    Hi All,

I have just signed for the forum to ask of the questions that are in my mind about P770ZM. First of all, P770ZM has IPS screen or it just has TN panel? Also, I would like to ask about its BIOS. Does the P770ZM support UEFI, or EFI, BIOS or does it support just an old BIOS? Also, how is its cooling condition? If anybody uses P770ZM, could he tell me about the noise of fans when working with almost 100% and the heat of the P770ZM in heavy working conditions?

    Thanks

All the Sager resellers will have a IPS screen. I think all the other system builders do as well but I can't say for sure for those guys.

^^^^ yes and yes. The chassis started out with TN only and then the IPS became available. You should be able to tell from the product description or specification on the company website whether it's TN or IPS - usually if it says IPS it will be IPS, if it says nothing then it's probably TN.

If you google notebookcheck XMG U705 review they have a comprehensive report on system noise under the " System Noise" section!

It was the P570WM that had an older bios as the x79 was an older platform that had been in development for a long time. The P770ZM (and sager counter parts) are bang up to date.

Windows 8 should be quicker and less of a resource hog then 7 on most systems. If 7 is running better then there could be some issues with the 8 install, possibly drivers or Windows updates.

Could you elaborate on what performance you are comparing the two.

Exactly, I've not really seen that to be the case. Slight advantages one way or the other when benchmarking but that's about it.
