Is there any technical difference between the Clevo TM-G and TM1-G versions of the P775? I can't seem to find any info on this.
Clevo website states TM-G only has 1060 6GB but that's doubtful, that they would pair a desktop SKU with a 1060 only. Visually they seem the same.

The only difference is the GPU.

So the cooling arrangement and LCD panels are identical?

The cooling yes, the LCD panels most likely are new generation ones from the time when TM-G came out.. Of course panels are revised for better internal components

Fair enough, last thing then - if I grab one with a 9900K, will it always be the TM1-G?

TM-G is a old model and discontinued. Yes it will be the TM1-G. You have a sticker under the laptop with the model number

Got it, I called the distributor but they couldn't tell me what LCD panel they use and what paste the 'TIM upgrade ' is so I won't bother I think. Too much of a gamble.

When I asked about the panel they use (brand etc.) they told me "LCD fullHD" so yeah, I was pretty much done at that point.
I think you guys are more clear in terms of options and upgrades (=more enthusiast oriented) while they just push these things with base specs.

I asked if they could sell me a barebone without storage and memory and they couldn't, however that decision I understand.

Panel supplies can change so people do tend to list it less. They just go with a base spec that any panel will be ordered to.

What is wrong with Full HD LCD? Iā€™d say if it is IPS and 144HZ you are good to go. I can install just about any panel I want in to my TM1-G so long as it is a 40pin

He means he expects more info like brand, colour gamuts, response times etc.
