Good Morning All and hope you are well.

    I have a Clevo Sager P170HM i7 - A fab little Machine

I bought Star Wars BattleFront, and managed to play 5 minutes of it before the gfx card decided to go to Heaven.

Now, the weird thing is, i can still boot up in safe mode, or normal mode at a low resolution, but when trying to boot at a decent resolution, after the windows logo, i get a black screen - i am guessing the GPU has died.

I managed to get hold of a working NVIDIA GTX 860M MXM card.
Slotted this in place and fitted nice - now the laptop wont get past the SAGER logo screen, even pressing F2 or F7 does not do anything,

Do i need to update any BIOS or Firmware in order to get the card to boot ?

If i plugged dead card back in and got to safe mode - would it be worth installing the GTX drivers and then swapping cards again.

All advise would be very welcome and much appreciated.

    Kind Regards
    Quasar

The P170HM has a different MXM bios structure than standard so only certain cards will work the best being some 680M and 7970M cards though you do have to be a little careful regarding card revisions/vbios versions.
