yes they updated this last night after my inquiry. but do you think is it easier to do myself or should I take the option of $129 because they are ok with me taking with orginal price of $99 for just Windows 8.1 with dvd back up. thanks

You'll have to buy a 4Gb-8GB USB stick, and download a 3GB file, and a small program called rufus.

Up to you to decide if that's worth $30 or not.

    Thanks Ramzay,

can you please help me decide which Display will be the best option.

these two are FHD display glossy is like $30 extra but not too worry about pricing or glossy or matte just want the best one for display for color contrast and viewing angles.

    This is Glossy: LP156WF4-SPU1

    This is Matte: AUO B156HAN01.2

Well, according to their spec sheets, the AUO has slightly better viewing angles and response times, while the LG is brighter.

In my review on the Clevo, I listed the colour-coverage of the AUO. You'd have to google and see if you can find somebody who measure the colour accuracy and coverage of the LG.

According to Eurocom, they're both 72% NTSC panels.

AUO: better viewing angles (slightly), faster response time, matte
    LG: brighter, glossy

The differences are not so huge that panel to panel variation would start to muddy the waters a bit with the specs.

I just placed the order , I decided to go with Matte AUO display. Now the waiting games began I really hope they can ship it by Friday. Any suggestion when I do get the laptop, what things should I check or run the test and install on it?

thank you for all ur help

3dmark while running gpu-z and xtu to monitor temperatures. If it looks good on a couple of runs in terms of scores you are set.

You'll need to buy the computer with a separate 3/4G/LTE-modem card for that sim card slot to work actually, the slot is in every computer but not every laptop has the card inside which is required.

For overclocking you'll need those Prema versions. Some mild oc might be possible without them but i think all in all it's best to use Prema bios for this.

If your machine listed 3/4g/LTE modem card in the specs when ordering then yes you can just put in a SIM. Check your order information.

    owh okay then.

how about this trick from htwingnut channel in youtube to uncover the SSD so can fit 2.5x9.5mm HDD with SSD. is that safe? will it become hotter or any performace decrease? and how about the life? will it die faster?

    thank you :D

You can fit a 9.5mm with a bare PCB SSD, you can't fit in 2x 9.5mm drives.

It's not a recommended configuration and like he says in the video, doing such a mod will be at your own risk. The worst case is the exposed circuitry is shorted at some point and the drive is damaged.

What kind of fan profile are you guys using to maximum the quietness and keeping the computer cool? I have the fan set at 75% speed and kicks in at 60C for CPU and it seems to work.

Just receive the laptop few hours ago. I just want to find out how can I verify that all the configuration of this laptop is same what I have requested in the order. Also is there a guide which I can follow to see how to do this 3d mark test while running gpuz and ztu?

The programs I listed give you a lot of system info, hwinfo is also pretty good, just run those two programs and look at the graphs afterwoods (make sure GPU-Z is on the monitor tab).

Why I cannot get the Custom Fan Speed to work on Control Center? I want to start the fan at 55C and stop at 45C and run it at 80% speed yet it does not work at all. Only the Maximum and Fn+1 works but it's always 100% which is too loud. I can feel the fan is slightly blowing out air but it's just too weak and doesn't seem like 80% speed at all and sort like just the automatic setting. Tried 3.20 and 5.0 but doesn't solve it. :(

Any ideas? Any other fan speed app controller that works on this notebook?

You need to flash your EC firmware to 1.03.10 in order to use the custom fan speed in Control Center. The custom fan speed seem to don't effect the fan curve. The laptop heats up quicker and custom fan speed just don't react fast enough, seems better to use when laptop is on battery and limit the cpu frequency.

Doesn't seem to work either. I really don't feel it's rotating at 80%. It's still like still automatic settings with it's own fan curve as I can hear it up and down but not constant speed.... sigh

Just one small detail about this laptop that will make some scratching their heads. GTX 970m doesn't support V-sync, support the newest technology G-sync, but is useless because the screen doesn't have G-sync module. These extras (if you know how to use it) provides really good gaming experience. I understand that screen with Gsync module will put another 100-200$ on top of what you pay
Let's see what you guys think about

It's a great laptop, you would just want to check the current edition of it to get skylake as haswell is outdated already (while it's still a solid processor). The new model is the Sager NP8657 (Clevo P650-RE3)

Anyone have an issue with keys on the keyboard "sticking"? What i mean is when playing a game that requires you to hold down W to move, when you let it go your character continues to move for 1-2 seconds. At first i thought it may be a software issue but it does the same thing if i test it in notepad in safemode. Should i look to buy a replacement keyboard?

Is the action still good on the key when that happens? Is it physically stuck or a firmware/software thing?

The action is fine. No different than the others. Nothing has ever been spilled on it. I tried reseating the ribbon and it didn't seem to help any. I have W bound on a mouse button and i have no issues with it. I've tried a USB keyboard with no issues as well. Also, my 1-yr warranty ran out about two weeks ago. :(

Hi, I'm new to this forum.
I'm considering p651RE6 or P651RE6-G - please give me some help in my choice. I plan to use it for next 3 years. My questions are:
    1. is it any difference between p651 and p650 other than appearance? (I like the minimalistic look of p651 but...)
    2. version with G-Sync takes ~100 EUR more - is it worth the money? (gtx970m version)
    3. Has anyone tried double sata3 configuration (SSD+HDD or 2xSSD - both 7mm)? - since both are packed in a small space - isn't it too hot for the drives ?

They are the same just some of the stylish differences.

I would say G-sync is worth it, it will help with screen tearing in game and give you a better look to your game.

While it may be a little hot in there, overall they are fine. I've seen plenty of configurations with 2 7mm SSD's in there and haven't heard of any heat issues with them.

You could really go either way with 7 or 10. If you don't have any programs that are only compatible with 7, then it becomes a bit of a personal preference.

More people might be comfortable with 7, though 10 is very similar. Some people would say they get better performance from 7, or that 10 has all of the data collection stuff from microsoft they don't like. But 10 is newer, will be supported longer, and has some more functionality to it that 7 doesn't. There is some reasons to maybe go with either.

I think the data collection issue has been exaggerated a little. Some articles were released about a lot of call homes by the router which turned out to be things like windows activation.

For future compatibility 10 is going to last longer and provide DX12.

Yeah, I'd agree with that. People still have concerns about it and ask about it, so maybe I was just playing the devils advocate there. But yes, absolutely right on DX12, thanks for pointing that out.

I've had my NP8651 for about a year now. I upgraded to Windows 10 around August and installed Win-10 chipset drivers, control center, etc. Anyway, I was wondering if it was normal behavior for my cpu fan to pretty much kick in to full blast during a background Windows Defender process or during a youtube video? If not, does anyone have any tips for how I can alleviate these fan issues? Thanks for any information.
