Sorry if this is the wrong place to post (not being a review), but really, are all the resellers exactly the same? They all have decent reviews about customer support and warranty, and the prices are EXACTLY the same. The only one that is "special" is Mythlogic, who does weird BIOS and stuff for a premium.

How do you choose which reseller to go with? Location? Build time? Flip of a coin? Ouija board?

    Decide based on:

    - Reputation and reviews around here or elsewhere on the internet, especially regarding customer service
    - Location affects shipping and warranty turn-around times
    - Will they charge you sales tax?

You can also decide whether you're more comfortable with a bigger company or smaller operations. Prices are going to be similar for all of them, but some will haggle a little under the advertised price. The resellers typically don't deal with the laptops individually unless you request some custom service, like painting. Initially, they all ship out from the Sager factory directly to you. Your reseller provides sales, customer support, and warranty/RMA assistance.

So the answer is basically "no." Thanks!

Other than the small differences in price between resellers and mythlogic (builders), there's a large difference between them. mythlogic actually orders a Clevo chassis and other parts from somewhere and builds the laptop. Resellers are usually the middleman between you and Sager (in USA) since Sager has a reputation as having horrible support/customer service.

Try to see who you are most comfortable with. They are all pretty different from eachother.

I already just chose LPC Digital, but I wanted to pop in and ask what the "large difference" is. Other than Mythlogic, I doubt there's that much of a difference. And there is exactly zero price difference from emailing around. Maybe it's different if you call in and haggle. Even Mythlogic, who charges a premium for higher quality testing and building, is about the same price if you take into account the base components that are really just upgrades from other resellers.

The big difference is the warranty and who you will be dealing with if/when you have questions/issues. Do you want to answer to a machine or speak directly to a person who knows exactly what s/he is doing on the first call. XoticPC doesn't only deal with Sager but many other brands as well. There are also those who are based in different countries. Ignoring the price, you need to decide who you think will best take care of you when the need arises XD.

Think of it in these terms: If I spend 4000 USD at HP or DELL, I will get a next day, in-home service rep to fix whatever I need. If I spend 4000 USD at Xotic or LPC I will still wait one to two weeks to get even the smallest part fixed. Ask yourself if you can afford to be without your laptop for one to two weeks... if you can then by all means use a reseller, if not then avoid them altogether. I need my next high-end laptop for work, not for play, so I can't afford to be without it for more than a day or two.

I guarantee you the first reseller/builder that offers warranty service like DELL or HP will put all the others out of business.

Always try to go for builders instead of mere resellers when it comes to Clevo/Sager. Builders are likely to handle warranty issues in-house whereas resellers act as a middleman.

Clevo/Sager builders I know of from first-hand experience are Malibal and Pro-Star. There are more.
