ATM I believe this is true. No new BIOS that supports OCing. Other tools are available or so I've read.

    New KBC/EC guys:

    1. EC firmware 1.00.05.
    2. Solve "sometimes touchpad can't work after system resumes from standby mode" issue.

    get your fix here

As usual, extract onto a botable usb stick, boot into dos and type "update" (without quotes)

well i know in the UK that supplies are still pretty scarce, I know that Kobalt only got enough chassis to complete pre-orders

So I know that they will become more available, but we are all just awaiting our machines at the moment :)

Still got an eta of this friday (with a following wind)

What backpack does everyone get with M980NU? I was told that it won't fit Targus XL... OMG, how much does it weigh?

Also, how is the screen quality, how their screens are in comparison to M17x's screens?

According to notebookcheck.com's updated review for m980nu, it's a Samsung screen (reputation for grainy lcds) and it's not too bright and too reflective in all lighting conditions.

    Display

In our test model from Cyber System there was an 18.4-inch Full-HD (1920x1080 pixels) display from Samsung (184HT03-001). Thanks to the high resolution the large panel pleasantly offers a lot of space to work with.

The biggest weakness of the panel in our test laptop was the measured average brightness of only 147 cd/m². Along with the strongly reflecting glass panel this leads to interfering reflections in almost all lighting conditions. For example playing GTA 4 during the day was almost impossible (indoors!). Our preview sample even had an average of 180cd/m², although with a differing panel from CMO - CMO1800, N184H4-L01.

The illumination of 74% isn't especially good due to the strong brightness wastage towards the corners. However the low black values and the good contrast achieved from it are positive.

Reflective screens have been around a while but it seems the trend is getting more reflective and not less.

hehe it s a good choice

i must admit that i have been going round in circles as to which cpu to use, i have elected to order a cheap one and save the cash by buying an ES chip.

Much better way of doing it imo and the chips are very easy to change out

Put the extra cash into a SSD

But all in all for gaming this is the best choice

Agreed - Cheaper CPU for now - then buy ES or OEM when prices are lower or when I need it which won't be for sometime (year or so maybe longer).

I'd also say wait on the Soundblaster but again that's more up to you and if it's desktop replacement or mobile, and your current sound setup.

The only reason I was gunna get the sound blaster thingy is because I heard that they don't make those anymore and I needed something along those lines to support my new 5.1 headphones that I am getting. Is there something better?
