So today I just thought of throwing HIDevolution another email to remind them if they got any news from CLEVO regarding the updated EC Firmware and within a few mins, I got an email with the new BIOS that has the updated EC Firmware! They made my day!

I don't think I am allowed to share this, I have asked one of the tech support people and they will ask the manager and get back to me but I'm not even sure if one should try this new BIOS on their system if it wasn't a barebone CLEVO system.

Anyway, I will need to do some testing later one to see how it goes as I just formatted today again after successfully installing Windows 7, finally figured out how to install it on the 950 PRO SSD and I will make a guide about this later, but man the boot time went up 40 secs I couldn't take it so I formatted again.

    Stupid question:
What did they change in this new EC/bios?

Well it's supposed to prevent the laptop from throttling the CPU which according to @Mr. Fox , he discovered that the throttling problem was due to the EC Firmware and not because of the high default CPU voltage.

Once I am done installing all my apps, I will test, what shall I use to test? I don't wanna install XTU, anything else that can show us if it really did fix the issue or not?

I remember when @GTVEVO did a test on my system the CPU clock would go down all the way to 3.6GHz at times when SLI is enabled.

This is the exact problem that occurs and is more visible with greater power consumption.

I have some other theory's too but I will only know once I have it installed and test.

because everytime I install XTU, after a while, even while doing nothing and the fans set to the auto profile, I start hearing them spin to full blast. No XTU, same usage, I never hear them

weird... must be something going on in the control center switching to intel xtu overclocking fan profile, tends to be very aggressive.

I think we figured out what happened, so no juicy story at this point. When the Prema Mod is ready it will be available through authorized channels and not before then. Not sure how it got to @Matrix Leader but it is not authorized for distribution by anyone. Fortunately, it did not brick his new Clevo. Mixing up different versions of EC/BIOS/ME firmware can end in disaster. Since it is not available for distribution and HIDEvolution is not authorized to distribute it, I am closing this thread.
