Since I have several reviews out on Sager notebooks I thought I'd consolidate them here because the signature is quite restricting as far as number of characters allowed, so will just point them here. And if you're here through my sig link, thanks for looking! :)

Please contain discussion to each individual review thread please, I'd like to keep posts in this thread to a minimum. Thank you.

Just a note, when talking about the "PSUs" you describe connecting both "GPUs" to the y bracket ;)

    Otherwise very detailed :)

HTWingNut, I have a question concerning battery life on the 9390. Let's say I want to do normal processes on the 9390 such as typing up some notes in class on Microsoft Word. Since SLI doesn't support Optimus technology, is there a way to manually switch from the dual SLI 780M's to the built-in graphics processor of the 4th gen Haswell CPU?

No. That's what you sacrifice by not having Optimus.

Ok. Let's say a 9390 with a single 780M. That should support Optimus, shouldn't it?

No, it's the system that supports whether it's engaged or not, it's hardware and software. This system does not support Optimus, the display is wired directly to the dedicated video card and completely bypasses the Intel GPU.

    Excellent review. Thank you.

    I think I'll be happy with this laptop. My last scored 7800~ in 3DMark 11 (4930MX & 780M). A score of 12100+ is a great improvement!

My only gripe is battery life, but the enthusiast in me doesn't want to care.

Top notch reviews and everything is so well organized as usual. It's been a while since I've been able to checkout the reviews and the 980M is looking very nice scoring 12,1++ on 3D Mark11.

Thanks. A lot of links and stuff got lost when they transitioned the forum to whatever it is they did... I'll have to spend time one day and fix it all. I thought they were supposed to fix image=xxx tags and html inline link tags to not be shown, but apparently not.

I concur. Not even 1 mhz, but..... You can up the resolution to 2560x1440@100hz to 120hz

It can be set to 75/85/100/110/120@1080P

DSR is also an option through the Nvidia CP.

You can use DSR to over clock the lcd? I didn't know that.

Also this screen is locked at 60hz or 120hz

At native resolution will it underclock at 80hz-100hz, and will G-sync work at the lower refresh?

Will G-sync track a 100fps game on a 120hz screen, so no need to underclock?

I had DSR@33% and 60hz V-sync refresh, but it keeps crashing on GTAV.

I have seen a few games that crash or refuse to launch when a display is not run at the default refresh rate. Not sure why that happens. There may be more than the few I have seen because I normally just leave the display at defaults. While I seldom overclock a display, I have never under-clocked one. Why would anyone want to lower the refresh rate?

I narrowed it down to one of the settings in the advanced graphics. Refresh rates are good and so is the DSR.

In the NVIDIA Control Panel Advanced Settings? What setting was causing it to crash? Maybe that was what caused it for me in the past with some games when running a non-native refresh rate or resolution?

For me it's an ingame setting in the advanced graphics for gtav. When it set it to safe mode the game ran fine. So far i enabled all the settings in the normal graphics setting. Going to test the rest of it in a little while.
