The only thing that harasses me in sager is I live in india... I think if for like the battery or the psu fails, I cant get it here.... internal parts are different thing... my main concern here is the batter , and the psu.... if anyway it is possible to ship these to india if they fail, I am all buckled up for the sager ride....

I don't see why you couldn't get the parts you need from the dealer that ships you the laptop?

PSUS are pretty easy to get hold of round the world. Batteries tend to be ok and you can run off the mains while waiting for one.

    Hi HTWingNut,

first of all thank you very much for your great work and effort for this review!

I'm quite interested in this laptop and so i would like to ask you about the fan noise. I guess there surely have been many questions before, but i would like to ask you if you could compare your P150SM's fan noise to this video a guy made to show the different fan levels:

What fan speed level do you get in very demanding games like Crysis 3, Far Cry 3, Metro LL ... comparing to the fan levels shown in the video? Does it even reach full blast like from 2:50 in the video or does it stay below that max fan speed?

I know, it's always not ideal to compare with a video, but i think the different fan levels can be clearly heard and should be recognizable on your device as well.

    Thanks in advance :)

Any chance you know of any models off hand that would work? I've heard mention the power brick for this thing is really a brick, and while I plan to use it for a desktop replacement I wouldn't mind having a second unit to charge the laptop while travelling.

For getting products to India I don't think it should be terribly difficult, just possibly expensive. I have things shipped from SE Asia all the time to Canada, and it's usually pretty cheap, if you're willing to wait for the slow boat to arrive.

Hey guys, just ordered a P150SM-A, and I was wondering, since I only got it with 8 GB of RAM, is it possible for me to add 8GB more of my own? Will there be compatibility issues. Also, with the normal screen (NOT 95% Gamut), is it "good enough" for everyday use? Thanks

Yes, there will be nothing preventing you from installing more RAM down the road, the only risk is if you damage the system in the process of installing it then your warranty won't cover it since it was user inflicted damage. Try to match the voltage, timings, and speed of the RAM by looking up the stick of RAM that comes installed in the system and reading its specs.

The default display is perfectly acceptable and many love it.

Not without modding, no. You can look though, you need a 5.5mm outer, 2.5mm inner barrel type connector.

That looks like a stock type brick in size. Likely won't be an official product from that site.

Keep to known brands of maker like delta electronics or FSP and make sure it's a genuine part and not a compatible replacement.

I have a version of this arriving in a few days. Any owners speak to overheating? Do you need a notebook cooler? Not looking for overclock but probably max load.

I recieved mined last week and I've not had any issue with. Running Windows 8.1 on it with 32GB of ram and a M550 from Corsair along with a 7200RPM drive. Only time I've really noticed any fan noise from it is when I had it put to close to my wifes knitting projects that blocked the outflow ports for the fans.

Honestly at this point my only complaint of any kind is the touchpad is very slow and when I plug a mouse is as I usually do other than when I take it on the balcony it's to fast so I'm trying to figure out how to run different speeds on them. So far I'm quite pleased with this. It has an 870m in it and while I haven't run BF4 or anything my SC2 and Civ5 games at 2560x1600 on my 30" monitor run quite well.

Not as big as you think once you're holding it. I thought I'd find it pretty bulky but it's really not.

I'll admit it's thicker than I expected but otherwise it's actually not bad. Derek was rather helpful with my questions when I first made the order.

Since this is a refresh model, does its speaker has improved? Is it comparable now to lenovo y510p's JBL speaker and MSI GT60's Dyna Audio?

Something I've noticed in all my games. There's a...ripple (for lack of a better term) that will occur in any game. At first I thought it was a form of screen tearing, because it has the same effect on my eyes, but I play with vsync in all the games I play so that shouldn't be occurring. It follows to an external monitor too, so it isn't the screen on the laptop itself. Seems to happen in the same conditions you'd get tearing (quick movement). It's distracting when it happens, but it can go a while without happening too. I'm debating sending it in. I have loaded a few different driver versions, has no effect.

I've had mine for a week. I'm really disappointed with the screen quality. Every seems very grainy and hard to read, despite the 1920x1080 resolution. The fingerprint reader took some playing around with to get working, and I still have an "Unknown Device" after installing all drivers.

nonetheless still a great device. I just really wish the screen wasn't so straining on the eyes.

Also is anyone else getting "There is no supported device available" with the soundcard?

Which panel did you get? Just the stock one? The exact model can change over time.

Hi guys, I've got one question about the keyboard on this laptop. I can't see the pictures on line so was wondering: Is there a space between the qwerty part of the keyboard and the numberpad? If not are the arrow keys at least separated so one can find them by feel? Thanks!

There is a little spacer for the numpad which you can use to find your way down to the arrow keys but side to side the arrow keys are spaced like normal keys except for the up arrow and the numpad (which is why if you follow the spacer down you get to the arrow keys).

Thanks. I did some configuration but the experience is still very faded. My other laptop, an HP from about 2 years ago, has a much crisper display.
