Looks like a great template for an owners lounge, this could be turned into an FAQ if you want. Just PM me and let me know.
Thanks for taking the time to do all this. -
Ok i have a benchmark... and a heat test...
3dmark2006: 9127 (used the free version) -> i want to know if its a normal score for stock driver/no OC
"Heat test" after 22min with ortos and atitool stress test:
RMmark:64c-65c
ATItool:74c-75c
So i would like to know if its too high or not, i tried to undervolt with no great sucess.
I would like a heat test from a Xotic buyer, to see if theres a real difference between the thermal compound. -
What drivers are you using MegaBud?
-
-
I have a slight problem:
I was listening to music, and was tweaking the Realtek setting as Gophn Suggested, then all of a sudden a error message appeared in WM11 and now sound is not coming. I am thinking its driver issue, so ill reinstall the audio drivers. BUt do I have to install every time I tweak Realtek Audio? -
I do not think that you should have to re-install drivers... it could just be codec issues or other software issues with WMP....
Most people use WinAMP for their music listening pleasures... and it sounds great with Realtek tweaked settings.
If you really want to use WMP... then I would recommend to get a good codec pack and all the updates for it (to make sure it would not have errors). -
Wow Hkman this is a nice thread. I can see this lounge will be very useful indeed in the future! Nice Job!
-
new favorite thread!
so far im very happy with my np5792 - probably wont have time to write a full review, but everything from the screen (glossy) to the graphics (8800m) to vista 64 sp1 rc to the fantastic reseller i purchased from (XOTICPC) has been more than satisfactory! the speakers are sometimes not loud enough on quieter mp3s and videos, but i normally use headphones anyway. no problems! -
Thanks Everyone!!
@ Gophn, I personally dont like WMP, but i did not have time be install Winamp yet, will do so soon -
Well, I have a new thread to stay in..
As soon as I get that new 5792 in my sig, I'll have another review for this thread. -
HKman, I have had 3dmark06 scores : my highest was 9105, middle 8656, low 8430.
I have some stuff here you could check out:
http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=205624&page=2
for crysis : this thread is full of pics @ different settingsa all using FRAPS
http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=206290
hope this helps the lounge! -
Thanks naticus. Can you post you specs and drivers, and even better the temps?
Other subforums like dell and asus have a lounge for each model, and by putting issues up for question in the lounge, it helps get the forum clean, instead of a new thread for each issue. ALso, its nice for users to see all the info on a specific laptop in one thread, instead for searching a lot and so on. -
Theres... new bench with picture... i found a 3dmark06 at work...

Nice Job Hkman! Repped 4 the nice layouts and efforts!
I do have a suggestion though:
Maybe you can add a section explaining the names of the Sagers, im sure people get confused bw the np 5790/1/2/3.
Once again, great job and i hope this thread is succesful -
I just wanted to know how hard is it to upgrade the ram in the 5792 cause I wanted to upgrade later on from 2 gigs to 4 gigs.
-
Donald@Paladin44 Retired
Just make sure you buy 1x2GB originally so that all you have to do is add another 2GB piece to get 4GB. -
Hey naticus, you got the 1440x900 display right? Does your lcd have a lot of light leakage from the bottom? I'm trying to figure out if this is normal. If it is then im really pissed. What a crappy lcd.
Heres a pic of my np5792

compared to my old notebook a fujitsu n6460
http://img178.imageshack.us/my.php?image=fujitsuxt7.jpg -
You should add "Worst reseller for now" with eurocom with 3 bad LCD
-
Megabud, everyonce in a while those things happen, it does not mean the company as a whole is bad, no laptop is 100% perfect...
-
All right...for some reason I scored a nasty 5919 on my 3dMark06.
I ran 3DMark06 on all default settings.
My specs are
17" WUXGA "Glare Type" Super Clear Ultra Bright Glossy Screen (1920x1200)
Intel® Core™2 Duo X7800 2.6GHz w/4MB L2 On-die cache - 800MHz FSB
512MB PCI-Express nVidia GeForce 8800GTX DX10 (User Upgradeable)
4,096MB OCZ DDR2 667 PC2 5300 (2 SODIMMS) Dual Channel Memory
200GB Hitachi 7200RPM.
Windows XP Professional 32bit Service Pack 3
I'm using the driver that was in the driver CD.
Time to look into this... -
-
maybe urs was set to a powersaving settings? not sure how to change that but im sure others know how to get to it.
-
I turned the Powermizer off in the nVidia Control Panel or whatever. I also see that my processor is running full speed, I scored a 2314 on CPU.
Edit:I may have hit the jackpot with the LaptopVideo2Go drivers. The drivers that came with my CD was 167.40, the one at LaptopVideo2Go is 167.43, I'll run the test and see what I get. -
Yeap problem solved. Heres my score.
http://cpxazn.freepgs.com/sites/NP57923DMark.bmp -
^ I have a little lcd bleeding,, but it doesnt look as bad as your pic. OTH that is a nice 3dmark score. I'm going to put a better cpu in here in a month or 3, increase those BM.
-
Cool site, but could you add in a small corner for the Linux community? I know that I am one of a few people that run Linux as their main (or only) OS, and would like to see maybe a little support on it. I would be more than happy to help out as much as I can (as I am in Iraq right now) on threads and questions regarding different distros.
Please, tell me what you think of the idea!

/* Property of the US Army (at least for a few more years) */ -
Ok, THanks everyone 4 the scores, Ill try to get them up as soon as possible
-
-
hmm, i tried to do some bm w/ wprime, but the download is wrong i think, because when i open it say :unexpected error" or something. My os is Vista 32. Anyone know the problem?
-
for wPrime with Vista, read my notes:
http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=123570 -
One question, does the NP5792 come with manuals on how to upgrade parts or show where they are, and will you please tell me where I can find a site that does or shows benchmarks.
-
What parts are you thinking to upgrade? have you looked at the owners manual?
-
Hey hkman, did you ever get wprime working? What cpu temps are you getting? I switched back to my T7250 and im hitting 90+ degrees celsius with the prime95 blend test and it's the same with my X7800. I'll see what I get with wprime with stabability test.
-
woah you have 2cpus?
and no, i have not yet, still trying 2 get wlan working... -
Do you have the AGN? All I did was click reinstall drivers in the device manager and made it grab the drivers off the driver cd to get mine to work. Anyways, doesn't look like the stabability test creates much heat.
-
Yeah, I have AGN, but its a router problem/
-
I see, usually a router reboot lets me back into the network.
Anyways, I was stupid before, I thought I switched my X7800 with my T7250 but my X7800 was in there the whole time which explains the 90+ degrees. Now my temperature with the T7250 tops out at 70. Looks like it's time to get rid of the X7800. -
Is this when gamin or idle? ANother question, is CPU temp the combined total of both cores or the average?
-
This is when the processor is full loading, in other words, going all out. And the CPU temp, I usually would just say the highest temp core.
-
Does anyone know where I can find some good benchmarks
and post some pics of where exactly the memory is in a Sager NP5792 -
-
For benchamarks, Wprime and 3dmark are usually the best
-
I really don't recommend the new 169.28 as they seem to cut the performance in half for the 8800.
Stock 167.43:
New 169.28:
Uninstalled & used Driver Cleaner for each bench -
Nice thanks
ALSO WHAT ABOUT THE CPU AND HARD DRIVE, COULD YOU LABEL THOSE TWO/TOO.
