* Screen
The screen is GREAT. The screen viewing angles are amazing as you can see in the pictures. The screen itself is the BEST LED I have ever used. It beats the G73, Alienware M15x, and Dell inspiron 1545. The screen is VERY bright and perfectly fine for a classroom or outside on the bench. It is no RGB LED which I owned on the Alienware M17x R-2 but I think this one is better since it doesn't burn my retinas.

* Keyboard
I have owned a MacBook 13 inch and an Asus G73 and i have found chiclet keyboards to be nice but it varies greatly on the quality of the keyboard. I have to say this Clevo W870CU keyboard is sturdy and has no flex from typing. All the keys are responsive and perfectly spaced. I find myself never having to glance down to find a key because my finger slipped. The only thing that could make this keyboard better would be a backlight keyboard. Also a non-trucated number pad would be nice

touchpad
* Touch pad
I have owned MANY laptops in the past year and this touch-pad is nice and is near the top of my list. The touch-pad itself is slick, its smooth to the touch right out of the box. It's not like the touch-pads that are slick and your fingers stick and it takes 2 months to build up residue to help the process. Right out of the box with clean hands its ready to go which is a very nice touch. Its also very responsive, responding to the slightest touch.

Nice pictures. Good point about the keyboard. You can disable the touchpad with Fn + F1. Benchmarks look pretty low.

Its here

waiting patiently.

thanks for the pics, what do you think of the plastic case?
as i was thinking about getting a custom paint job on mine but wondering if i should knowing that it has a plastic case
have you have the NP9262? if so how does the back of the case compare to it? -
The ati is green.
Also if you can test the multipliers with evga and the 920. See how far it will go on all 4 cores. -
So being plain is both a pro and a con?

It's a preference thing- -
its plain which is nice but at the same time i like style and a few flair
-
How about some vinyl stickers. Maybe one of an Alien head and you can confuse the crap out of people.
-
updated a bit more -

thanks for the more pics, could i get a pic of the back of the screen without the plastic on it? is it dark/black? or a bit brighter - thinking of getting a custom lid design on it

The cards are only red if ATI makes them
They can be purple ... Its up to the card makers which color they will be -

So far the few games i have run are ALOT faster with the 920 then they were in the G73 so this has exceeded my expectations already ... Not sure what was going on with the 920 in the G73 i had though ....
My 920 is an ES btw but it was given to me FREE for helping someone out and i wanted to find a good machine to put it in, this seems to be it ... -
-
I didnt even look yet but i will in a bit... i was dumping all my stuff over to the secondary drive so i have the machine taken apart ATM.... Ill let ya know in a few...
-
None for me

is that a dent i see above the trackpad?
-
no that is the microphone
there is a little microphone there to indicate it ...kinda dumb -
ArmageddonAsh Mangekyo Sharingan
Ah okay i thought that it might have been, just wanted to check
what colour is the Back of the lid? is it a kind of dark that this pic would work well with HERE ? -
Great pics Moo.
This one looks like a keeper.
Scrolling ticker on top is awesome. -
The Black on the lid is a flat black. Its the same black as the palmrest and my MS Habu mouse
-
ArmageddonAsh Mangekyo Sharingan
is it a dark black colour? or more lighter?
-
dark
I posted temps please check them -

the GPU got quite hot, you worried by that?
what specs did you get? is it the 15 or 17inch model? -
17 inch, The GDDR5 RAM hit 90 but the Core was only at 70c
-
Yeah, did it really hit 90C?
That is too hot, IMO. I want to see temps during a long gaming sessions. -
73C on the GPU. Did you just run a benchmark? What is the idle temp?
-
The GDDR5 RUNS ALOT HOTTER THEN GDDR3.
All 5870's will be like this
idles in the 40's to low 50's -
Ok, well we have the same issue as the G73.
How do we know which temp is which out of the 3? -
maybe the:
ShaderIO is the Shader
MemIO is Memory
Thermal Diode is the core -
-
ArmageddonAsh Mangekyo Sharingan
Yeah that is VERY hot

Having had 2x RGBLED machines in the past (M6400's) and constantly laughing/servicing my boy's 1737 with RGBLED while WoW just tanks on the 3650 w/ a T9900 @ 1920x1200, it is overkill brightness wise and the off reds and constant icc profiles depending on applications was annoying.
Many pics/videos just looked unnatural to me and were situational depending on the numerous calibrations/icc's required, IMHO.
This thing looks beastly, but like I said, after the M17/Whitebook noise levels of death, I'm gun shy about the noise levels while gaming. -
And if what you say is true, then the diode is the temp that got to 90C right?
It mirrored my MemIO temps IIRC.
Stress again and report back with your findings. -
ArmageddonAsh Mangekyo Sharingan
i now have to rethink my decision again, i was planning on getting the 15inch
model but with temps like that the thing could melt, so its getting this and maybe causing a nuclear explosion or getting the slightly less powerful Envy but not create a Nuclear explosion -
People keep in mind that was firmark.
The sky is not falling
HWinfo reports the highest temps which is ALWAYS the GDDR5 like all you ignored once again the core only hit 72c
Ask Quadzilla -

Yeah its very quiet and the only fan i hear running albeit constantly is the GPU fan ..
Im very happy overall ...
