    Hi everyone,

I'm wondering if anyone here knows where I could find a bottom case replacement for a reasonable price for a Clevo N850hp6.

It's quite an unfortunate story really. Basically, the laptop chassis was separating on one side when I opened and closed the laptop. I got the repair done at a reasonable price at a well reviewed repair shop in South Africa where I live. I then bought myself a 1tb Nvme SSD to put in the empty M2 slot. This is when I realised that the top and bottom covers are now stuck together where the repair was made. I took the laptop back into the shop today. They had a look and told me the repair was done in such a way that removing the base would break it, and thus I would need a base replacement if I wanted to open up the laptop to put in the SSD.

They were apologetic about not informing me the repair would prevent me from removing the back cover again, but of course I'm rather unhappy that I wasn't warned, especially now that I have already invested in a new SSD which is currently useless. They also said they would see if they could find a spare base anywhere, but even if they do I'm not sure they'll cover the cost. I'm feeling quite discouraged as from my own searching there seem to be barely any spare parts for the laptop online, and prices seem really high.

Hence I'm appealing to anyone here who might have a source of spare parts for the model. I'd also appreciate if someone could also clarify which models use the same base as the N850hp6, just so I can expand my search a bit. Any help would be much appreciated as I feel rather at a loss right now.

Have you contacted the original reseller?

I've sent them an email so I'll expect to hear from them some time in the week. So far the best I've found is from Rjtech for $55. There is no picture unfortunately but I think it would fit my laptop.

It would cost about a further $20 to ship to my uncle in New York, and then I would have to wait for him or someone else to bring the part this side of the world, as the shipping prices to me would be exorbitant. So not an ideal option but better than the $180 I've seen for just the cover elsewhere.

Also just got a quote of 71 euros including economy shipping to South Africa from NovaCustom. This seems like it could be the better option so far. Is anyone familiar with the company? They seem pretty good at first glance. Website: https://configurelaptop.eu/
