The skinning for just the back of the laptop was supposed to be 6-13 business days. It's taken about 5 weeks already with no information at all. It's not just me, and everyone seems to be suffering from this issue where XoticPC skin team goes about double the predicted time.

They're better off just writing "20-30 business days added to production time" because it doesn't even seem to be a unique problem. It's like a chronic problem, and I don't know how it gets messed up that often.

That's not even my biggest issue with the whole skinning process. I made a post before about how verifications gave some vague e-mail about how the laptop might come out the very last week that it was predicted to do so. Had no real information in it.

I e-mail back again as it has gone even longer than predicted as the status e-mails say to contact verifications if it goes over the predicted time, giving my order number to hopefully expedite the process, and I get no reply after a week so I decide to send another e-mail.

What's the point of telling the customer to contact verifications to ask about whatever delays there might have been if they don't even bother to check anything? My very initial e-mail said nothing had gone wrong so why didn't it come sooner? Why are my e-mails now being ignored?

I am sorry if your skinning is taking longer then originally estimated to you. Skinning is a thorough process and sometimes can take longer. If you can PM or email me your order # I would be happy to check it for you. We reply to all emails I would encourage you to check your spam filter if you have not received a reply. We do advise customers to check back with us if they want check on the status again. The only update in our skinning phase is when it moves to shipments, I am sorry we do not have multiples "phases" for skinning.

I understand the "no updates besides moving to shipment" and the no "multiple phases" because it helps keep things run smoother and reduces wasted time, but the no e-mail thing is what is actually bothering me. Prolonged skinning time in order for proper quality is understandable and a great attitude for the company to have.

With how often it seems to happen, though, it seems like it's a better option to just have better skinning. There has to be some way to improve the process as I doubt it's just a coin-toss whether or not it works. It would probably save XoticPC money, too, without the need to skin multiple times as well as the customer as not as many re-skins would have to be done on average.

The e-mail is also not in my spam folder, and since I also already received an e-mail reply from verifications back in the past (before the predicted date passed when I was inquiring about possible expected ETA of the laptop) and got it sent straight to my inbox, there's no reason it should be in the Spam folder, either.
