I got 2 pairs of B&O A8 and ultimate ear super.fi 5 pro earphones here, normal soundcards won't match them.

So you would consider $200 priced card a normal soundcard? Could you give a link for which soundcard you would prefer for yourself? Thanks!

My concern is with all the bloatware you have to install. Are people generally people with the software that has to be installed with the card?

Are you serious? Just install the driver for the card, and that's it.
You don't need creative media source and what not.
I just installed the driver and that's it. Granted, mine was not express, but USB, but Creative nonetheless.

What's with the attitude? Lots of people have had problems with Creative, their drivers and their software. See, e.g.

    http://www.theinquirer.net/gb/inquirer/news/2008/03/29/creative-driver-debacle

    http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=182389

After numerous problems with their soundcards, I promised a long time ago to never buy a Creative product again. But, if they have improved things and people like it, then I might give it a go.

i like creative...... only problem i have had before is with the volume dial on a satelite speaker system. after a while, for some reason if i even slightly touched the desk that the dial was on, the volume would jump ALL over the place for about 15secs

What I meant is that Creative makes awesome products.
Heck, I had VIsta 64 before and they had drivers for the card, so now it's only getting better.
Trust me, it will work without problems, unless you're using x64, and even then, there's nothing really to be worried about.
Heck, I had problems with a lot of things, that don't mean people stopped buying such peripherals.

Once you get it installed and pumping, you'll know what I mean ;)

Ooooo I just noticed that there's a 3DMark06 benchmark competition in this thread :)

As I'm all proud of my shiny newly OC'd processor:

10620 3DMarks: T9300, OC'd to 2.9ghz and undervolted to 1.1000v, 8800M GTX (stock), 175.70 drivers, XP Pro SP3. Under load, hitting a max of 54c CPU core and 69c GPU.

Can't wait to get to OC'ing the 8800M GTX to see how much further I can go, lots of room for improvement!

    Just to let you know:

I returned my M570RU-U to my reseller for a refund.

Reason: since Oct. 2007 I had three notebooks with dead pixels, and the fourth one, delivered last week, did not include Windows (what I paid for). I decided I had enough and cancelled it all. Not the best reseller..

So I haven't had the chance to enjoy my M570RU-U and all in all it has cost me quite a bit for shipping it back all the time.

Now it's waiting for the M570TU. I'll also going to order from a different reseller. Probably XXODD, since they are located here in the Netherlands.

I'm sorry to hear that, but with the shipping costs and all, you could've bought yourself another screen separately :)

Shipping costs were around €60 (~$100). Don't think I could have bought a screen for that amount.

But still, it's a shame, losing money on "nothing".

Hope the M570TU will be available soon. Maybe I'll buy a MSI Wind till it arrives :p

The TU will be available around mid July, if that's your concern.
A secondary laptop, like the Wind would be nice too :)

Yeah, the Wind will really come in handy. It's going to be hard not to buy it :p

But is there a bit more certainty about the mid july availability of the M570TU? All I read is about the M860TU, but I need a big screen.

I "had" it since Oct. 2007. BUT:

I was never able to use the laptop for what I bought it for: to take it with me to the university. I had to leave all the protective foil on, because all the notebooks I received all had pixel-defects and the last one was incomplete.

Also I had to wait very long to exchange the notebook the last time (over 5 months) and you can imagine how I felt when I found out the shipment was incomplete...

Dutch law is very very clear about these kind of issues, so my reseller actually didn't have that much of a choice but to give me a full refund. That's the story in short.

ralphfx, I hope you will notice that the people posting on this forum are able to express themselves without using offensive language. I am sure you can too with just a little effort.

Please edit your posts (particularly 677 & 679) to conform to the civility that you witness from others here on the forum.

The launch of the M570TU will coincide with the launch of the M860TU which at this point is scheduled for July 15th...however as we know launch dates can move. Please check with your local vendor for their scheduled launch date.

There are a few resellers here in Holland that have the Wind listed. However, the delivery date is pushed back to the end of June. I'll look some resellers up for you.

    There is:

Sager-Midern Computers, Inc. is the full name of the company.

For branding they only use Sager.

Is it true that the M570RU has interchangeable video cards? I.e. you can manually put a new video card in?

Yes, you can switch out the videocard for another MXM-IV card... there are only a handful at the moment:
    - 7950GTX
    - 8700M GT
    - 8800M GTX
    - Quadro 1600M

I wonder, isn't MXM backwards compatible too? meaning, would it fit smaller cards? cause the ATI thing is suposedly an MXM III.

And the 8700M GT is also MXM III, so I guess I answered my question
