    Hey all,

I finally got my laptop yesterday, so I thought I would post my impressions of the experience I had when purchasing from Xotic.

I placed my order on 7/12/2012 from my previous location in India, with the understanding that I would have to ship to a location in the United States where I have moved temporarily. Placing the order was hitch free and smooth, and I got a pretty sweet configuration for $1245.

A couple of days later, I got the wire transfer instructions. I had to delay the payment for a week or two because my bank kept sending me back to ask for more information because they could not fill in some fields. It was a pretty frustrating experience, but I believe it's down to the bank I used, and not because of Xotic. Their instructions seemed pretty clear to me.

I finally paid on July 25th or 26th, and got payment confirmation on July 30th, albeit with the notice that I still owed $30. I was told to place a dummy order to give my credit card details, and I did that and my order was approved for production on August 1. At this time, I also made a request for a change of hard drive, which was accommodated. I also changed the shipping address during this time, which was again not a problem.

After the order was approved, I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly everything moved. By August 3, the laptop had been shipped through UPS Ground, and yesterday morning, I picked it up from the UPS truck (was too excited to wait for the delivery guy to come up to my apartment).

My experience was pretty smooth. I dealt with Hutsady and Michael for the most part, and they were cooperative and unambiguous. The laptop itself is a beast, and I will be putting it through its paces and posting a short review later.

Thanks for the write up bazinga! There was a post about too much information on the bank wire transfer that we send out, and the reason you described is why we do so. We also did take the other post into consideration and trimmed out some fat. Glad to hear the computer got you safely and quickly. I can just imagine running out to the UPS truck (because i've done it myself) looking foward to hearing your thoughts after some use on it.
