A little different from the normal Clevo's we've seen, with those elevated ridges on the back. Can't wait to see more on the specs to see what all this offers.

I haven't seen any official specs come my way, so I'm not sure at this point. Those specs just say USB 3.1 type C, so I'm guessing no. Usually if it has TB3, it would be stated that way. Time will tell though.

You mentioned this Clevo in my thread. According to one.de it will be available shortly. But it is not even listed on the Clevo page. Is Clevo a little slow with their updates?

And why should i wait for it, if there are no specs available yet? What is the improvement?

    Thanks!

We had a sample chassis over 2 months ago so I can confirm that it does have a USB Tpye-C combi port = Thunderbolt.

"Comming soon" might be a tiny bit optomistic - we will be offering this chassis, but it won' exactly be next week!

Would it be possible to swap the FHD panel for this new AUO QHD panel? Would it still have G-Sync support?

I believe support is on a white listed basis so it would need a BIOS that expects to be able to support that panel.

Who would do that BIOS update, Clevo, Prema or Obsidian? Without the BIOS, it simply would not work or just the G-Sync would not work?If I would be switching from FHD to QHD, what kind of extra components would I needand where should I get them from? I know, lots of questions but been waiting for a year for a laptop like this with QHD (unstriped) that's not as bulky as 775DM series and not overpriced like Aorus. I do not really care about the cpu being mobile and not desktop...

Now the P67x series is starting to be phased out on many sites it looks as though I'll be getting this Clevo instead. Looks like they have improved the cooling system from the previous G-sync model which is a major bonus.

Just want to chime in I got this laptop on Friday, upgraded an older Dell 17R SE with a i7-3610qm and gt650m.

So far I'm happy with it - trackpad feels a lot better than my old laptop, fingerprint reader is nice.

Initial things I notice are more software than hardware. I didn't notice it immediately until turning off my AC a few times, fan seems to run at unexpected times - be just browsing and I'll hear the fans ramp up, and check on only at ~1.4 GHz and 45 degrees.

Sometimes it seems like the keyboard backlight sleep is abrupt, have to try to pay more attention to it but it enough to draw the eye

It's sound seems good - I wanted top mounted speakers, my Dell had them under the front, did have a subwoofer. The soundblaster app does mess with the sound a bit, which I usually don't like. Without it it's pretty quiet though. But I think the Dell was the same way - quiet at max and no sub until you installed the special driver, it just didn't expose as many adjustments

I have a possible issue where I got a 960evo upgrade, but samsung magician shows it was in X2 slot and only benchmarked at 1700mb. My understanding should have a X4 primary slot. I took a look at opening it up, pulled all the screws but bottom still seems to be held somewhere in the middle, but waiting to hear back from support with instructions, don't want to find out there's a hidden screw, break clips, etc on a brand new laptop. Too new to find a youtube video, and even support seemed a little confused on the system specs and said would need to contact Sager for disassembly instructions, haven't heard back yet.

Side note I got mine with the upgraded 7200 rpm drive (is an HGST travelstar 7K1000), the 960evo 256gb. Screen is a LP173WF4-SPF5 panel, nice upgrade over my previous TN 17"

I wanted to try to catch the keyboard flash thing - it doesn't seem to happen every time, but tend to catch it out of the corner of your eye - can see it in this clip.

Ok, opened it up - there is a screw under the keyboard to remove before the bottom will come off - poke through the marked hole to lift it enough to pull up the keyboard. 960evo was in SSD2, moved to SSD1, now get 2600mb read, added a second SSD.

Please let us know your temps while playing games for an extended period of time. If you have bf1, overwatch, or witcher 3 those are the most heat producing I've found.

Oops nevermind - I was looking for the 1070 version

Played Witcher 3 for half hour or something, loaded random saves
CPU max temp 77c, GPU max temp 79c, room temp 21c

Here are my observations over last weekend, at room temperature ~25c
During individual furmark and Aida64 stress test no thermal throttling or overheating was observed, with gpu and cpu maxing out around 84c and 76c respectively. Running them together though leads to thermal throttling with temps reaching 95c on CPU, and ~84c on gpu

I don't see my spacebar lighting up as well.

Update: Saw your video, backlight is fading out for me as well, but after some interval when no keys are pressed. After pressing any key, backlight immediately turns on for me. Probably feature to preserve battery.
Some setting should be present, to disable this and have always-on backlight. But I am not familiar with Clevo Control Center or FlexiKey. Took me some time to figure out change default blue backlight as well

Hey, let me expand on that it a bit - I like that it has a gentle fade out, it I know it's a setting like 15s, 30s, 1min - I see though sometimes, not every time, as it's fading out and is about at half brightness about to disappear the function / number and then to a less degree further down the rows a sudden "flash" going full brightness and then go back to fading out where it left off. I think you can see it in the video, I'll try attaching a pic - can see this is as it's fading out, and the number row / qwerty is very bright for a few frames

My first thought was software since it seems to control most of the lighting, tried a newer version of the control center from another site, and still see the issue after I'd removed the keyboard to upgrade it. But if no one else is seeing this issue then it sounds like I may have a bad keyboard and will contact support
