Ok i have a benchmark... and a heat test...

3dmark2006: 9127 (used the free version) -> i want to know if its a normal score for stock driver/no OC

"Heat test" after 22min with ortos and atitool stress test:
    RMmark:64c-65c
    ATItool:74c-75c

So i would like to know if its too high or not, i tried to undervolt with no great sucess.

I would like a heat test from a Xotic buyer, to see if theres a real difference between the thermal compound.

    I have a slight problem:

I was listening to music, and was tweaking the Realtek setting as Gophn Suggested, then all of a sudden a error message appeared in WM11 and now sound is not coming. I am thinking its driver issue, so ill reinstall the audio drivers. BUt do I have to install every time I tweak Realtek Audio?

I do not think that you should have to re-install drivers... it could just be codec issues or other software issues with WMP....

Most people use WinAMP for their music listening pleasures... and it sounds great with Realtek tweaked settings. ;)

If you really want to use WMP... then I would recommend to get a good codec pack and all the updates for it (to make sure it would not have errors).

    new favorite thread!
so far im very happy with my np5792 - probably wont have time to write a full review, but everything from the screen (glossy) to the graphics (8800m) to vista 64 sp1 rc to the fantastic reseller i purchased from (XOTICPC) has been more than satisfactory! the speakers are sometimes not loud enough on quieter mp3s and videos, but i normally use headphones anyway. no problems!

Thanks naticus. Can you post you specs and drivers, and even better the temps?

Other subforums like dell and asus have a lounge for each model, and by putting issues up for question in the lounge, it helps get the forum clean, instead of a new thread for each issue. ALso, its nice for users to see all the info on a specific laptop in one thread, instead for searching a lot and so on.

Yeah I will do a 3dmark06 test again and use nVidia monitor to log the temps and I will post in a minute w/ score and temps. Just a side note, I just got to the "onslaught" level in Crysis (its the level you drive the tank), the game is pretty much unplayable for any res or setting. Im getting 8FPS and I cant play it, so I am going to have to download some save games to pass this section. Just thought I wouold let you know.

Ok AN update, I have done some investigating, and I found that the begging of the game (crysis) is optimized about 35% better, the further into the game you get and the choppiness increases. Thats my poblem right now at 1280x800 all HIGH. I mean before this tank-driving-slideshow level I was getting 18-25 fps outside, 30-45 inside. So I guess all users are having this problem. I got the info from the 8800 ultra gamespot forums. I guess I will have to find some same games to skip this tank section as it is un-F*****playable. The rest of the game is fine though. Oh well.

Nice Job Hkman! Repped 4 the nice layouts and efforts! :)

I do have a suggestion though:

Maybe you can add a section explaining the names of the Sagers, im sure people get confused bw the np 5790/1/2/3.

Once again, great job and i hope this thread is succesful :D

It is Tinker Toy easy. As long as you have at least a Learner's Permit with a screwdriver you can add memory, and it will not void your warranty.

Just make sure you buy 1x2GB originally so that all you have to do is add another 2GB piece to get 4GB.

    All right...for some reason I scored a nasty 5919 on my 3dMark06.
I ran 3DMark06 on all default settings.

    My specs are
17" WUXGA "Glare Type" Super Clear Ultra Bright Glossy Screen (1920x1200)
    Intel® Core™2 Duo X7800 2.6GHz w/4MB L2 On-die cache - 800MHz FSB
    512MB PCI-Express nVidia GeForce 8800GTX DX10 (User Upgradeable)
    4,096MB OCZ DDR2 667 PC2 5300 (2 SODIMMS) Dual Channel Memory
    200GB Hitachi 7200RPM.
Windows XP Professional 32bit Service Pack 3

I'm using the driver that was in the driver CD.

    Time to look into this...

Edit:I may have hit the jackpot with the LaptopVideo2Go drivers. The drivers that came with my CD was 167.40, the one at LaptopVideo2Go is 167.43, I'll run the test and see what I get.

Cool site, but could you add in a small corner for the Linux community? I know that I am one of a few people that run Linux as their main (or only) OS, and would like to see maybe a little support on it. I would be more than happy to help out as much as I can (as I am in Iraq right now) on threads and questions regarding different distros.

Please, tell me what you think of the idea!

Do you have the AGN? All I did was click reinstall drivers in the device manager and made it grab the drivers off the driver cd to get mine to work. Anyways, doesn't look like the stabability test creates much heat.

I see, usually a router reboot lets me back into the network.

Anyways, I was stupid before, I thought I switched my X7800 with my T7250 but my X7800 was in there the whole time which explains the 90+ degrees. Now my temperature with the T7250 tops out at 70. Looks like it's time to get rid of the X7800.

Is this when gamin or idle? ANother question, is CPU temp the combined total of both cores or the average?

This is when the processor is full loading, in other words, going all out. And the CPU temp, I usually would just say the highest temp core.

For benchamarks, Wprime and 3dmark are usually the best

I really don't recommend the new 169.28 as they seem to cut the performance in half for the 8800.
