Thanks for the link, it was very helpful. I also downloaded the ICC file they provided and the colors got a bit better. While the yellow tinge is gone, the colors still look very washed out by the backlight and not nearly as vivid and crisp as my 8658. The link you shared mentions this being a drawback from using a 120hz TN panel instead of a 60hz IPS. I guess this comes down to gamer preference, but I think I'd rather game at 60fps with a nicer-looking display than at 120fps with a display that doesn't look as good.

Do you happen to know what type of panel is used for the 60hz IPS display option on the 8157? Thanks again for your help.

I'm in the process of overclocking the GTX 1070 on my NP-8157 (first time I try it). I'm currently at about +200 core and +500 memory, which is (so far) stable with 2,000 core mhz and 4,450 mhz of memory.

I'll need to do some more benchmarking to make sure it's stable. Does anyone with the NP-8157 have some OC specs (or guidelines) to share?

Try to keep questions to a single thread to avoid duplicating conversations.

I'm thinking of buying P650HS-G with 1070. I'm gonna use it with an external monitor but I'm also curious about temps. How are both inner and surface temps on this machine? Is WASD area gets really hot like a bit uncomfortable?

The parts you touch do not get hot.

Are you sure? Because I checked some images and it seems like CPU is DIRECTLY under the WASD area...

Never had issues of heat on this awesome model. Only parts that get warm is near the speakers on top: left and center right. (Cpu and gpu exhaust). I have a laptop cooler and I usually use max fans (fn+1) while playing with extereme graphics. Hope this helps.

The upper body of the laptop doesn't get hot at all. The WASD keys, mouse pad and the whole upper area is extremely cool even when CPU is in 80s.
Some people have seen high CPU and GPU temps (me included), but it doesn't seem to be a common issue. Overall this laptop is amazing and I am in love with it since I started using it.

Yup, my thermal images also confirm this - the midel of the keyboard around the J and L key are warmer than the WSAD area.

This is subjective as mine does tend to get warm and I am not hitting the 80’s at all.

Hi all. I've tried everything to keep my P650HS-G from crashing and then restarting (no BSOD or event in reliability monitor besides a "Windows Did Not Shut Down Properly"). My temps are fine so it's not that. The only thing that works is completely uninstalling the Clevo Control Center. I did this a few days ago and have had no crashes at all, while they used to happen daily.

Is there a big downside to this? I've been hitting FN+1 to go to max fan while gaming since I can't select the more aggressive OC fan profile in the CCC. Other than this is there anything I need to do? I'm new to this so I don't know if I'm overlooking something. Everything seems fine but I wonder if there's an issue with uninstalling the CCC that I'm not aware of. Any advice or input you have would really be appreciated.

The machine will function properly without it, it's just for features like lighting control.
