would be a better-than-expected score.
-
I shall download the driver from SAGER now
Oh btw, did any of you found there's quite a "miss area" on right shift and space bar? Like when you press the key with soft press on the edge, it doesn't register the input until you come closer to the center of the key. -
How crappy is the crappy webcam? Even worse than usual laptop webcams?
-
It's crappy as in you can't get good fps from it. idk if there's a way to trim down the resolution so you can get better sampling rate.
BTW, I downloaded the driver, but still only got 6k ish on 1280x1024. Can you post yours on 1280x1024, Sumik ?
