I'll apply the Clevo logo to it and I'll leave the modified one with the Clevo logo later today. Not in my laptop until the end of the day so it will be a while but I'll do it :)

Long story short it seens that my GPU is dead. During firestrike with -200mhz on core notebook turned off. And since than no display at all (it turns on normally). GPU is heating up - so i guess it functioning but other than that its dead.

Based on what i read around here its time to give up. Idk if i will be able to get new GTX 1080 so i might go with RTX. Can you recommend any retailer in UE that would ship GPU+right heatsync for my model? Im interested in RTX 2070 or GTX 1080 - whatever would be cheaper.

Using the CH341a programmer, I was able to resuscitate my P870DM-G!

I'll be re-flashing the Dsanke bios next, but I'm glad I was able to re-flash the stock ROM.

Don't think is usable in clevo machines, the die is not in the normal place so is of no use with the heatsink.

    Hi

Sorry, can I ask for a P870DM-G MOD BIOS that can be fitted with a 9900KF?

P870DM-G mod ROM support 16 threads right out of the gate. No other work needed.

Hello! I had a problem with the RTX2070 Refresh Clevo video card on the Clevo p775TM1-G laptop, after flashing the BIOS mod, the video card is not detected in the BIOS and the system, the drivers are not installed, only the mod driver can be installed. Can anyone come across such a problem, tell me

" I have a secret trick. Count to four. Inhale. Count to four. Exhale" - "B.J." Blazkowicz

CLEVO P870XX Direct Die + additional vapor chamber cpu MOD

I am not openning a separate thread for this "mod", please read here if you are interested. I have decided some time ago to try out @ole!!!'s and JC_denton’s cpu mod with some light upgrades :)

STEP1: First of all I have bought a 56x56x3mm vapor chamber. This was the hardest part, as in Hungary it was very difficult to get, from Germany the shipping was like 25EUR. Finally I have found for approx 30EUR in Hungary so I have bought it.

STEP2: Second part - which is rather my idea - to put a direct die delid guard to protect the chip. The der3auer die guard is also rare and expensive, so I have looked for other options. I have found a 3d print model for the guard, so I have had them printed in different versions: 0,6mm 0,7mm 0,8mm height if you lap the die, you can have different height version. My i9 9900’s die is lapped a little bit, even though the 0,6mm die guard version fit to it, the others have light or no contact. I have also had them printed with better “plastic” which is good upto 150C just to be on the safe side.

My first thought was, that I needed to take out the motherboard to replace the cpu clamp with the die guard. Good news, that it is not needed at all, which makes this mod rather easy! You just need to remove the cpu clamp, and place the delided cpu in the socket and screw back the die guard. Of course the IHS from the cpu needs to be removed, clean of the cpu, so the usual delid stuff.

After it was done, I put the 56x56 vapor chamber on the die and TGC-ed both sides. I have measured where the VC covers the die in order to use as little TGC as possible.

I have done the same on the other (flat side) of the VC and on the CPU heatsink. Prior this I tried to flatten the cpu heatsink as much as possible. Also measured, TGC-ed both side, at there you go.

As the “usual” extra, I have installed my very favourite SEPA 5V fan as 4th fan. I have already done this fan mod on my previous 870km1, so I found 3,3V under the battery. On the DM3 needed a little "dremeling" to saw off one "pillar" near the memories, and the backplate to give space for the airflow for the 4th fan. Both took 5 mins altogether. In this case it is very slient but still effective. I have not got anypics about it atm, as soon as I open the laptop I will post some :)

You can see the pictures of the process below, and also some tests. It does not do a miracle, but still a good improvement, both temps and performance improved significantly.

Let me thank for @JC_denton for all the support additional time to help me understand his, I also share my mod for this great community!

Yes interesting. I was P870 km when installing a radiator from the tm version, for fastening the radiator, to the nuts on the motherboard, I just lowered the height of the nuts with a drill, by about 3 mm, almost to the level of the motherboard. and a new heatsink on the processor and the board fit perfectly. no need to install additional boards in this case, on the processor. which also affects the temperature.

I've just bought an external BIOS chip flasher to try and reverse it so hopefully all will be OK soon.

I haven't tried moving the RAM chips around yet, so will give that a go today.

Not entirely true. Dsanke's version of 1.07.29 is here. I'm running it with 64 GB / 9700K. There is no dsanke variant that I know of with support for 128 GB RAM (to be clear - that seems to unique to your version; I'm wondering if there were any features lost in adding the support, though - dsanke suggested there was more to it than throwing the switch in CoffeeTime)
