Hey everyone! I just registered here since I've thinking about buying a Clevo laptop for quite a while now, but I'd like to try and buy straight from Clevo to save some $. Does anyone know a sales representative I can talk to about this?

I'm thinking getting the Clevo W320SS, W355SSQ, W370SS, P157SM-A, or P177SM-A. Still cant decide between them. Can you guys tell me your experience with any of these laptops as well as their battery life, stock and undervolted, if possible as well? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Don't know if you can purchase directly from them, I know for sure I've never seen a Clevo rep on here. But there are many Clevo/Sager resellers who frequent this forum and are happy to help answer any questions.

To help decide which computer is best for you, what do you plan on doing with the computer.

Clevo don't deal with customers directly, no.

Sorry for the late replies guys. I set the site to email immediately, but havent gotten a single email?

This will be a college laptop and mild to heavy gaming. I don't think I need anymore than an 860M, unless the 870M can be found for cheap and uses only a little more power, but I do need battery life.

It sucks that you can't order directly from Clevo. I saw a couple factory options that I wanted, but neither Sager or Xotic carry those options.

EDIT: I see now, the site doesn't automatically subscribe you to threads you create. :p

Some Clevo options are "Factory Options" that Sager doesnt opt for. Was there something in particular, we may know of an alternate to it.

Well I was mostly interested in the UMTS/HSPA+ and the fingerprint reader. (Don't know if all Sagers have the reader though)

The main reason to buy from Clevo directly was to get a possibly cheaper price.

Most sager machines have finger print readers, but of course feel free to check from the reseller.

Out of the 5 models you listed Sager offers 3 of them. The W370SS (NP7378), P157SM-A (NP8258), and P177SM-A (NP8298) which the last two come with fingerprint readers. The first two you listed aren't offer by Sager so cant say for sure if it will come with the fingerprint reader.

I might just sacrifice the options and get the 7378 for the battery life. 6-7 hours non-gaming sounds nice to me.

Yah great for battery life, ok for gaming. It does benefit from the 860M in it using the new Maxwell architecture.

Do you think the P177SM-A can achieve close to or similar battery life if undervolted enough? If it can, then the 860M won't be a problem. I'd just overclock the hell out of it to get as close to 870M levels as I could.

Hoenstly I wouldn't base your choice over how much you can undervolt or over clock as you can always do the same to another machine. Unless you really like to get into tweaking with those number. I'd go off the base specs of which will serve your used the best.

Undervolting won't impact low level/idle battery numbers really.

What were you planning to undervolt? The Gpu? That's already consuming barely any power on idle, and I highly doubt you will play games if you are trying to maximize your battery life.

I would guess CPU as the GPU is as close to being off as possible when idle lol.

    Yeah, the CPU haha. :p

I have my 4700MQ @ -75mV right now and it runs almost flawlessly. I'm almost positive my random crashes are from the operating system. Windows 8 is a lot touchier about stability than 8.1.

Why use 8 over 8.1 then?

It's just a hassle to upgrade.
